"Heimdall?!"
Thor, Sif, and the Warriors Three lost their voices simultaneously. Standing before them was unmistakably the Guardian of Asgard's Bifrost—Heimdall.
However, the style of his golden armor and the fine details of his facial features had subtle differences from the one in their memories.
"Strictly speaking, I am the Heimdall of another universe."
The large, golden-armored man gave the crowd a slight nod, subsequently casting those golden pupils—capable of insightfully perceiving the Nine Realms—toward the continuously expanding vortex in the sky. His expression turned instantly solemn.
"The Bifrost's destruction mode... has already entered the final energy accumulation stage."
"Is there still time?" Peter asked.
Heimdall didn't answer. Instead, he took Hofund—the longsword in his hand whose form was completely distinct from Gungnir—and violently plunged it into the earth beneath his feet.
A golden glow blasted outward from the blade, spreading a light pattern across the desert that remotely echoed the vortex in the sky. In the next split second, a brand-new rainbow bridge shot into the sky from beneath everyone's feet!
"Fifty seconds." Heimdall finally opened his mouth, his voice carrying a heavy solemnity. "I hope you all can reverse this."
Hearing these words, Thor said nothing more. He immediately yanked Loki up and rushed onto this rainbow bridge. Sif and the others didn't dare to delay either, quickly following their footsteps.
Peter stood below, watching their receding backs as his expression inevitably grew uglier. If possible, he didn't want to go to Asgard. After all, he had just confiscated two of Asgard's divine artifacts; if he went up and ran into Odin, that would be exceptionally awkward.
But... these Asgardians were far too slow!
According to Peter's estimation, it would take them at least a minute and a half to run this distance, and by then, the Earth would have long since cooled down.
"Fuck." Peter couldn't resist cursing. A couple of useless, disappointing things; in the end, it still had to rely on him.
Although there was a small probability of running into that old geezer Odin, for the sake of the Earth, he had to take this trip.
Thinking in this manner, the golden inscriptions and fine lightning snakes over Peter's body surfaced once more.
Boom!
The ground beneath his feet shattered, and his silhouette instantaneously vanished from the spot.
On the rainbow bridge, Thor was gritting his teeth and charging forward when he suddenly felt an afterimage whistle past his side. Closely following was a violent gale sweeping over, nearly flipping him over on the spot.
This speed... Thor's eyes widened.
Sif merely felt a blur of golden-red light flash before her eyes, an explosive sonic boom echoing near her ears, and then... only a stretch of afterimages remained.
Using less than forty seconds, Peter had already rushed to the absolute end of the rainbow bridge.
Asgard, the Bifrost Hub.
Gungnir was currently plugged into the central keyhole, trembling frantically, the entire bridge structure violently vibrating due to the energy it released.
Fissures over the bridge surface were diffusing at a visible speed, and a sickening odor of burning energy permeated the air.
The exact instant Peter landed, he saw that divine spear emitting a glaring golden light. The energy protective shield surrounding Gungnir was ridiculously thick, layers upon layers of golden runes continuously circulating over its surface.
This was a safety measure set by Loki—even if someone could chase them up here, it would be impossible to easily pull it out.
But these defenses were simply not a problem at all before Peter. He didn't harbor any hesitation, directly overlapping his fists and placing them above the protective light shield.
Six Powers Secret Technique: Six King Pistol - Maximum Ring!
"Shatter for me!"
Along with this terrifying shockwave, that protective shield emitting a faint luster shattered as easily as an eggshell. Closely following, Peter let out a violent shout, his hands steadily gripping Gungnir.
The muscles upon his arms bulged tightly, golden inscriptions emerging like a tide upon Gungnir's chassis, rapidly breaking through the layers of restrictions placed upon it by Odin.
At this precise moment, directly above the Bifrost, the tip of that satellite-like device had visibly condensed into a light pillar emitting a destructive aura. In no more than three to five seconds, this light pillar would pour forth and thoroughly pierce the Earth through.
Only, right at the exact split second all of this was about to occur, Peter had already completely broken through the restrictions set by Odin, pulling it up completely without any hesitation.
The exact split second the spear's body separated from the keyhole, the vibrations across the entire Bifrost ground to a screeching halt. The continuously expanding destructive vortex in the sky also stopped rotating at this moment, beginning to slowly contract.
On Earth, everyone saw that terrifying vortex overhead dissipating.
"It succeeded?" Phil lifted his head in disbelief.
"It succeeded." Heimdall pulled out Hofund, the image of the Asgardian side reflected within his golden pupils, the corner of his mouth curving slightly upward. "Furthermore, my ice sculpture is quite graceful~"
Phil: "..."
I mean, who exactly asked you?
Gungnir buzzed incessantly within Peter's hands. Holding this legendary weapon of the All-Father, Peter could clearly sense the terrifying power contained within.
Of course, what was even more important was the system notification echoing frantically inside his mind:
[Legendary-Tier Sacrificable Item Detected: The 'Spear of Heaven' Gungnir]
[A top-tier divine artifact forged by Odin using the branches of Yggdrasil. It is not only a top-tier magic wand, but also a divine spear that can be called legendary, possessing the conceptual ability of 'being unstoppable when thrust, and bound to hit once thrown.']
[Sacrificing will yield Points: 150,000!]
Damn it, a whole 150,000 in sacrifice points! As long as it was sacrificed... directly buying out the entirety of the next year's shop wouldn't be any problem at all!
Just as a thought couldn't resist giving birth within Peter's heart to sacrifice it immediately, an aged voice transmitted over from a distance:
"This aura... Midgard, when exactly did a character like you emerge?"
The exact split second he heard this voice, Peter shuddered and violently lifted his head. He saw a figure slowly walking over from the direction of the Palace's main hall.
That was a one-eyed old man. He was draped in golden battle armor, his hair completely white, his steps steady yet leaking an unconcealable exhaustion.
Even though Peter had never seen this person before, the exact split second that solitary eye looked toward him, the hairs all over his body stood right up. That was his Observation Haki frantically warning inside his mind!
The person before him was extremely dangerous; even though his hand lacked Gungnir, he could still cause damage to Peter capable of making him die right on the spot!
"Odin," Peter blurted out.
The old man nodded slightly, his gaze first falling upon Gungnir inside Peter's hand, before looking at Peter's state of Dual-God Resonance:
"Flames, thunder, frost, divine power..." Odin counted them one by one, his tone flat as if he were taking inventory of goods upon a shelf. "Such a complex system of powers, yet able to harmoniously coexist within a single person. I have never seen a Midgardian as interesting as you."
If it were any ordinary person being stared at and questioned like this by the All-Father, they would have likely knelt long ago. But Peter merely responded with silence, maintaining a posture that indicated he had nothing to disclose.
Seeing this state of his as if he were facing a formidable enemy, Odin suddenly smiled:
"Don't be nervous, child. I no longer have the surplus energy to investigate the source of this strength of yours..."
