We don't part ways. Not this time.
It just… happens.
After the awkward start, after the small talk, after the tension settles just enough.
We start walking. Together.
Side by side.
Not touching. But close enough that I can feel him there.
And somehow.....That's enough.
"…So this isn't weird at all," I mumble.
Lucifer glances at me. "Walking?"
"With you."
A small pause.
"....It is a little," he admits.
I huff out a quiet laugh. "Glad we agree."
But it's not bad weird. It's the kind that feels like something restarting.
Slowly.
Carefully.
Like we're both trying not to mess it up this time. We walk in silence for a bit. But it's not suffocating like before.
It's… easier.
"…I missed this," I say before I can stop myself. I freeze slightly. Because I did not mean to say that out loud.
Lucifer stops walking. I stop too.
"…You did?" he asks.
His voice is quieter now. More careful. I look away slightly, my face warming.
"…Y-yeah."
There's no point taking it back. Because it's true.
"I missed you," I add, softer this time.
The words hang there.
Real.
Heavy.
Honest.
Lucifer exhales slowly. Like he's been holding that in.
"…I missed you too."
That hits harder than anything else. Because now it's not just me. It's both of us.
And suddenly....
This doesn't feel one-sided anymore.
