Realizing he had pushed his luck, he quickly tossed down the green onions he was rinsing, walked out of the kitchen, and sat directly beside her on the sofa. He wrapped his arms around her waist, pulling her close. "Alright, don't be angry, my love. I promise I'll cook for you frequently from now on, okay?" He pecked her tiny, pouting red lips, coaxing her with absolute softness.
She couldn't cook now, and even if she wanted to learn, he wouldn't let her lift a finger in the future anyway.
Evelyn wrinkled her nose, looking at the man with a thoroughly aggrieved expression. "You're just finding another way to look down on me. As a mother, the fact that I still can't cook a proper meal is quite embarrassing. Maybe I should actually go enroll in a culinary course one of these days?"
