Jayden took a deep breath. He looked Coach Miller in the eye and gave a firm nod.
"I will, coach," he said, his voice sounding more serious than it had all day. "I will do just that."
Coach Miller exhaled, looking slightly relieved that at least one of them was finally showing a bit of common sense.
He leaned back in his office chair and looked at both of them. "Since you now know what to do, don't you think it's time for you to apologize to Ethan?" the coach asked.
"You two need to apologize to each other right now."
The moment those words left the coach's mouth, Jayden's head snapped up. He looked at Coach Miller as if the man had suddenly grown a second head right in front of him. His handsome, bruised face was a mask of pure defiance. Every line of his expression was protesting the very idea of saying sorry to the person who had just insulted his entire existence. His face was practically screaming that there was no way on earth he would ever do such a thing.
