Chapter 8 - CHAPTER 06 | Ryujin: Dragon's Point

"I rule the tides from beginning to end, The jewels of the waters answer to me. On my deep throne, the sea is my garden..."

"Solve my riddle or I will devour you." > — Aeon, the Guardian of Ancient Mysteries

The Call of the Silvery Mist

Three moons had passed since Txai and Iúna transcended into their pure energy forms within the Cave of Lovers. Now, as ethereal guardians of Ilha Grande, they existed primarily as luminous consciousnesses protecting the sacred island. Though they could manifest physically when the Earth required their touch, they moved mostly as whispers in the wind and light upon the waves.

On this morning, a thick, silvery mist clung to the shore. They felt a calling — not from the island's inhabitants or visitors seeking healing, but from the depths of the water itself. The ocean currents surrounding Ponta do Drago — the legendary rock formation that rose between the beaches of Aventureiro and Provetá like a sleeping stone giant — were singing an ancestral song.

"Do you feel this, my sun?" murmured Iúna, her ethereal form shimmering with silvery hues as she floated above the crystal-clear waters. "The currents are not just moving; they are speaking."

Txai materialized beside her, his golden essence dancing in harmony with the morning breeze. "It is a song of the ancients, my moon. Something buried in the foundations of time is calling us."

Together, they moved toward Dragon's Point, drifting through dimensions with the fluidity of those who had outgrown physical limitations. Upon arrival, they realized the rock formation was no mere work of nature — it was a dormant dimensional portal, waiting for worthy guardians to stir its heart.

The Ancestral Carp

"Observe," a deep voice boomed, emerging from the very stones.

From the turbulent white foam, figures began to rise. They were gigantic carp, but not creatures of flesh and bone. These were enlightened beings, scales shimmering with the wisdom of ages. The largest among them, a golden carp whose scales shone like miniature suns, broke the surface.

"I am Ryujin, the Ancestral Carp who became a Dragon through overcoming," the being spoke, his voice echoing in their minds. "A thousand years ago, when the first invaders arrived with malevolent intent, I protected the Tamoio people using the ocean's breath as my weapon."

As Ryujin spoke, visions materialized on the water's surface like living holograms.

"In the time of corsairs and pirates," the dragon carp continued, "these waters were a spiritual battlefield. The invaders did not just come for gold; they sought the secrets of spiritual transformation that the Tamoio guarded. Every pirate with greed in his heart was snatched by these currents. They did not die, but were cast into dimensions where they had to confront their own shadows until they were purified."

"And those with pure hearts?" Iúna asked, her light pulsing with curiosity.

The dragon carp smiled, a regal and ancient expression. "Those who came seeking enlightenment, not wealth, were accepted into our teachings. They learned that to swim against the current of the world is the first step toward the divine."

The Trial of the Deep

Ryujin swam in great, slow circles around the couple, emanating waves of ancestral wisdom.

"You two have passed the first lesson: perseverance. You faced the storms of society and the chains of the system. You swam against the world's tide, and thus, your transformation began. But that was merely the shore."

A second carp emerged—silvery as the moon, with scales reflecting the lunar phases. "I am Mizuko, guardian of the emotional tides. The second lesson is the conquest of the inner self. To become true spiritual dragons, you must dive into the depths of your own internal oceans."

The waters around Dragon's Point began to churn, creating a massive whirlpool that seemed to descend into the very core of the Earth.

"This is the Portal of Inner Depths," Ryujin declared. "You will not find gold there. You will find every version of yourselves that remains unhealed. Your fears, your resentments, your pride. If you fail to overcome them, you will remain local guardians — powerful, yet bound to this island. But if you succeed, you shall become Golden Dragons, universal cosmic forces capable of bringing healing to any corner of the existence."

The Descent

Iúna extended her hand, her silver energy intertwining with Txai's gold. "My love, we have faced everything together. This challenge will be no different."

"Always together," Txai agreed, his essence strengthening hers.

As they plunged into the spiritual whirlpool, the world dissolved. The descent was a journey through layers of consciousness. In the first layer, they met their former selves: Txai, the ex-convict fueled by rage against a broken system; and Iúna, the rebellious daughter resentful of her family's expectations.

"Why forgive them?" the shadow of Txai hissed. "They locked you in a cage! They deserve to burn!"

"Why seek harmony?" the shadow of Iúna whispered. "They rejected who you were! Why love those who threw you away?"

But the transcendent couple did not flinch. They saw these voices not as enemies, but as echoes of healed wounds. They embraced their shadows with compassion, integrating them into their light without judgment.

As they descended further, the final trap appeared: Spiritual Pride. The subtle voice that told them they were "chosen" or "superior" to others. In the silence of the deep, they realized that true power is not measured by standing above others, but by the ability to remain humble before the Great Mystery.

They let the temptation of vanity dissolve like sea foam. Strengthened by the clarity that humility is the only bridge to the true light, Txai and Iúna let go of the last remnants of the ego.

The darkness of the depths began to glow. The transformation had begun.
