Chapter: 63: Where You Belong
Elena
Ring,
Ring.
Alarm noises filled the air waking me up from sleep. I don't have an alarm, so why was I being woken up by one?
I fluttered my eyes open as a pang of headache hit me. "Ahh," I winced.
Panic bubbled in my chest as I took in my surroundings. "What the hell."
I sat up quickly, my head spinning in the process. Think, Elena. Think.
Bits and pieces of the night before made their way through my mind which only meant I was at Damien's house. But why was I naked?
"Did he? Did we," confusion set in. I hadn't gone all the way yet with Damien, and quite frankly I wasn't ready too.
The door creaked open, and I held my breath.
A tall shirtless Damien stepped in. "You're finally awake," his voice came in smooth and calm, a stark contrast to how I felt on the inside.
"What did you do to me?"
"Where are my clothes?" I questioned annoyance etched on my face.
"Whoa, whoa slow down Elena," he said gesturing with his hands for me to calm down.
"One question at a time," he added stepping closer, the dim light catching the sharp angles of his face. With the look on his face, he seemed to find the situation amusing.
"First of all nothing, I did nothing to you," he replied folding his arms across his chest.
"Secondly your clothes were dirty and you dramatically took them off yourself," he added laughing lightly. "I only helped wrap you in that blanket," his eyes trailing my wrapped body.
A wave of embarrassment hit me. I didn't remember doing any of that. I just wanted the floor to open up and swallow me at this very moment.
" your clothes are still in the washing machine in the laundry room."
He came close to the bed, sitting down beside me. My eyes darted between him seated on the bed and where he was standing. "Erm wha—" I was able to speak before he leaned in, so close to my body that I could feel his bodily heat.
His chiseled chest invaded my space, his nipples pointing at me. My face turned crimson at the sight. Curiosity edged me to touch him just when he slipped out his iPad from under the pillow beside me.
His lips were inches away from mine and his eyes met mine before he recoiled back, seated upright. A smile tugged at his lips. "Miss Elena, should I be worried?" He said using his hands to cover up his chest.
"What, No."
His voice laced with mockery. "You look like you want to eat me."
"No I don't," I said hastily.
"SOoo, you want to kiss me then?" He added smirking with an arched eyebrow.
"No, stop talking nonsense," I said trying to defend myself.
"You don't have to be shy," he added standing to his feet.
He walked closer to me, leaning close to my ear as he whispered. "Freshen up and I might give you as many kisses as you'd like." The grin on his face, unmistakable.
Just what was this man up to?
He gave me one last look before leaving me to myself in the room.
I hurriedly got out of bed and in to the shower. My thoughts leaving me no breathing space.
'Did he think I was dirty?'
'Did he think my breath was smelling?'
'Did I look ugly this morning?'
I hadn't bothered to check the mirror before I got in the shower but considering my actions last night, it wouldn't be surprising if I looked like a homeless person.
I got done in the shower to realize I had nothing to wear and there was no way I was going to walk around naked. My eyes then saw his closet. Rummaging through it, I picked one of his shorts and brown colored button-down shirts and put them on.
I stepped out of his room to a delicious aroma that filled the air. "Come have a seat," he gestured toward the chair opposite him at the dining table.
"Have you seen my cell phone?"
Damien had brought me back to his place and I hadn't told Jenna I won't be coming back. I didn't want her and Lily worrying about me.
"Here," he answered, taking the phone out of the pocket of his trousers.
"If you're worried about Lily, Jenna already put her to bed before I came home with you," he said continuing with what he was doing in the kitchen.
My eyebrows shot up in shock. " And how do you know about this?" I questioned.
"I spoke to her," he said casually. "You know, she was even the one that suggested I take you back to my place," he added while placing the food prepared on the table.
I Pinched the bridge of my nose. That sounded like what Jenna would suggest.
I took my seat not being told a second time to dig in. Pasta Cabonara was served, accompanied by an assortment of mouth watering side dishes. Garlic and Herb Focaccia and Caprese Salad. "Did you make this yourself?"
"What do you think."
I guessed obviously, I had seen him rounding up the cooking. "The food tastes delicious," I said my mouth stuffed with food.
He leaned in wiping the food stain on my cheeks with his finger. As I raised my lashes to meet his gaze, he brought his finger to his lips and licked it as if it were normal for him.
Since when did he look this sexy? I tried looking away so he wouldn't notice my blushing face.
"Thank you," I mumbled.
"For what?" He asked,
"For…" I said pointing at my cheek. "And handling the issue with Conor," I added
He smiled. "I told you I would. There was no way I would let him harm you."
I pouted, a sly smile playing on my lips "I'm glad you could keep to your words"
He grinned, "Speaking about keeping my word, I'm yet to fulfill what I whispered to you in the room." He dabbed his mouth and got up.
"You've got something at the corner of your lips" he teased,
He leaned into me his face inches from mine. I froze, butterflies dancing in my tummy,
Then I felt liquid warmth lick over my skin, any closer and it would have been a kiss.
"hey stop", I shrieked, pushing him away, blood rushed to my cheeks, I was as red as a tomato. He chuckled, finding amusement in my flustered state.
"I want you to come with me for the Twilight Fest. I won't take no for an answer" he smiled, his tone left no room for objection,
It was the weekend and I was less busy after all. There was no point fighting him, he always had his way,
"Sure", I rolled my eyes,
"Great. Call Jenna to get Lily ready, we will be leaving in two hours' time." He stated.
