Chapter 207 - Chapter 207: Thank You for Your Gift, Confiscated!

A double loss is always better than a single win for the opponent.

This thought entirely occupied the whole of Loki's mind. He no longer hesitated, snatching up the Casket of Ancient Winters that was emitting a ghostly blue glow beside him.

The exact split second his fingertips brushed against the chassis of the Casket, a bone-piercing coldness blasted outward from his palm, climbing rapidly along his blood vessels.

His fair skin turned blue visibly to the naked eye, and his pupils shifted from emerald green to a crimson red.

That was the color he had spent his entire life running away from. The bloodline of a Frost Giant.

"Heh..." Looking at his gradually altering skin color, Loki couldn't resist exposing an incomparably ironic smile.

He had previously been planning to kill his "biological daddy." Yet now, his biological daddy was truly dead, but his behavior instead made it seem like he was going to inherit the other's final wishes, becoming completely irreconcilable with his father's killer...

He took a deep breath, forcefully pressing down those bizarre thoughts within his heart. Holding Gungnir in his left hand and cradling the Casket of Ancient Winters in his right, Loki resolutely lifted his foot and walked out of the Palace.

If he wanted to turn the tables against the wind, he was currently left with only one final path to walk. Use the Casket of Ancient Winters to freeze the Earth, then use the power of the Bifrost to thoroughly destroy it! Let all of his conspiracies and calculations thoroughly become past clouds and smoke along with the Earth's destruction!

That's right, the Bifrost wasn't merely a transport device. In reality, its essence was actually a super-destructive weapon! Once activated, destroying a star in a single strike wasn't any difficult matter at all!

Plugging Gungnir into the Bifrost's exclusive "keyhole," Loki didn't harbor any hesitation, immediately cradling the Casket of Ancient Winters as he descended upon Earth.

Before he even hit the ground, the Casket of Ancient Winters was already fully activated. The glaring blue light pillar even saturated the Bifrost into an icy blue color. Immediately following, a coldness so terrifying it was suffocating swept over in a sky-blotting torrent!

The remaining scorched earth and ash on the ground were frozen into ice fragments in a single split second. The water vapor in the air was rapidly condensed into dense, tightly packed ice crystals, refracting a bizarre blue light.

"Is this... the Casket of Ancient Winters?!" Thor's expression shifted instantly. "Dammit, Loki has gone mad! To think he actually activated the Casket of Ancient Winters!"

"Run fast!" Hogun, without even thinking, yanked Thor's arm.

As Asgardian warriors, even if they were frozen, they wouldn't die. But Thor... right now, he had already been stripped of all his power. If he were touched by this freezing air, death was a certainty!

"No, I cannot leave!" Thor's gaze drifted intentionally or unintentionally toward Jane Foster, who appeared completely at a loss when facing this sudden freezing air.

Within his heart, his conviction instantly solidified. "This matter originated because of me. As the future King of Asgard, I must take responsibility for this!"

While speaking, Thor bent his waist, once again gritting his teeth to grab Mjolnir.

The frost rushed over like a tide. Within just the blink of an eye, it diffused onto Mjolnir. It was visible that half of Thor's arm was already plunged into a state of freezing. But Thor didn't retreat a single shred, merely emitting a low, deep roar!

"Don't you dare think about it!"

Along with this explosive shout, a bolt of thunder abruptly blasted across the sky. Within the thunder-light, the stubborn ice on Thor's arm shattered, silver armor rapidly covered his body, and the crimson cloak behind him fluttered and turned wildly.

The God of Thunder, Thor, returned to his position!

Thor, having reclaimed his power, opened his eyes that flickered with thunder-light, locking onto that silhouette slowly descending from the Bifrost in the absolute first instance.

Loki. His brother was currently cradling the Casket of Ancient Winters with both hands, his entire body tinged with a bizarre blue, his pupils crimson like blood.

"Loki!" Thor's voice was mixed with rage, heartache, and disbelief. "How could you transform into this kind of appearance?"

"This is precisely my original appearance," the corner of Loki's mouth pulled into a twisted arc, speaking with a double entendre. "The things I cannot obtain, no one should think about obtaining either."

"You're crazy!"

Thor's form flashed, rapidly flying toward Loki. But the blue light of the Casket of Ancient Winters in Loki's hand abruptly skyrocketed. Every single step Thor took closer to Loki, the coldness over his body weighted by another notch.

At a distance of ten meters, his feet were completely frozen by the frost. At seven meters, the frost had climbed onto his thighs. At five meters, his lower body was thoroughly frozen. Lacking only the final meter, the ice had diffused to Thor's neck.

"Brother, this is exactly what's not good about you." Loki looked down from a high vantage point at Thor, who was frozen to the point of being nearly unable to move, his tone carrying complex emotions that couldn't be clearly explained.

"Always only knowing to charge forward, never using your brain to think about what exactly you can do once you charge up."

"Lo... ki..." Thor squeezed these two words out from between his teeth, his cheeks already turning a greenish-purple color. His thunder power was desperately combating the freezing air invading his body, but the power of the Casket of Ancient Winters was simply too overbearing.

Thor's divine power, which had just been restored, wasn't enough to look at before this thing. If this continued, before three seconds passed, the Prince of Asgard would be thoroughly reduced into an ice sculpture.

Right at the exact split second, the frost was about to thoroughly seal Thor's final shred of breath. A hand silently attached itself to Thor's shoulder.

"Truly quite disappointing." That voice carried a few fractions of helplessness, a few fractions of disgust, and a few fractions of an easygoing carelessness that caused blood pressure to skyrocket. "Oh well, in consideration of the fact that you previously warned me, I will reluctantly help you out once."

BOOM~!

While speaking, golden flames rapidly attached themselves onto Thor's body, causing the stubborn ice over him to explode into pieces instantly.

Thor turned his head to look in disbelief. He saw Peter standing right behind him, one hand pressed against his shoulder, his expression as flat as if he had just casually helped a neighbor fix a lightbulb.

"Thank you."

Leaving behind this kind of gratitude, Thor no longer stayed, smashing his hammer fiercely toward Loki whose expression was twisted.

THUD!

A hammer strike directly hit the center of the chest. Loki immediately flew backward, and the Casket of Ancient Winters in his hand subsequently slipped from his grasp.

Looking at that Casket of Ancient Winters drawing a perfect parabolic arc in the air, Peter's eyes instantly lit up. Using Moonwalk, his form flashed in the air, steadily catching the Casket of Ancient Winters in his hand.

The exact split second he touched the Casket of Ancient Winters, a bone-piercing coldness surged into his heart. Even Peter's Human Torch form, which was currently fused with Vanir divine power, was unable to resist it.

However, Peter was long since prepared for this. He twisted the dial of the Omnitrix, instantly switching to the Frost Giant bloodline that he had collected from Loki early on.

Relying on the strength of the Frost Giant bloodline, Peter reached out and brushed across the Casket of Ancient Winters. In the next split second, the Casket of Ancient Winters' action of spewing freezing air ground to a screeching halt.

Not only that, it actually began to absorb those diffused freezing airs in reverse, causing the surrounding frost to recede rapidly.

The exact split second he witnessed this scene, Loki, who had fallen on the ground, was thoroughly dumbfounded.

How is this possible? This human, how... could he even master the power of the Frost Giants?!

Seeming to notice Loki's astonished eyes, Peter turned his head back, looking at Loki on the ground. A warm smile immediately surfaced over his face:

"Please allow me to solemnly express my gratitude to you, Mr. Loki." "This gift you sent over, I like it very much!"

The exact split second his words fell, the Casket of Ancient Winters in Peter's hand... vanished instantly!
