In the end, Shun was still dragged by Seele to an ordinary shop in London to buy one piece of clothing probably because the extravagant decor of Harrods had scared Seele.
However, Seele still came up slightly short in her goal, because the shop she chose to save money turned out to be a private tailor shop. This little silly girl thought she was actually saving money for Shun and was happily pleased with herself.
Shun asked Seele why she wanted to save money for him, but Seele wouldn't say. If pressed for a reason, Seele would only reply, "I've already caused big brother a lot of trouble I can't trouble him any more."
Shun had no way to argue; he really couldn't out-stubborn this girl. In truth, Shun wasn't short on money at all. After Gray Serpent acknowledged him as his adoptive father, he had directly given Shun a Swiss bank black card, calling it filial respect. Shun figured it was probably World Serpent's operating funds.
But since World Serpent was such a loaded dog-rich organization, Shun accepted it without any politeness and spent without heartache unlike before his transmigration, when even ordering from Meituan required using inflation god coupons, and accidentally clicking on a national-trend package counted as winning the lottery.
In the end, Shun selected a white dress in the shop that fit Seele's size perfectly. It somewhat resembled a skin from a game Shun had played he bought it because it looked familiar. It ultimately cost twenty thousand pounds. When paying, Seele wasn't around; otherwise, she probably would have started shedding little pearl tears.
"By the way, Seele, are you hungry? You haven't had anything to eat in the Sea of Quanta either, right?" For Seele, the daughter of the sea, even without eating in the sea, simply absorbing ether energy (quantum) was enough to cover daily consumption. But back in the native world, unconventional replenishment methods might be limited to Honkai energy.
But that stuff was too dangerous even a slightly high concentration could accidentally trigger a Honkai outbreak. Plus, satisfying one's appetite was one of humanity's most basic needs.
"I'll listen to big brother." Seele replied with a sweet smile.
"Then let's find an Italian restaurant, or a French one, or a Chinese one." Shun thought for a moment and said directly.
"Huh? Big brother, why not eat British food since we're in Britain?" Seele asked in confusion.
Shun patted Seele's head and said, "Seele, what do you think of the dish called 'Stargazy pie'? It's the most famous British dish, you know."
Seele clearly had never heard of the infamous Stargazy pie. After thinking for a moment, she said, "Stargazy pie... it sounds like a very pretty dish. The taste should be really good, right?"
Shun nearly laughed himself to death. Girl, ahead lies hell! Shun silently opened his phone, searched for Stargazy pie, and handed it to Seele for her to see.
"Th-This... what is this..." Seele was at a loss for words for a moment. What were these piles of dead fish heads stuck in the pie? Was this thing really edible?
"Heh, Stargazy pie." Shun explained. Seele's little face paled several shades upon hearing it.
"Seele~ So, do you still want to eat British food?" Shun put his phone away and prepared to search for some well-reviewed restaurants on it. Though star-rated ones were out of the question those required reservations.
Still, he'd heard that a Swiss bank black card could do a lot of things with plenty of privileges. But Shun wasn't the type to show off unless he hooked a fish weighing over ten pounds, then he'd "get lost" for a bit.
Black card? What could be better for showing off than reeling in a big fish?
Sigh, that was Shun for you. A fishing enthusiast only needed to avoid getting skunked, but Shun had a lot more to consider.
"Then I'll obediently listen to big brother." Seele deflated like a punctured ball, realizing she'd embarrassed herself, and quietly shut her mouth.
"Sigh, it's nothing. I just have a bit more life experience than you, that's all. You'll understand in the future, Seele. Come on, let's go eat."
After finishing a meal that could barely be called lunch, Shun took Seele to the London Eye.
"Wow, so tall!" For Seele, who had basically spent her whole life in an orphanage, the 135-meter London Eye was currently the tallest building she'd ever seen.
The two waited in a very long line before finally boarding the world's most famous Ferris wheel. As it slowly rose, the cityscape of London gradually unfolded before their eyes. Night had fallen by then, and the entire city was illuminated by brilliant lights, like a vibrant, colorful painting.
Looking down from the Ferris wheel, the lights along both banks of the Thames twinkled, forming a dazzling ribbon of light that made the river seem dreamlike and illusory. The buildings and bridges by the river were also adorned with lights, exuding unique charm. In the distance, Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament stood especially solemn and mysterious in the night, inspiring awe at the historical depth of this ancient city.
At the highest point of the Ferris wheel, they overlooked the entire London area and felt an unparalleled sense of beauty. This city brimmed with life and vitality; every detail radiated a rich cultural atmosphere. They immersed themselves in this wonderful night view, as if forgetting all worries and simply enjoying the tranquility and beauty of the moment.
Even though one full rotation of the London Eye took a solid half hour, both Shun and Seele felt a little reluctant for it to end.
"Even big brother has never ridden the London Eye before?" Seele asked, somewhat puzzled.
"Silly child, I'm not some superman. Let alone the London Eye this is my first time in London too. Don't think I'm omnipotent." Although Seele idolizing him was undoubtedly something that made Shun happy, his abilities weren't as all-powerful as Seele imagined.
Yes, to Seele, Shun who had appeared in her moment of greatest loneliness and despair and brought her back to the native world was undoubtedly an omnipotent hero. But only Shun himself knew that he couldn't even do the basics perfectly. Finding Kevin had been a gamble; the one who brought them out was Su. The only thing he could truly rely on was his knowledge of this world.
But even that knowledge was gradually losing effectiveness due to his butterfly effect. Perhaps one day, all the plot points he knew would become completely invalid. The future of this world might grow chaotic because of his existence.
But Seele just thought big brother was really amazing. She couldn't understand Shun's self-deprecation at all. Blinking her big, watery eyes filled with confusion and bewilderment, she really couldn't fathom why Shun would evaluate himself this way when in her heart, Shun had always been incredibly powerful.
"Alright, alright, let's not talk about that for now. We definitely can't leave London tonight, so let's find a hotel to stay in." Since Shun's most important issue his household registration had already been handled by his all-powerful adoptive son Gray Serpent, there were no more identity problems.
In other words, he was no longer a blacklisted person. Though this identity wouldn't withstand close scrutiny, it was at least a legal one.
"Let's go, let's go." Shun led Seele toward a hotel, but he didn't notice that the girl now holding his arm had become a different person.
