Chapter 21 - Chapter 15 - Sharing One Brain Cell

Keifer's pov

I am really confused.

One moment Aries's expression is like he wants to throw Jay out of the window.

And the next moment they are somehow syncing with everything they do.

It's really hard to decide how to behave with her.

Like I really want to follow Aries's lead.

But he himself seems confused.

And...

Well, I have a feeling that Percy is soon going to switch sides.

And seeing her and Aries like this, I really, really want to know what actually went wrong.

And I need more information on her.

Because I seriously need her out of my section.

"Are you going to say what you are thinking, or are we just going to stare at the carpet like we're in love with it?" Yuri's voice pulled me back.

I looked up.

"I am guessing you're also thinking about our lovely cousin duo and how to get more information on her," Yuri continued.

"According to my extremely handsome calculations, he definitely has something cooking in that head of his," Percy said.

Yuri rolled his eyes.

"Those calculations were wrong the moment you called yourself handsome."

"Jealousy is a disease."

"And stupidity is a choice."

"Then why do you keep choosing it?"

"Why do you keep breathing?"

"Guys," I cut in before they could continue.

Two pairs of eyes turned towards me.

"Yes." they said at the same time

"I have a plan."

.

;)

.

Jay's pov

When I woke up it was almost 9:45 am.

Uhhhhh.

I don't want to wake up.

But I am hungry.

And the main thing is I have to make breakfast.

Because the maids are on holiday.

Should I go to Mini Mart?

Noooo.

I can't go.

I have very little allowance and almost half of the month is remaining.

I did my morning routine fast because I was extremely hungry.

When I got downstairs all 4 idiots were not downstairs.

Either they are upstairs or I am alone in the house.

Who cares about those suckers.

I put on my earbuds.

To be young and in love in New York City

To not know who I am, but still know that I'm good long as you're here with me

To be drunk and in love in New York City

Midnight into morning coffee

Burning through the hours talking

God.

When will I get my Peter Kavinsky?

I love him so much.

Uhhhh.

And this song man.

I can hear this on loop forever.

"DAMN, I LIKE ME BETTER WHEN I AM WITH YOU!" I sang along with the song while trying to find a good breakfast option.

"Uffoo!"

A cold shiver went through my body as cold air hit my neck.

Wtf.

Who is that?

I turned around just to see Yuri.

"Are you mad? No... are you a ghost?!" I shouted at him.

"Jesss, relax," he said while pulling both his hands up in surrender. "I called you but you didn't hear me."

"Why are you still here? Don't you guys have a home of your own?" I asked him.

"That's a very rude thing to say to a guest."

"Then behave like one."

Yuri placed a hand over his chest.

"That hurt."

"Good."

"You enjoy hurting people?"

"Only specific people."

"I'm honored."

"You shouldn't be."

He looked around the kitchen.

"What are you doing?"

"Trying to make breakfast."

"Trying?"

I glared at him.

"Wow. Such confidence in my abilities."

"I prefer honesty."

"I prefer silence."

"Then why are you talking?"

"Why are you breathing?"

"Fair point."

I narrowed my eyes.

Something was wrong.

Yuri was voluntarily talking to me.

That alone should qualify as a national emergency.

"Why are you being weird?"

"I'm not."

"You are."

"No."

"Yes."

"No."

"Yuri."

"Jay."

"You are being weird."

"And you are making breakfast. We all make mistakes."

I gasped dramatically.

"That was rude."

"I learned from the best."

"Who?"

"You."

I pointed a knife at him.

"Leave."

He took one look at the knife.

"See? Violent."

"Leave."

"No."

"Why?"

"I'm bored."

Of course.

That was probably the most Yuri answer possible.

A few minutes later he somehow ended up helping me.

I still don't know how.

One moment he was insulting my cooking skills.

The next moment he was standing beside me cutting vegetables.

"What happened to being a guest?" I asked.

"What happened to being a decent host?"

"Touche."

For the next few minutes we worked in silence.

Well...

Mostly silence.

Yuri spent half the time criticizing everything I did.

Apparently I held the knife wrong.

Cut vegetables wrong.

Mixed things wrong.

Breathed wrong.

Existing wrong.

It was honestly impressive.

Finally the food was done.

And it actually looked edible.

I smiled proudly.

Not burnt.

Not raw.

Not poisoned.

A huge achievement.

I reached for the plate.

So did Yuri.

I frowned.

"That's mine."

"No."

"Excuse me?"

"I helped."

"You cut like three vegetables."

"Four."

"That changes nothing."

"It changes the number."

"Yuri."

"Jay."

"Give it."

"No."

"Give."

"No."

"Give."

"No."

I grabbed the plate.

He pulled it back.

I pulled harder.

And then

The plate slipped.

Crash.

Silence.

We both stared at the floor.

My breakfast.

Gone.

Destroyed.

Ruined.

A tragedy.

"You dropped it."

"You attacked me."

"You started it."

"You continued it."

I looked at the mess.

Then at him.

Then back at the mess.

I was genuinely heartbroken.

Before I could recover, Yuri grabbed the remaining food from the counter.

I blinked.

"What are you doing?"

"Surviving."

"That's mine."

"Not anymore."

I stared at him.

The audacity.

The confidence.

The complete lack of shame.

"Yuri."

"Jay."

"Give it back."

"No."

"I am hungry."

"So am I."

"I made it."

"I improved it."

"I hate you."

"Get in line."

Then he picked up the plate and started walking away.

I stood there in shock.

A few minutes ago he was helping me cook.

Now he had stolen my breakfast.

What kind of character development was that?

Seriously.

The moment I thought one of these idiots was becoming normal, they went right back to proving me wrong.

After Yuri stole my breakfast, I managed to eat whatever little was left.

Unfortunately, it wasn't enough.

I was still hungry.

And I was definitely not making breakfast again.

Not after the tragedy I had just witnessed.

So I ended up going to Mini Mart.

Who cares about my allowance?

That's a future me problem.

Present me was hungry.

And hungry me makes terrible financial decisions.

After eating, I spent most of the day doing absolutely nothing productive.

A successful Sunday if you ask me.

By the time evening rolled around, I got a call from Rakkhi.

Apparently she, Mia and Mica were hanging out near my house.

And she invited me too.

Honestly?

Why not.

I was new to the school.

And they were genuinely sweet girls.

Unlike certain sections I could name.

A few minutes later I met up with them.

Most of the time we just talked.

School gossip.

Teachers.

Assignments.

More school gossip.

And somehow even more school gossip.

I was beginning to understand why Rakkhi always knew everything.

The girl probably had spies hidden across the entire school.

But one question kept bothering me.

Finally I gave up.

"Can I ask something?"

The three girls looked towards me.

"Why does Section E hate having girls in their section so much?"

I paused.

"I don't think they're allergic to girls."

The moment I finished speaking I noticed Mia suddenly looking very interested in literally anything except us.

Hmm.

Interesting.

Rakkhi laughed.

"Trust me. They aren't allergic."

"Then what is it?"

The girls exchanged looks.

"Well..." Rakkhi started.

"You know the whole Blair thing right?"

I nodded.

"A little."

A little meaning almost nothing.

Everyone kept giving me different versions.

At this point I was collecting theories.

Not facts.

"Let me guess," I said.

"Classic love triangle?"

They looked at me.

"Blair, Keifer and David?"

Mica almost choked on her drink.

Mia burst out laughing.

Even Rakkhi looked offended.

"What?"

"Do you watch too many dramas?" Rakkhi asked.

"Maybe."

"No."

"Definitely."

"Okay maybe."

Rakkhi shook her head.

"It wasn't like that."

"Then what happened?"

She shrugged.

"Depends on who you ask."

Helpful.

Very helpful.

"According to some people, Section E got blamed for things that weren't entirely their fault."

"According to others, Keifer made things worse."

I frowned.

"What do you mean?"

Rakkhi hesitated.

"Let's just say some people think he handled things badly."

Before I could ask more, Mia interrupted.

"But it wasn't all his fault."

We looked at her.

She shrugged.

"Blair wasn't innocent either."

"So whose fault was it?" I asked.

"and what exactly happened??"

The three girls exchanged looks.

Finally Rakkhi sighed.

"Fine. But remember this is just what I heard."

Which basically meant:

School gossip.

But school gossip was better than no gossip.

"A year ago there was this anonymous confession page."

I frowned.

"Like those pages where people confess crushes and stuff?"

"At first, yes."

Rakkhi nodded.

"But then it got ugly."

"How ugly?"

"Very ugly."

Well.

That sounded promising.

"People started posting rumors."

"Secrets."

"Fake confessions."

Mica added quietly.

"Some students got bullied because of it."

Mia nodded.

"And some friendships got ruined."

Okay.

That was definitely worse than I expected.

"So where does Blair fit into all this?"

"Blair got transferred to Section E around that time," Rakkhi said.

"And after that people started connecting the confession page to Section E."

"Why?"

Rakkhi shrugged.

"Because most of the posts suddenly seemed to involve students from Section E."

"That's suspicious."

"Exactly."

"But suspicious doesn't mean guilty."

Mia immediately cut in.

"Nobody actually proved it was them."

Rakkhi rolled her eyes.

"Maybe."

"Not maybe."

Mia argued.

"There wasn't any proof."

"So what happened?"

"The school investigated."

"The confession page disappeared."

"And somehow Section E ended up taking most of the blame."

I frowned.

"That's unfair."

"Tell that to Keifer."

Rakkhi said.

"He was vice president back then."

"Class president," Mica corrected softly.

"Whatever."

Rakkhi waved her hand.

"The point is people expected him and David to defend the section."

"And they didn't?"

Mia hesitated.

"They tried."

Rakkhi snorted.

"Not hard enough."

The twins exchanged a look.

Clearly they had argued about this before.

"So some people blame Blair."

I started counting on my fingers.

"Some people blame Section E."

Another finger.

"And some people blame Keifer?"

"And some people blame David?"

"Pretty much."

Rakkhi nodded.

"Why Keifer?"

"Because after everything happened, he wasn't ready to accept the punishment."

She leaned back.

"Some people think he shouldn't've fought harder."

"Some people think david gave up."

Before I could process that, Mia spoke again.

"But what was he supposed to do?"

"There wasn't any proof."

"So maybe he made the best decision he could."

Silence.

Great.

Now I had 4 suspects.

Blair.

Section E.

david

And

ofc

Keifer

And somehow I still had no idea who was actually responsible.

By the time I reached home, my social battery was somehow both full and dead at the same time.

I freshened up and changed into something comfortable.

Now what?

I looked around.

The house was quiet.

Too quiet.

Suspiciously quiet.

The idiots were probably still here somewhere.

Unfortunately.

Since I had already eaten enough with Rakkhi, Mia and Mica, I wasn't hungry anymore.

Which left me with one problem.

I was bored.

Very bored.

The dangerous kind of bored.

I put on my earbuds and opened my playlist.

Shuffle mode.

One of the greatest inventions known to mankind.

Thank you Spotify Premium.

The first song started playing.

Soon enough I was vibing around the kitchen while trying to make a dessert.

I wasn't exactly cooking.

More like aggressively mixing ingredients and hoping for the best.

The song changed.

"Made You Look."

Immediately the main character syndrome kicked in.

I grabbed a spoon and pointed it dramatically at my reflection.

Perfect.

Absolutely perfect. (a/n: guys I have add link off the dance do watch to understand better)

*"I could have my Gucci on *

I could wear my louis Vuitton

but even with nothing on

bet I made you look

(I made you look )

For the next few minutes I was dancing around the kitchen like I was starring in my own music video.

Not a good one.

But still.

My earbuds suddenly died.

Seriously?

Now?

I groaned and connected my phone to the speaker instead.

The music continued playing through the kitchen.

At least nobody was around to witness this.

Or so I thought.

A second later I felt someone

I turned around.

Percy.

Of course.

"What the hell?"

"I'm bored."

"That's not my problem."

"It is now."

We stared at each other.

I sighed.

Sometimes violence really was the answer.

The song ended.

A familiar beat started playing.

Percy's eyes widened.

"No way."

I frowned.

"What?"

"Wait."

He pointed dramatically towards the speaker.

"Don't change it."

"I wasn't planning to."

Before I could even finish speaking, Percy started singing along dramatically.

Loudly.

Very loudly. (a/n: guys I have add link off the dance do watch to understand better)

"Oppan Gangnam style

Gangnam style

Areumdawo sarangseureowo

Geurae neo hey geurae baro neo hey"

Then came the famous dance step.

The horse dance.

Jigeumbuteo gal dekkaji gabolkka

Oppan Gangnam style

Gangnam style

Op, op, op, op

Oppan Gangnam style

Gangnam style

"Oh my god."

I covered my face.

"This is embarrassing."

"You're embarrassing."

"You're literally dancing."

"Exactly."

I watched him continue.

Completely shameless.

Completely committed.

Completely insane.

After a few seconds I couldn't help laughing.

"What?"

"You look ridiculous."

"Join me."

"No."

"Join me."

"No."

"Join me."

"..."

Op, op, op, op

Oppan Gangnam style

Eh, sexy lady

Op, op, op, op

Oppan Gangnam style

A few seconds later I was doing the same dance.

Op, op, op, op

Oppan Gangnam style

I hated myself.

The song ended.

Another one started.

The Six Seven remix. (a/n: guys I have add link off the dance do watch to understand better)

Aí, Dj Cabello

O Dj Tchouzen

Percy looked at me.

I looked at Percy.

"Oh no."

"Oh yes."

And somehow we both already knew the steps.

Tava na escola, fazendo lição

Aí a professora falou "vou passar a questão"

For the next few minutes we danced around the kitchen like complete idiots.

No dignity.

No shame.

Just chaos.

Honestly?

It was kind of fun.

.

.

Keifer's pov

Me and Yuri were finally leaving.

Apparently Angelo was coming back tonight.

Which meant it was time for us to go home too.

All we needed was Percy.

Simple.

Or at least it should have been.

As we walked downstairs, voices reached us from the study area.

Followed by laughter.

Lots of laughter.

Yuri frowned.

I frowned.

That couldn't be good.

We walked closer.

And immediately froze.

The sight in front of us was...

something.

Percy and Jay were dancing in the middle of the room.

Not normal dancing.

Idiot dancing.

The kind where two people somehow share a single brain cell.

The music blasted through the speakers.

Both of them were laughing.

Neither of them seemed remotely embarrassed.

I looked at Yuri.

Yuri looked at me.

Neither of us had words.

"What are they doing?" Yuri finally asked.

"I have no idea."

And somehow that was the scary part.

Because they looked like they were actually having fun.

I watched Percy spin dramatically before nearly losing his balance.

Jay laughed.

Percy pointed at her.

She pointed back.

The idiots continued.

A hand suddenly landed on my shoulder.

I turned around.

Aries.

His eyes were fixed on the scene in front of him.

His expression didn't change.

Not even a little.

But somehow that made it worse.

For a second nobody said anything.

We all just watched.

Percy laughed at something Jay said.

And that's when it hit me.

We hadn't even finalized the plan yet.

And somehow...

This idiot was already switching sides.
