The weekend finally arrived, and for once Dahye didn't have to rush to Lumina Studio or worry about project deadlines.
Instead, she was in the passenger seat of Yu Na's car, with Nari lazily scrolling through her phone in the back seat as they drove out of the city.
They were heading to another city for a visit that had become a tradition over the years.
To see their mothers.
The skyline slowly changed as they drove, tall office buildings giving way to quieter streets and luxury districts. Soon, the enormous structure of their mothers' business came into view.
A very big hotel, famous across the region.
Glass walls reflected the sunlight like mirrors, and the entrance driveway curved around a fountain surrounded by perfectly trimmed hedges.
Even though the three of them had grown up watching the place evolve, it still amazed them.
Yu Na parked the car and leaned back with a sigh.
"Every time I see this place, I still can't believe our moms built it."
Nari smirked.
"From a tiny motel with five rooms."
Dahye chuckled.
"And a broken coffee machine that exploded every other day."
They all laughed.
They remembered those early days clearly.
Their mothers had started with almost nothing.
But they had built everything with determination.
The three women stepped inside the grand lobby. Crystal chandeliers sparkled overhead, and the marble floors reflected the soft golden lighting.
Hotel staff bowed politely when they recognized them.
After all, the daughters of the three CEOs were well known here.
But they weren't here for business.
They were here to see family.
The Mothers
Their mothers had been inseparable since high school.
Han Soo Kyung — Dahye's mother
Choi Mi Kyung — Yu Na's mother
Kang Hye Jung — Nari's mother
Three best friends who had grown up together, married around the same time, and dreamed of building families.
But life had taken very different turns.
Nari's father had passed away after battling cancer for years.
Yu Na's father had betrayed her mother, leaving her for another woman. Yu Na still remembered the day her mother calmly told her she would never see that man again.
And Dahye's parents had separated peacefully after realizing their marriage could no longer work.
Dahye's mother had been the last to become single.
At that time, all three girls were still in elementary school.
Fatherless.
Confused.
Too young to understand.
But instead of falling apart, their mothers chose something else.
They chose to survive.
Together.
They worked day and night to open a tiny motel.
It started small.
Very small.
But year after year, the business grew.
Renovations came.
New wings were added.
More floors.
More employees.
And eventually, the small motel transformed into the massive hotel standing today.
The three women became successful CEOs.
And through it all, they raised their daughters together.
Which was why Dahye, Yu Na, and Nari had grown up more like sisters than friends.
Visiting the Hotel
They spent about an hour at the hotel, walking through the lobby and greeting familiar staff members.
Some of the older employees had known them since they were children running through the hallways.
"Miss Yu Na!" one manager greeted warmly. "Your mother is at home. She said you girls should come straight there when you arrive."
Yu Na nodded.
"Thanks."
Soon they returned to the car.
The real destination wasn't the hotel.
It was the house.
The Big House
Ten minutes later, they arrived at the enormous home their mothers shared.
It was a beautiful modern mansion surrounded by tall trees and a wide garden.
The moment they stepped inside, the smell of food filled the air.
From the kitchen came familiar voices.
"Are they here yet?"
"Probably stuck in traffic."
"Yu Na drives too fast."
Dahye laughed.
"Sounds like them."
The three girls walked into the kitchen.
Immediately their mothers turned.
And smiles spread across their faces.
"Girls!"
They rushed forward into warm hugs.
Han Soo Kyung held Dahye tightly.
"You look thinner. Are you eating properly?"
Dahye sighed.
"Mom, you say that every time."
Meanwhile Choi Mi Kyung pinched Yu Na's cheek.
"Still serious as always."
Yu Na rolled her eyes.
"Mom…"
Kang Hye Jung wrapped Nari in a dramatic hug.
"My daughter! Did you break anyone's heart this week?"
Nari grinned.
"Only three."
Everyone burst out laughing.
Dinner Together
Soon the large dining table was filled with food.
Homemade dishes their mothers had spent hours preparing.
The girls sat down eagerly.
"Eat first," Mi Kyung said. "Then you can tell us about work."
That rule lasted exactly five minutes.
Soon conversations began flying across the table.
They talked about Lumina Studio.
About the collaboration project.
About the upcoming travel shoot.
About chaotic meetings and ridiculous deadlines.
Their mothers listened with interest.
Eventually, Kang Hye Jung smirked.
"So… Dahye."
Dahye looked up suspiciously.
"Yes?"
Her mother rested her chin on her hand.
"What about Yerin?"
Yu Na instantly grinned.
Nari leaned forward.
"Oh yes," Nari said. "Let's talk about Yerin."
Dahye groaned.
"You two are impossible."
Han Soo Kyung raised an eyebrow.
"You've mentioned her several times."
Mi Kyung nodded.
"We want to hear about her."
Dahye tried to act calm, but the corner of her mouth lifted.
"She's… amazing."
Yu Na smirked immediately.
"Oh wow. Listen to that tone."
Nari laughed.
"She's down bad."
Dahye kicked her under the table.
"Shut up."
Their mothers chuckled.
"So when are we meeting her?" Soo Kyung asked gently.
Dahye paused.
Then smiled.
"Soon."
Mi Kyung nodded approvingly.
"If she makes you happy, bring her here."
Nari added casually,
"Yeah. We already like her anyway."
Yu Na shrugged.
"She's cool."
Dahye felt warmth spread through her chest.
She knew Yerin would fit here.
Perfectly.
Later That Night
After dinner they moved to the living room.
Tea replaced dinner plates.
The conversation turned softer.
Stories about childhood.
Memories about when the girls were younger.
Embarrassing moments.
Laughter echoed through the house.
For Dahye, weekends like this were grounding.
No cameras.
No deadlines.
No hidden relationships.
Just family.
And somewhere in the back of her mind, she wondered how Yerin would look sitting here with them.
Smiling.
Laughing.
Being part of this strange, chaotic family.
Dahye smiled quietly to herself.
She had a feeling that day would come sooner than everyone expected.
If you want, the next chapter could become even more interesting, for example:
Yerin having her own weekend storyline (with Eunseo and Nari's restaurant drama 👀)
Dahye video calling Yerin secretly at night from the house
The moms accidentally overhearing Dahye talking about Yerin
It would add romance + comedy to the next chapter.
