Mary Donald caught him staring at her belly and immediately glared at him with playful discontent. "What? Are you saying you'll only learn how to cook for the sake of your wife and your unborn child?"
George instantly burst into a low, rumbling laugh, wrapping his arms around her waist to pull her close. "How could that ever be! My wife always comes first."
He buried his face against Mary's neck, inhaling her soft scent. Ever since they had gotten together, his biggest fear was making her angry.
"Well, seeing as you've been on your absolute best behavior this evening, I suppose I can reluctantly agree to go with you," she murmured softly. The thought of meeting her future in-laws made her surprisingly nervous.
