Although the autumn sun is not as intense as in midsummer, on a fine day like today, its warmth on the skin still feels quite cozy.
"I should have worn less, it's so hot." A gray-haired girl wearing a black hoodie hopped off a crowded bus and complained to the black-haired girl beside her.
"I told you it would be sunny today, but you didn't believe me." Momo noted that she had long ago warned Kamanato to dress lighter today.
But this girl refused to listen and left the house bundled up tightly; as a result, well, here she was.
Unlike her friend, Momo was dressed quite fashionably in a short-sleeved top, a short skirt, and black stockings—she would definitely be the center of attention walking down the street.
"I'm not like you, your legs look so good." Kamanato patted her own legs. She shared many similarities with Leticia, for instance, a dislike for wearing stockings. "I've gotten a bit fat."
"I told you to exercise but you wouldn't, eating fries and fried chicken every day, how could you not get fat?"
"Hehe."
"Hehe my foot!" Facing her friend's deliberate attempt to act cute, Momo was speechless. "Is it really okay for us to be slacking off so blatantly?"
They were still technically on a mission. While the councilor was working hard to find something, they were here meeting an online friend. It felt... a bit shameless?
"It's fine, isn't Yellow Hair still over there?" Kamanato waved her hand, indicating it wasn't a problem at all. "Look, that must be York Rose!"
After walking a few steps, Kamanato spotted a flash of white. Looking closer, she realized it was the back of a young girl.
White hair, a girl—it was definitely York Rose.
Beside York Rose sat a petite, black-haired girl. This, presumably, was her cute little Yuna.
Pulling Momo along to quietly approach the two girls, Kamanato intended to give her good guild member a surprise.
"The sun is so strong, it's so hot." As she got closer, the Guild Leader heard a familiar voice.
It was Yuna complaining.
"So why did you make me wear this outfit? Clearly the other one would have been more suitable for today's weather."
"The last time you wore that outfit out, you practically tried to shrink into my shadow."
The black-haired and White-haired girls seemed to be arguing about clothes.
"I did not! I... hm?" The black-haired girl was halfway through her sentence when she sensed two strangers approaching from behind.
So, she turned her head to look back, meeting Kamanato's gaze exactly.
So, so cute!
Kamanato's breathing suddenly quickened. So Yuna was such a cute girl.
They had been some distance apart last time, so she hadn't seen clearly, but at such close range, she finally understood the meaning of the word 'cute.'
This face looked as if it had been hand-carved by a god, without a single flaw; the only word for it was 'perfect.'
Those eyes, as clear and bright as obsidian, took the girl's charm to another level. As the saying goes, the eyes are the window to the soul; how could a girl with eyes like that possibly be a bad person?
"Yuna?" Kamanato asked softly, afraid she had the wrong person and would embarrass herself in front of such a cute girl.
The girl's reaction made the heavy stone in her heart drop to the ground.
"Guild Leader?" The girl tilted her head, asking her own question back to Kamanato.
Oh my god, no, no, a nosebleed is coming. Kamanato couldn't help but take half a step back, covering her nose with her hand.
She had always had no resistance to cute little creatures, and Leticia undoubtedly belonged to that category.
"Yes, yes, my name is Kamanato." After a moment to compose herself, Kamanato finally managed to complete her introduction. "This is my good friend, her name is Momo."
"Oh, the Guild Leader's name is very pretty." Leticia nodded repeatedly. "I'm Quinn Sukina, the Guild Leader should know that, right?"
"So Yuna really is named Yuna. I thought it was just a nickname."
"Haha, this is York Rose, her full name is..."
"Melanie." Melanie interrupted Leticia's introduction and stood up from the chair. She turned to look at the stunned Kamanato. "Very nice to meet you both."
Gulp. Kamanato and Momo swallowed simultaneously. Unlike the White-haired girl in the photo who only gave the first impression of being 'pretty,' the real Melanie carried an aura of cold elegance that was impossible to ignore.
Where did this young lady come from! Kamanato screamed inwardly.
She had originally thought York Rose was just a somewhat silly, pretty older sister with little common sense. As it turns out, she was actually such a high-class young lady?
Don't ask why Kamanato was so sure Melanie was a high-class lady—it was intuition!
Could a girl with such a noble temperament be an ordinary girl?
Impossible!
Absolutely impossible!
"Hey, isn't your friend a bit ridiculous?" Beside her, Momo, who was equally stunned by Melanie's aura, nudged Kamanato with her elbow.
"How was I supposed to know she'd be like this in person..." Kamanato replied in a whisper. "York Rose, you're very beautiful."
"Mhm." Melanie responded indifferently.
Leticia, on the other hand, rolled her eyes quite ungracefully. Don't think she couldn't tell—the current Melanie was actually exploding with nervousness inside.
Ah, yes, that's right. Melanie, who looked so cold and aloof on the outside, was currently panicking like crazy.
This girl's social skills seemed to be even worse than Leticia's.
"Alright, alright, now that introductions are done, let's go play!" Leticia clapped her hands, drawing the attention of the three back to her.
This meeting wasn't for the three of them to stand around staring at each other. Playing was the main goal!
"Yes, yes, okay." Kamanato nodded quickly. As expected, compared to the cold York Rose, the cute Yuna was much more lovable.
Trotting over to Leticia's side, Kamanato whispered in Leticia's ear: "Is York Rose a young lady from a wealthy family?"
"Well, in a sense, yes." Leticia nodded, casting a glance at Melanie, who was looking their way. "But don't worry, Guild Leader. She looks cold, but she's actually quite easy to get along with."
"Oh?"
"Of course, that's for you guys. It's different for me." Leticia rolled her eyes again. "I can't wait for her to drop dead, preferably torn into a thousand pieces."
"Ah, well..." The Guild Leader scratched her cheek, a bit at a loss. She didn't know how to respond to Leticia's words.
"Never mind, let's not talk about that. Let's go to that newly opened game center."
