Rosalind had discovered that she could not uncover anything from the pendant.
She had spent most of the day pacing around her room, biting her lip while keeping her gaze fixed on it as she tried to solve the puzzle, yet every attempt led her right back to where she started.
In fact, she had scribbled down several possible strategies on sheets of paper, hoping they would help her figure out what to do next, but every one of them had proven useless.
At the very least, it gave her something to focus on and distracted her from everything else around her, from being locked away in this room, to the wedding preparations carrying on as though nothing was wrong, and to the fact that nobody was allowed to see her.
She was completely alone, but this new mission gave her something to hold on to and enough determination to keep herself from being consumed by boredom and despair.
"Oh, come on," Rosalind muttered under her breath as she stared at the pendant again.
