Chapter 22 - Chapter 17 - Déjà Vu? Not Again

Jay's POV

It's been one week since the whole Section E has been ignoring me.

Well, not everyone

because that kid hasn't come for a week.

He literally ghosted me

not even picking up my calls

I don't know what happened to him.

I couldn't even talk to the girls.

Rakki is busy with her practice.

The twins have a whole other group

So I was all alone.

Well, I'm kind of used to it now.

I was stupid

when I thought that me and Percy were friends.

That guy literally looked so guilty when Aries saw us together

Well, anyone would if they saw Aries's face at that time.

It's so clear he doesn't want me anywhere near his friends.

 ding

ding

ding

Yes, finally, the last class of the day.

But my happiness ended as soon as it started.

It was Ma'am Cindy's class.

"Oh God, please clean your class," she said as soon as she entered.

Agreed, it needed cleaning badly

; it looked like a garbage yard,

and we looked like garbage collectors.

"Just clean your class, and I won't take your class," she said and left immediately.

I looked around at my fellow classmates

and they were already moving out.

Ugh,

not again

I am not cleaning the class again

I am not falling for this trap again

not when they were acting like I didn't exist for a whole week.

I turned around to take my bag and go home.

Just as I reached the door,

 a large figure stopped me.

He pointed his finger at my forehead to stop me.

"Where do you think you're going?" that asshole said

"Oh, I'm going to the moon want to join me?" I said with my plastered smile.

"Tss, can't give a straight answer, can you?" he said, moving closer

"Don't test my patience here… same old, clean the room," he said.

"No, what will you do? I WON'T clean the room not when you were ignoring me for a week," I said, raising my voice.

"Tss, you really get on my nerves, you know. I control myself just because you are Aries's cousin,"

he said, closing the remaining distance between us I could feel his body heat.

"You know, I don't like to repeat myself, so shut up and clean the room, or else you won't like the consequences," he whispered in my ear.

And just like that, he closed the door in my face.

Fuck, not again

I want to go home!

So, having no choice,

I took the broom and started cleaning the room,

which was horribly covered in dust.

I wiped off the covers, cleared the water dispenser, and swept up every corner.

Just as I reached the door side of the room,

I could hear Section E whispering.

"Now what are you going to do your plan failed," someone said probably Yuri.

Plan?

What plan?

Are they talking about me?

"I told you, she is different," Keifer said.

"We have to go hardcore on this one," Hari continued.

Finally, my one brain-celled brain processed it.

So they thought if they ignored me for a week, I would feel alone and leave the class.

Grow up, man, grow up.

I've seen worse

way worse.

And if they think I'm leaving anytime soon,

then they are way too wrong.

You are messing with the wrong bitch.

Finally, I was done.

I banged on the door a little too hard.

Sorry, door kuya,

I just can't help it.

But no one opened it,

so I banged even harder twice.

Damn it

I felt bad for door kuya again.

I took a deep breath,

 trying to calm down,

and then Keifer opened the door.

 He looked around, almost frozen.

"What?" I asked, trying to keep my voice steady.

"Why did you remove the covers?" he asked,

his face tight with confusion.

What, can't he see that the class looked way better without them?

"So that I can wear them and dance," I said, and that earned a glare from Hari.

"It's still dirty," he muttered with that smug look on his face.

"Huh?"

He gestured to Felix,

and Felix brought another bag, not meeting my eyes.

Keifer grabbed it and dumped everything right back onto the cleaned floor.

The foul smell hit me immediately—garbage, dust, everything.

"See, still dirty," he sneered, that infuriating smirk on his face.

"Okay, you want to play this way? Fine."

I grabbed the garbage bag I had filled and dumped it all over that asshole.

"Shit."

"She is screwed."

"Uh-oh."

"Damn."

Everyone's reactions were instant,

but Keifer's face was the one to watch.

"What the fuck?" he shouted.

"You stupid woman!" he roared again, making me step back a little.

"Call Yuri fast," someone yelled.

I was breathing hard,

 fists clenched,

but before I could say anything,

 Yuri walked in, frowning.

"What happened here?" he asked, his eyes moving between us.

Both of us pointed at each other

"She started it."

"He started it."

We both yelled together

"Stop copying me!" we again said at the same time

The class was silent as Yuri rubbed his temples.

"Aren't you ashamed of yourselves?" he said.

We didn't answer.

"You're acting like children. Both of you clean this mess, right now."Nobody moved."Or you'll stay here forever."

"There's no such thing as forever," I muttered before I could stop myself.

Yuri gave me a sharp look.

"I'm not cleaning," Keifer said, arms crossed.

"I'm the class president."

"Dictator," I muttered.

"What?"

"Nothing."

Yuri sighed and looked at Keifer.

"David is coming back."

The entire class went quiet.

Even Keifer froze.

"He called me yesterday he'll be back soon. Now clean this mess."

Without another word, he left, and the door clicked shut behind him.

Keifer slumped against the wall.

I sat down in a corner, both of us exhausted.

After a few minutes, frustration took over.

I grabbed the broom, started sweeping aggressively.

And, surprisingly, Keifer joined.

After a while, I asked, "Who's David?"

like I know who he is but I was getting bored so why not

No answer.

Silence.

"He was the original class president, right?"

Keifer finally hummed in response

literally just a "hmm"

I was stunned.

Then I asked again "why don't you want me in section E ??"

"tss you ask too many questions " he said

Before I could answer, he stood up.

"Done."

What?

He finished already?

He banged on the door,

 and after a few seconds,

it opened.

I grabbed my bag, and we both walked out.

And that's when I saw Aries in the corridor.

Arms crossed

 glaring at me.

He grabbed my wrist without a word.

"Come."

Hello to you too.

Then someone shouted,

 "Aries!"

"keifer!"

"There is no way!"

"It's back."

The hallway was packed

students gathered around the notice board,

 whispering, pointing, arguing.

Even Section E was unusually quiet—terrifyingly quiet.

I squeezed through the crowd,

and finally, I saw the notice.

At the top, in bold black letters:

I leave for a few days and you all start behaving.

How boring.

Okay besties 💕

I hope you all are doing well!

So... how was the chapter? Did you enjoy it?

I know this chapter might have felt a little repetitive, and I'm sorry about that 😭. A few of the upcoming chapters are based on events from the original book, so there are some scenes and concepts that I can't completely skip.

But I wanted to ask you guys something. If you think I should keep the same concepts and important events but not repeat the chapters too closely, then please let me know. I'd really love to hear your thoughts on that because your feedback genuinely helps me decide how to handle these chapters.

Also, I know I've been uploading late, but trust me, I am trying my best. I have a lot on my plate right now, and balancing everything has been a little difficult.

For now, I'll try to upload alternately—one week on this book and one week on my other book. So please bear with me for a little longer 🫶

And don't forget to tell me your thoughts, theories, favourite moments, and everything else in the comments!

See you soon in the next chapter.
