Evelyn Sin looked at her family gathered around the hospital bed. Seeing how genuinely worried they were, her eyes grew warm and slightly red. Knowing so many people truly cared about her brought a sudden surge of happiness to her heart.
"Grandfather, I'm really fine now. I'm okay," Evelyn said. The nurse had already removed the IV needle from her arm, and her body felt much lighter as she sat up on the bed.
She glanced toward the door, but there was still no sign of Michael Thorn. Had he already left?
Her mother noticed her searching gaze and instantly saw through her. "Don't bother looking. He left early this morning."
Evelyn blushed, feeling deeply embarrassed. Was she really being that obvious? Still, a prickle of annoyance hit her. Michael hadn't even said a single word to her before disappearing.
