Janice smiled guiltily. She then pulled Rob to the side and whispered, "Could you please keep this a secret? He doesn't know that I'm here."
Rob froze and said awkwardly, "This..."
"I know you don't want him to worry. I'll go back in two days. I'll tell him myself.
Please." Janice implored.
Rob paused and frowned. Later he said, "Alright, then I won't talk to Mr. Bateman for now. However, it's best if you go back as soon as possible."
Janice was grateful. "I will. I will return as soon as possible."
Hearing this, Rob nodded. He looked over at Joey who was standing by. Later, he stepped forward and patted him on the shoulder, then left.
After Rob left, Joey slowly turned to look at his departing back, and a complicated expression appeared in his eyes.
Soon, the door of the emergency room opened, and a doctor in a white overall came out.
Joey hurried to greet him. "Doctor, how is the child?"
