Lirien's POV
The afternoon sun came softly through the hospital window, filling the room with a gentle, warm light. I was sitting up in bed with extra pillows behind my back. My body still felt weak and tired, but I could stay awake longer now without getting dizzy. It was a small victory, but it made me feel a little stronger.
Vael sat on my right side, holding my hand gently like he was afraid to let go. Davis sat on my left, slowly rubbing my arm in slow, comforting circles. Both of them looked at me with so much love and worry in their eyes. It made my chest feel warm.
I felt the babies move a little inside me. It was a small, fluttering feeling, like tiny butterflies. Three little lives. Our babies. Every time I felt them, a soft smile came to my lips.
Vael looked at me for a long time. His golden eyes were serious but kind. Finally, he spoke in a soft voice.
"Lirien," he said, "we found the person who shot you."
