The males finished washing themselves properly before putting their clothes back on. Soon, they all began returning toward the settlement together. Earlier activities had been interrupted because of the drama from before, so everyone was slowly resuming their duties again.
The moment Tessa spotted the newly built chicken cage, her eyes immediately brightened with excitement.
The structure stood firmly near the side of the settlement, woven carefully from wood and thick vines. Inside, several chickens screeched endlessly in protest, clearly unhappy about their sudden loss of freedom.
Tessa, however, looked at them like they were treasures sent from heaven.
"Well," she announced proudly while placing her hands on her waist, "welcome to your new home, my delicious little ones."
The chickens screeched louder.
Behind her, the males stood silently, watching her reaction nervously as though waiting for judgment from a queen.
Tessa turned around dramatically.
