I stepped into the hotel room. When the door clicked shut behind me I felt like I'd walked into a trap snapping closed. My heart hammered, but I forced a casual stride, masking the fact that I had zero clue what I'd just walked into.
The place was sleek- dim lights, king-sized bed dominating the space, air thick with a sterile luxury scent. Lucas moved ahead, shrugging off his jacket and tossing it over a chair.
"Relax, it's a hotel," he said, voice smooth, almost bored, as if this were routine.
"Right, so what are we doing here?" I asked, crossing my arms to hide the tremor in my hands.
I miss my prayer beads!
"We should finish what we started earlier," Lucas replied, turning to face me with those piercing yellow eyes. "Come here."
Was he talking about the feeding?
My mind screamed that I needed to leave right now.
I didn't budge, feet rooted to the carpet.
I couldn't move.
