Chapter 48 - Chapter 48. Unqualified Sisters

"I've realized you really don't know what's good for you. You casually showed up at someone else's house, and now you're refusing to leave." Facing the motionless Melanie, Leticia had run out of options.

I can't push her! If I used all my strength, her house would probably collapse immediately.

"I'll leave once Luca leaves." Melanie said she didn't want to stay either, but since Luca was constantly at her house, she really didn't dare go back now.

If she went back, her sister and Luca would see her current ragged state, and Miss Sword Saint simply couldn't afford to lose face like that.

You ask why she can stay here with Leticia?

Isn't it simple? Leticia has seen all of Melanie, okay? This current situation is just a minor thing.

"Then I'll go kick her out." Leticia immediately started rolling up her sleeves.

"Don't go." Melanie instantly grabbed Leticia's hand. She didn't want Leticia and her sister to meet face-to-face yet.

This reaction made Leticia feel that something was wrong. When did Melanie, this 'Three-No' person, ever act like this?

There's a problem, definitely a problem.

"Is there something wrong with that Luca? Why can't I go kick her out?" Leticia crossed her arms, looking like she would go up and kick the person out if Melanie didn't explain.

Melanie twisted her hands together, her expression conflicted. After a long time, she finally thought of a good reason, "She and Leticia need some space to be alone. It wouldn't be good for us to interrupt right now."

Leticia didn't believe that reason at all. "Space to be alone"? That was pure nonsense.

Melanie better tell her that Yori and Luca were secretly involved, otherwise Leticia really couldn't figure out why Melanie was afraid to go home.

"Don't tell me Leticia and Luca have started dating?"

"Huh?" Melanie didn't expect Leticia's thought process to be so erratic. How did she connect Yori and Luca being secretly involved just from that one sentence?

And Melanie's reaction indirectly proved something: there was definitely nothing going on between Yori and Luca.

"So then, why can't I go up there?" Leticia glared fiercely at Melanie.

"Maybe Luca knows you're a demon. I don't want weirdos running to the ground floor of my house every day." Melanie finally found a reason that sounded halfway decent.

If Luca knew Leticia, then given the demons' level of worship for the Demon King, this Miss probably wouldn't even go to school; she'd be blocking Leticia's doorway every day, trying to persuade Leticia to return as the King.

That, indeed, would be a big problem.

"That makes sense." Leticia nodded. She really wasn't suited to go up there.

But that doesn't mean this fellow Melanie can stay here!

"But what does that have to do with you squatting here? Go, go, scram quickly." Leticia continued to push.

Melanie helplessly glanced at Leticia, who was throwing a tantrum. Miss Demon King truly looked like a Spoiled Young Mistress from a TV drama.

And the best way to deal with this kind of Spoiled Young Mistress was to be even more spoiled than her.

This was the experience Melanie had gained from binge-watching TV dramas over the past few days.

"Be good." Grabbing both of Leticia's hands, Melanie pressed the girl onto the sofa. "Talking for a while won't make you lose a piece of flesh."

"I have nothing to talk about with you," Leticia replied indignantly.

Being forcefully pinned to the sofa like this made her extremely unhappy.

"Hmm, how about we talk about our sisters?" Melanie desperately searched for a topic she and Leticia could discuss.

The topic of sisters was indeed something they could discuss, because even though neither of them were exactly good sisters in a certain sense, their affection for their sisters was absolutely genuine.

"Sisters, you're certainly not unfamiliar with Kira, right?" Just as Melanie expected, Leticia's resistance significantly lessened after hearing'sister.'

"Not unfamiliar. I originally planned to kill her." Melanie did not hide her initial intention.

"If you dare lay a hand on Kira, I'll never be done with you, dammit." Leticia immediately stated that her sister was her inverse scale, warning Melanie not to scheme against her sister.

Leticia's attitude towards Kira had always been this way: only she herself could bully her sister. If anyone else dared to touch a single hair on Kira's head, Leticia would dare to chop off that person's hand.

Youyou sighed. Melanie was quite satisfied with her decision not to let Leticia and Luca meet. Judging by Leticia's attitude, if the two sisters actually met, a major incident might occur.

"I'm retired. I have no reason to strike at Kira again. As long as she doesn't do anything world-shaking, I won't do anything to her."

"Even if she does, if you want to touch her, you have to get past me first," Leticia snorted coldly.

Melanie remained silent for a long time regarding Leticia's attitude. She suddenly realized that she and the Demon King shared at least one common point: they both highly valued their sisters.

"Melanie, if one day, Leticia did something world-shaking, as you put it, what would you do?" Looking into Melanie's eyes, Leticia asked a question that was extremely difficult to answer.

"The survival of humanity or your own sister—which would you choose?"

"That day won't come." Melanie didn't answer, though she knew exactly what choice she would make. "Before that happens, I will stop her."

"Right. Leticia is different from you; she's just an ordinary girl." Leticia felt her question was a bit foolish. What kind of world-shaking thing could an ordinary person do?

Unlike her sister Kira, whose strength was almost on par with the Four Heavenly Kings.

"Sigh, I haven't seen her in so many years, I really miss Kira." Now that they were talking about her sister, Leticia felt a little down.

Since she shamefully ran away from the Demon Race, she hadn't seen her sister for several years. She missed her sister's soft little face, and her cheeks puffed up when she was angry... "You said I wasn't a good sister earlier, but aren't you the same?" Melanie suggested that they were two sides of the same coin. She had abandoned her sister for so many years, and wasn't Leticia the same?

Moreover, compared to herself, Leticia was clearly much worse, right?

She had dumped the entire Demon Race onto Kira, which was much worse than Yori's previous situation.

"Perhaps. I've never been a good sister." Leticia rarely failed to refute Melanie's words.

In her own view, she, Leticia, certainly couldn't be called a good sister.

"I'm not a good sister. I don't even know how to be a sister."

"It's rare to see you be so candid."

"When have I ever not been candid?"

"Right now."

"Scram."
