Now that the dough had finally been mixed into a smooth, stretchy lump, Tessa wiped the sweat from her forehead and stared proudly at the heated stone she had buried deep inside the giant clay pot. The glowing stone radiated heat through the pot, turning the entire thing into a crude oven.
Honestly, she was impressed with herself.

"You people should stay back so dirt doesn't enter the bread," Tessa warned seriously while carefully lifting the massive turtle shell that served as a lid. "And watch your feet too. If anyone trips into this oven, I'm not saving you."
At once the males jumped backward as though she had threatened to throw them inside.
