"I just came to pick up the battle suits and brought them along to take a look," Peter shrugged with a thoroughly punchable smirk.
"Here~ your burgers." Peter's voice cut through Tony's thoughts.
Because Peter possessed the Human Torch gene and could adjust his body temperature at will, the burger was still steaming hot despite having been sitting around for a while. The rich aroma of the grilled patty and melted cheese intermingled, making Tony's mouth water instantly.
Appetite finally triumphed over resentment. Tony took a casual bite of the burger.
And then... his entire body froze.
"This burger... where did you buy it?"
Tony might not be able to talk shop about other types of food, but when it came to cheeseburgers, he was an absolute connoisseur.
As a fanatical burger enthusiast, he had eaten thousands of them throughout his life. Yet, none had ever felt quite like this one upon entering his mouth.
Even though the ingredients were standard, every single step of the preparation and every layer of flavor pairing was executed to absolute perfection.
"I made it myself."
"You made it?"
"Who else?"
Tony fell silent for three seconds before suddenly letting out a loud curse:
"Shit! Peter, how am I supposed to live my life after this?!"
After finishing the burger with a thoroughly resentful expression—and fiercely nagging Peter into promising to bring at least two burgers every single time he visited—Tony finally led the trio down into his subterranean laboratory.
The moment the lab doors slid open, four battle suits came into view, each gleaming with a different luster under the pristine spotlights.
The suit on the far left was instantly recognizable. Sporting the classic red-and-gold color scheme, it was obviously the one Tony had crafted for himself. Right beside it stood three other suits, sporting distinct color palettes: black-and-gold, blue-silver-red, and blue-and-gold.
Gwen's eyes lit up the moment her gaze landed on the blue-and-silver armor. Felicia, meanwhile, stared at the blue-and-gold suit, raising a sleek eyebrow in intrigue.
Peter stepped to the front. Looking at the massive black-and-gold armor, he didn't say a word, but the massive grin on his face completely betrayed his thoughts. Without a doubt, Tony had custom-tailored these three suits precisely according to their individual preferences.
"Well? My craftsmanship isn't half bad, is it~"
"Cut the chatter," Peter impatiently interrupted his boasting. "Get straight to the point and tell us what features they have."
"Thanks to you and that full ton of Vibranium you brought, I was able to leapfrog at least thirty generations of technological iterations," Tony's speaking speed quickened, his voice laced with uncontainable excitement.
"Every single one of these suits is equipped with the highest tier of nanotechnology. The entire armor plating can complete an arbitrary structural reorganization within 0.3 seconds."
Felicia, who possessed the weakest physics background among the group, couldn't help but ask, "Can you explain that in a way a soon-to-be college student can actually understand?"
Taking into account that she was Peter's girlfriend—and a stunning beauty at that—Tony graciously broke it down for her:
"Simply put, it can reshape itself into absolutely anything you want on the fly, adapting perfectly to any combat scenario."
As Tony spoke, he manipulated the holographic display to unlock the outer glass casing of Peter's black-and-gold suit. "Reach your hand over and give it a try."
Peter did as instructed. The very next second, as if it were a living symbiote, the armor surged forward along his fingers, instantly enveloping his entire body in sleek, heavy plating.
Tony spoke with immense pride: "I poured the most effort into your suit."
"Its overall silhouette is the largest among the four because I referenced your specific fighting style, optimizing the armor entirely for close-quarters powerhouse combat."
"Because of that, I heavily reinforced and thickened the armor plating around the arms."
On the holographic projection, the arm sections of the black-and-gold suit lit up, zooming in to display the dense, microscopic molecular structure of the nano-Vibranium.
"The most critical feature of this suit lies here—the Combat Mode Shift. Try telling your AI assistant to 'Initiate Overclock Mode'."
Peter tentatively gave the command: "Initiate Overclock Mode."
In the blink of an eye, the outer layer of Vibranium nanoparticles began to flow at a blinding velocity, converging entirely toward his arms within fractions of a second.
His left arm expanded rapidly, morphing into a massive shield-blade that covered half his body. Meanwhile, his right arm reconfigured into an incredibly fierce, heavy gauntlet, covered from the elbow to the fingertips in overlapping layers of jagged Vibranium plates, looking remarkably like the claw of a cataclysmic dragon.
"Left hand for defense, right hand for offense. Combine Vibranium's kinetic energy absorption property with your own monstrous strength—theoretically speaking, there isn't a single thing in existence that you can't shatter with a single punch."
Peter raised an impressed eyebrow.
"Furthermore," Tony added, "I have left dedicated energy output channels embedded within the palms and soles of the suit.
Don't you know all sorts of crazy magic? Lightning, fire, whatever—you can channel them directly through these pathways now. There's absolutely no need to dispel your hand gauntlets during a fight anymore."
"And thanks to the Vibranium, no matter how absurdly high your energy output gets, this suit should easily be able to handle the strain."
Peter thought to himself, 'Can it really handle absolutely any output?' but outwardly, he offered a bright smile, thoroughly validating Tony's hard work.
"Next up is yours, Gwen."
Tony unlocked the containment field of the second suit, allowing the armor to seamlessly wrap itself around Gwen's figure.
"Since Peter mentioned that you prefer not to kill and like to control the battlefield using webs, your suit's tactical role is defined as: Flank Interference."
On the projection, the back of the blue-and-silver armor deployed a pair of translucent flight-glider wings, while four slender mechanical spider-legs pricked out from either side of the spine.
"The mechanical spider-legs and glider wings are the specialized weapons of this suit, but the true highlight is this." Tony clicked open the arsenal tab, and rows of web-capsule icons instantly flooded the screen.
"Taser webs, adhesive webs, concussive webs, splinter webs... over twenty variations of web combinations, adaptable to numerous combat scenarios and fully supporting voice-command toggles. Additionally, there are micro-missile pods built into the chest and wrists, packed with enough reserve to continuously fire webs for over twenty minutes."
Hearing this, Gwen's eyes lit up beautifully. She couldn't help but turn to look at Peter with a gaze full of sweet affection.
Even though Tony was the one who had physically built the suit, there was absolutely no doubt that these suggestions—which perfectly tailored to her exact combat philosophy—had been brought forward by Peter himself. It was a testament to just how deeply Peter cherished her.
