Chapter 7 - CHAPTER 05 | The Golden Beetle

"My golden shell is like a mirror; I know secrets from the oldest times. I manipulate destiny, I ask for no advice..."

"Solve my riddle, or I shall devour you." — Aeon, the Guardian of Ancient Mysteries

The Solar Psychopomp

The sun was just rising over Cataguases Beach when Txai and Iúna walked along the sand, still damp from the receding tide. Solar energy pulsed through Txai's veins like a river of golden light; he felt his nature as a solar psychopomp intensify with every ray that graced his tanned skin.

"Do you feel it?" he murmured, intertwining his fingers with hers. They stopped before a rock formation where small quartz crystals captured and refracted the morning light into dancing prisms. "There is something here... something we have been waiting for."

That was when they saw it.

Among the stones polished by the sea, a golden beetle rolled a small sphere that shone like molten metal under the rising sun. Its carapace did not merely reflect the sunlight; it seemed to contain an entire universe within itself — all the colors of the spectrum, from the deep red of passion to the ethereal violet of transcendence.

"A golden beetle," whispered Iúna, her voice heavy with ancestral reverence. She squeezed Txai's hand, immediately recognizing the sacred creature her grandmother had spoken of in stories that sounded like myths. "My grandmother said they were the guardians of the balance between light and shadow."

The beetle stopped its eternal work and turned toward them with an almost human grace. Its lamellated antennae opened like small golden fans, and something extraordinary happened: its compound eyes began to emit beams of polarized light. They danced in the air like invisible threads of cosmic silk, weaving patterns that made the couple's hearts race.

Txai felt his solar energy resonate deeply with the small being, like two tuning forks vibrating at the exact same frequency.

"He is like me," Txai suddenly understood, tears of recognition glistening in his feline eyes. "A psychopomp... but solar. While I guide souls through the shadows of sacred plants, he leads them through the pure light of day."

Iúna watched, fascinated, as the beetle began to fly in circles around them. With each beat of its golden wings, more beams of polarized light became visible, revealing a secret network of luminous paths that had always been there, awaiting eyes capable of seeing beyond the veil of ordinary reality.

"I can see," murmured Iúna, marveling as her pupils dilated to capture the phenomena. "There are paths... paths of light that connect everything. It's as if the universe were a gigantic web, and we had never even noticed."

It was true. Where before there was only air and ordinary sunlight, both could now perceive a complex web of polarized light. Some beams connected the stones of the beach like ethereal bridges; others rose toward the sky in golden spirals, creating invisible passages between the earth and the cosmos.

"He is teaching us," Txai said, extending his hand reverently. The beetle landed gently on his palm, and a wave of ancient knowledge flowed through him like warm water. "He is showing us how to navigate paths that others cannot see. How to be true guides."

The Alchemy of Ascension

The beetle then began its most sacred dance, descending to the sand with ritualistic movements. It resumed rolling its small sphere of organic matter. But this was not common earth or dung; it seemed to contain the concentrated essence of everything that had been discarded, rejected, or deemed impure by the civilized world.

"Look," whispered Iúna, kneeling beside Txai, their bodies touching in reverent intimacy. "He is showing us the secret of transmutation."

As it rolled the sphere with infinite patience, the golden beetle began to transform it right before their eyes. With each precise movement, the dark matter became clearer, more luminous, radiating heat and light until it turned into a small sphere of pure, golden brilliance.

"The alchemy of the soul," Txai realized, his voice choked with emotion. "It takes what the world considers dirty, impure, or dead... and reveals its hidden luminous nature. It transforms rejection into gold."

Then, the beetle accomplished something even more miraculous. It took off, carrying the sphere of light as a sacred offering, and rose in ever-higher spirals, following the paths of polarized light that only they could now see. Even after handling the world's filth, even when rooted in what the world deemed lowly and impure, it could ascend and touch the divine without losing its essence.

Sweat streamed down Txai's face. Iúna embraced him, sharing his profound realization.

"That is what we do as healers, as psychopomps," Txai said. "We take the pain, the trauma, what seems dead in people... and help reveal the light that has always been there, waiting."

The Polarized Vision

The beetle descended gracefully, landing between them in the sacred space their bodies created. Its antennae opened completely like blooming golden flowers, and a concentrated solar energy flowed from its small body. It enveloped Txai and Iúna in an aura of polarized light that made their very skin glow.

Suddenly, they could see everything — not just with their eyes, but with every cell of their bodies.

They saw the invisible paths connecting each grain of sand to distant constellations; each drop of the sea to tears of joy shed on other continents; each star to dreams yet undreamed. They saw the energy trails that linked one person's heart to another across time and space, the luminous threads connecting the living to their ancestors in an eternal dance.

"Now you can navigate as I navigate," the beetle's voice echoed in their united minds, arriving not as sound, but as pure knowledge settling into their cells. "You can see what cannot be seen with ordinary eyes. You can guide others through the hidden paths of transformation."

Txai felt his solar psychopomp nature expand exponentially, like a thousand-petaled lotus opening in his chest. He was no longer just a guide through the shadows; now, he could lead souls through the paths of polarized light, navigating the invisible dimensions that connected all beings in a single cosmic tapestry.

The Night of the Stars

When night arrived, draping the world in its starry velvet cloak, they returned to the beach hand in hand, their steps synchronized like a dance. Iúna, with eyes that shone silvery under the crescent moon, could now see even deeper. The polarized light of the stars created a cosmic network of connections that pulsed in perfect harmony with her lunar heart.

"Go observe the stars," she murmured, recalling her grandmother's prophetic words and finally understanding their profound meaning. "They will observe the moon. But see beyond what the eyes show."

And they did see. More than just stars and the moon, they saw the polarized threads connecting each celestial body in a luminous symphony. They saw currents of energy flowing between planets like rivers of liquid light — the secret paths by which souls traveled between dimensions, dancing between life and death, light and shadow.

The golden beetle appeared once again, shining softly in the darkness like a star descended to earth. It flew to Iúna in ritual circles and landed delicately over her heart, which beat faster at the proximity of the sacred.

The Heart of Gold

"It is time," the little being said, its voice echoing like the music of the spheres. "It is time for me to become what I was always destined to be. It is time to complete the cycle."

Before their amazed, emotional eyes, the beetle began its final transformation. Its golden carapace slowly crystallized, becoming translucent like liquid amber holding the light of the first dawn. Its wings merged into a perfect, pulsating heart shape. Its entire being condensed into a living jewel that radiated its own light, containing all the colors of the cosmic spectrum.

"A heart of gold," whispered Txai. He delicately took the jewel with hands that trembled with reverence. "For you, Iúna. To forever carry the wisdom of transmutation, the power to transform shadow into light."

When Iúna placed the scarab-heart against her chest, it gently merged with her skin in waves of golden warmth, becoming a permanent part of her essence. Immediately, her eyes gained a new dimension — not only silvery under the moon, but also golden under the sun. She was now capable of seeing both the lunar paths of intuition and the solar paths of conscious action.

"Now we are complete," she said, embracing Txai with an intensity that made their hearts beat as one. "You, the solar psychopomp who guides through pure light. I, the lunar island who now carries a heart of the sun. Together, we can navigate all paths — visible and invisible, terrestrial and celestial."

The scarab-heart pulsed gently in synchronicity with their human hearts. They understood that they had received a sacred gift and a cosmic responsibility: the ability to see and navigate the polarized light of existence. They were ready to transform what was seemingly dead into radiant life, turn the unclean into the sacred, and guide others through the transmutations necessary for the evolution of the soul.

On the beach of Cataguases, under a sky where they could now see the cosmic web of light connecting all things in an eternal dance of creation, Txai and Iúna became true navigators between worlds. Just like the beetle that flies high while carrying the wisdom extracted from the earth, they were capable of ascending to the divine even while embracing the shadows of human existence.
