Kendo was doing fine in the exam. She noticed the three pointers shutting down randomly as the exam progressed.
She didn't understand what was going on until she felt something move from right beside her face. She turned back immediately to see a 3 pointer shutting down behind her.
Something is stopping the three pointers. She looked in the direction whre she felt that projectile coming. She couldn't find anyone until she spotted a silhouette of a person on top of the entrance gate.
Is that person the reason the 3 pointers and two pointers are shutting down randomly?
She has to move. If that's the reason, she destroyed so many robots that shut down thinking they are malfunctioning.
Shit. She thought she scored above 40! But if the points of every robot she destroyed after it stopped belong to that person, then she would be left with less than 10 points.
Kendo got desperate. She moved faster and smashed every moving robot with more rigor than before.
She can't slow down. UA is her dream. As Kendo started racking up real points in the last 3 minutes, she didn't notice a one pointer gaining on her from behind and knocking her unconscious.
Akira who was carrying the unconscious girl wondered what she should do with her and just held her as she jumped down the debris of the robot.
' Her head is bleeding. Did she get head shotted or something? I can stop the bleeding I guess.' Akira thought and mixed her blood with the unconscious girl's blood before clotting it solid. 'And why is she lowkey pretty? Girl looks like the fl in a historic manhwa tbh.'
That is when the exam buzzer went off signaling the end of the exam.
As the medics came to check on the injured examinees, Akira handed her to one of the medics and left.
As she went back to her home, she didn't expect Hawks to greet her before she even arrives there.
" Hello chicken! Guess what happened?"
" You rigged something in the test, didn't you?" He smirked as he hovered above her.
" Hehehe" she grinned earning a head ruffle from the No.3 hero.
" By the way, Tokyo trip! " She beamed.
" What party?" He asked amused.
" Well, we talked about the trip when I get into UA no?"
" You just gave the exam. Your admission letter didn't arrive yet. "
" Do you seriously think I won't get in? You wound my fragile heart. This is verbal abuse. " She clutched her heart as she accused him pointing her other hand at him.
" That's a lot of confidence for a leafmuncher. And you're the one abusing me verbally. Accusing of something I would never even think of while ripping my feathers for fun. You wound me Akira chan."
" Yeah yeah. What about Tokyo?"
" Later. "
" Come onnn! The results will take a whhooollleee week!!!"
" And you're going to wait for the whole week!" Hawks grinned.
" Either you're taking me or I'm doing something. "
" Stop threatening to go illegal Akira chan. Eyes and ears follow you everywhere."
" Maybe those eyes and ears can convince you to go on the trip then." Akira smirked.
A week passed. The exam results are waiting in the mailbox of Hawks apartment.
" Hey leafmuncher~ Looks like your results are here. " Hawks sang as he checked the mailbox that morning.
" Yeah yeah. " Akira lazily said going back to sleep.
" You're the only person on earth wrho responds to getting results with a yeah yeah you know?"
" Hmmm..." Akira hummed too lazy to move her lips.
" I'm gonna open it if you don't wake up. "
" Mmmmm.."
Hawks dumped a bottle of water on her.
" I'm going to cook you! You damn chickenwings!!"
Hawks didn't wait for her to open her eyes before flying away. He can hear her threatening to turn him into a Yakitori from the sky.
He'll come back when the coast is clear.
Akira waited for Hawks to come back.
In the meantime, she freshened up and started doing some mild workout with weights.
Hawks came back in the evening.
He kicked the door before entering. As expected, there's a bucket of paint falling right as the door opened.
" Akira chan, you're wasting paint~" he teased as he casually sidestepped a glitter shower that followed on the next step after the paint.
" And glitter. " He continued with that ever present smile on his face.
" You're late. I thought I'd leave some leftovers for you but too bad you're unlucky to eat my amazing food. "
She added charmingly in a teasing tone.
" Guess I am unlucky then. What about the results? "
" I didn't open. "
" Aw, scared you might fail? Or maybe the little leafmuncher is waiting for her amazing hero to open it together?"
" Scared? Says the one who ran out of his own apartment in fear of a meek drenched girl. "
" Meek? I think you might need glasses Akira chan. "
They ate their dinner together still lost in banter.
The house is no longer a white walled sterile apartment with the bare minimum furniture.
The walls are filled with colours and murals. And the dining room has an entire wall dedicated for pinning up photos of their little trips.
Big wide leafed plants adorned every empty corner.
Small doodles covered the switchboards.
Random makeup supplies or paint tubes lying there everywhere you look.
Hawks had a house. She made it a home.
The first time she found a bug in their house, she didn't understand what it was. She asked Hawks and got a very ominous answer.
" The walls have ears. "
Made sure to blast music on speakers at highest volume everyday at random times while plugging hers and Hawks ears since that day.
And made sure to remove all the bugs as she trained and her perception increased.
Hawks was proud of how much she grew up in such a short time. And of how much brightness she brought into his life.
She is family. A real one.
