I remain where I say, keeping my presence low as possible in the event that the chief notices me. Usually there are other members with the chiefs so the others are still close by, finding more people in this mato mishap.
Mato mishaps are events where either people are pulled into Mato, like the case in front of me. The number of people can vary but it always random and it only occurs in Japan even the gates connecting to Mato are only found in Japan.
And the other event is where a gate is open in Mato allowing to go through into the human world and ravage everything in sight, like the event back in that village I stayed at for a bit.
Speaking of that village, that one horned Shuuki is still out there and my birds have been actively searching and so far nothing.
Could it be that it's underground somewhere?
And another thing is that white hair woman reminds me of someone from that village but I can't put a name to her face.
I shook my head to cast away the useless thought and continued to watch. The woman and her Shuuki pet continue to fight slicing or punching down any who got close.
The pet shuuki leaped ahead to fight more, its instinct to fight is impossible to ignore as it swatted away Shuuki after Shuuki until two grabbed its arms, restraining it before a third came from behind and ripped its head off.
The woman on the other hand is doing fine, her movements were clean and precise. All of it looked perfect, down to last detail, it's obvious she trained a long time and hard as well.
The white haired woman glance over after wiping her sword of Shuuki blood with just a swing while the man is behind her, frozen.
In place like Mato, freezing is not a very ideal thing.
The clicked her tongue at site of her pet getting killed before place her boot on the back of an injured one and place her hand on the back of its neck as a bright light emerged between the contact, making me look away briefly.
Looking back I find the Shuuki is back to full health and with a collar and chains similar to the other one had.
I see, so her ability can make Shuuki submissive towards her and be under her control, I wonder what effect it has against other beings.
I lean forward slightly, more interested on how far her ability goes than the boy who has a weird feeling coming off of him, I can't put my finger on it but hopefully I will find out soon enough.
The woman gets on her Shuuki as she calls out the boy. The boy immediately gets on after a slight hesitation before riding off somewhere.
I don't follow them but my eyes track where they went but one of my crows lands on my shoulder as I pull out a small piece of bread for it to eat.
After it swallows its snack I lean towards it slightly before conveying my order, "follow them, keep out of sight"
With the order given, the bird lets out a caw before flying high in the sky after them. I watch as the bird continues to fly before I close my eyes and watch what it sees.
My vision shifts to once on the ground floor to the open air of Mato, gazing down I found the trio running from a horde of Shuuki.
They continued to chase them before some were gunned down as a vehicle came up beside them.
Inside in the drivers seat is a woman with sea-green hair tied in a bow on the back of her head with long bangs brushed to the right side of her head and amber eyes. Her arm is currently a mini gun before it reverts back to normal by a blue glow.
At the back seat is another woman with short golden-blonde hair and green eyes. And finally in the seat next to the driver is a...
Is... that a child... in demon defence force uniform?
They enlist children?!
What the fuck is wrong with these people?!
The little girl has long pink hair and blue eyes, currently she has her hands together and an aura around her before pointing in a direction.
I used the crows eyes to see where she was pointing and not too far away, out of their sight is a young boy unconscious.
Impressive, must be a support ability if she can find someone well hidden and out of view of them.
Will she be able to see me and try bird?
Better be cautious and remain a fair distance away, in the event I am discovered I can just retreat or better yet fight them.
The team splits off as the vehicle comes to a stop before the short haired woman jumps out as she grows in size, towering over all creatures in the area, her punch's leave craters and her steps kick up dust.
Slow but strong, the brute of the group.
After she cleared some of the Shuuki away, the other woman jumped out of car and transformed her arm into the same mini-gun as before. She let out a volley of bullets, gunning down groups upon groups.
The tall woman fought as she walked over to where the boy was before picking him up, carefully and well aware of her increased size and strength. She brought him over to vehicle and decreased her size rapidly until she placed him down on the back.
The boy was still unconscious as the little girl moved to the back to examine him. The other girl doesn't stop firing as the Shuuki keep coming until their number thin down before scattering off.
Now let's check up on the other people. I guide the bird to the other group to find them inside a small barrier with several cracks around it with hundreds of Shuuki around them on all sides.
The pet Shuuki is no where to be seen so I can only guess it's dead. Inside the barrier the white haired woman stands firm with her katana implanted over a burning talisman. Behind her is the boy and in his arms is a scared little girl curled up against him.
Is this seriously a chief, can't be, their strength is enough to easily take down normal Shuuki. Then again, she is forced to protect 2 people who don't know how to fight and are fragile so her focus is constantly shifted.
Its the same with an online game, team death is straightforward and requires your own skill with hints of teammates in the mix but with objective games its not a matter of just skill, its strategy and working with your team as well.
Killing the enemy doesn't just win an objective game mode, you need to capture the enemy objective like capture the flag or king of the hill.
Either way, it's a different game when it comes to defending something, your focus is constantly shifted, putting pressure on your mind and forcing you to think of a plan to avoid losing.
I notice the white haired woman turn around before crouching down in front of the boy as the little girl moves away from them before she puts hands over her ears and close her eyes.
I couldn't hear what they were saying so I'll need to rely on their actions to understand.
The next second after that thought, the white haired woman pushed the boy on the ground and... sits on top of him.
What the fuck?
Are these people okay?
Right in front of a child, what the fuck!?
It gets weirder as the woman takes off her glove and puts it close to the boys mouth.
Just what kind of fetishes do these people have?
After a moment the boy lifts his upper body to... lick her finger.
...I wanna pour bleach over my eyes.
But just as the boys tongue touches the woman's finger a pillar of energy shoots up into the sky, breaking the barrier around them and push the Shuuki back.
Inside the pillar I can see the boys body lift into the air as blue chains wrap around him and cocoon his body before it explodes open and his new body lands softly on the ground.
His new body has change to that of some kind of mix of a Shuuki and a wolf with its pointed ears, his body has grown to that of a Shuuki and is pure white as if darkness reflects off his skin, sharp fangs and claws with a blade on his elbows.
A metal spiked collar with a chain coming from it is attached to his neck, his upper body bares red tattoo markings with the only piece of clothing being the lower garments.
Steam escapes his body and he remains in a hunched position, almost like he's in a daze, probably due to power he gained and I would do the same as that is a massive amount of energy he gained, he seems to be at the brink of a special Shuuki but that's it.
It's completely different when it's done to humans, what about animals, like dogs and cats. The ability seems to boost the enslaved individual strength and changes their body to be combat oriented.
The Shuuki stumble back a bit from the sudden transformation and the pillar of energy before one of them leaped in to kill the now transformed boy.
The boys posture straightened up before he drove his hand through the chest of the demon before pulling back and screaming out to the sky as the air was visibly pushed back.
The white haired woman grabbed the child and jumped on the boys back before grabbing his chains and giving him an order that I can't hear.
The boy yelled out as he sped around, slicing and dicing up the Shuuki around him. He leaped around from rock to rock.
His movements to the naked eye would be hard to follow but for me and probably Shikoku and the others, it's easy to follow.
The way he fights is like a child, flailing random hit to something, hoping it would hit. Against a Shuuki that would work but against beings with intelligence and experience that's nothing but disappointment.
The boy leaped up high to where the others have came to witness the transformation. The white haired woman jumped down and let go of the child as she and the boy, who the other group rescued, embraced each other.
Siblings, most definitely.
Just as the atmosphere around was peaceful, a loud roar and the ground rumbling brought their attention back to the enemy as the Shuuki appeared to be combining themselves as usual when they come across a threat they can't handle as a group.
The creature towered over all of them as it stared them down. The white woman got on the back of the boy and walk forward towards the towering giant.
The members got the children and drove off at a safe distance away as the boy leaped up with energy cackling around his hand.
The giant responded to this leap by launching a massive boulder towards them but the woman and the boy cut it in half with easy.
The Shuuki thrusted its hand forward and extend its fingers, trying to drive them back, but they were all sliced out used as placements for the boy to jump off of.
Suddenly a wave of orange energy enveloped them before they launched themselves like a missile down upon the giants face.
The impact completely obliterated its head and sliced open its torso a bit but as a dramatic finale it exploded, kicking up dust that forced the other group to shield their faces and it pushed back my bird.
Once the dust cleared and all that was left were the corpses of the demons, the boy reverted back to his original state only for him to drop on his hands and knees, breathing heavily.
As the white woman gazed down on him with a fist on her hip, her mind must be replaying the power he displayed to her and its uses.
Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if she recruited him considering he took on a giant Shuuki and they are by no means weak to the demon defence force.
She continues to stare him down until the other members drive over to pick them up but after a few seconds they drive off... leaving them behind?
My brows furrow in confusion, what are they doing?
The white haired woman walks forward as the boy stumbles back but she continues to walk to him and without hesitation...presses her lips against his.
Okay, just what the fuck?
As I continue to watch, it gets steamer and steamer to point it turns into a make session. I cut the connection as my vision returns to my original body, I don't want to see what happens next if it reaches the next level but either way, the data I gather would be interesting for Shikoku to go through since another man gain power but this time it's through a peach ability so she'll have a nice time with it.
'Follow them and keep an eye on the unit they came from, alert me if they leave the dormitory' I ordered mentally to the bird.
"Ryu" I summon the Chinese dragon as I jump on its back as he lets out a low rumble, "I know, I missed you too big guy" I stroked his, surprisingly, soft body.
Ryu flew high up, above the clouds and out of sight as, the travel back was peaceful as the wind blew against our body's.
I turn my head slightly to look back where we came as a smirk rose up on my lips, something tells me this won't be the last time I see that boy.
