Chapter 38 - Chapter 38: Returning to the Initial State!

Eris lay prone on the floor, her voice thick with suppressed sobs, yet she still refused to yield. Her fiery red hair was coated in the dust of the floor, and her usual pampered, noble air had vanished without a trace.

"It seems you still haven't grasped your current situation," Su Mu spoke flatly, his tone devoid of emotion. "In that case, let me teach you exactly what 'rules' mean."

As he spoke, he issued another command, his tone brooking no argument: "Now, stand up and lift your skirt."

The moment the words left his lips, Eris's body stood up against her will. Her hands seemed to possess a mind of their own as they slowly lowered toward her hem.

"C-curse... you... filthy peasant... ugh..."

Eris muttered incoherent curses even as tears burst from her eyes, sliding down her cheeks and dripping onto the floor, creating small, dark stains. Her long-standing arrogance and pride were utterly shattered, leaving behind only a bone-deep sense of humiliation and terror. She finally realized that, in this moment, she was completely powerless to resist.

"As expected, correcting your temperament isn't something that can be done overnight." Su Mu stood up and walked slowly toward Eris. He looked down at her from his height, his voice indifferent. "Then let us continue."

He sat back down on the sofa and issued a frigid command to Eris: "Now, crawl over here."

Eris's body once again moved out of her control. Her hands and feet hit the ground simultaneously, and like a puppet on strings, she began to crawl slowly toward Su Mu. With every inch she moved, the sense of degradation deepened, and her tears flowed even more fiercely.

Lilia, watching this from the side, turned deathly pale. Yet, she was bound by an invisible force, unable to move even a muscle. She could only watch in frantic anxiety as her Young Lady was subjected to such ignominy.

"You... you... what do you want?! No... ugh... it smells... so disgusting..."

Eris's entire body was tense, her cheeks flushed a deep crimson, and her tone was filled with resistance and panic. Her purple eyes, which usually held a spark of haughtiness, were now clouded with mist; her gaze flickered away, only to be forced back to the scene before her.

She instinctively clenched her fists until her knuckles turned white, but her movements continued with mechanical, uncontrolled precision. Every motion felt like enduring an agonizing ordeal, and her shoulders trembled uncontrollably.

Su Mu's voice, laced with a hint of playfulness and an indisputable sense of dominance, rang out casually: "You say it smells? In that case, give it a proper cleaning until I am satisfied."

"W-what? No! I won't... mmph!"

Eris's eyes widened suddenly, her pupils shrinking. She tried with all her might to break free from this uncanny control, but her body felt as though it were bound by invisible ropes, utterly unresponsive to her will. As the forced compulsion grew more intense, her eyes bulged further, a mix of terror and indignation swirling in their depths. A faint whimper escaped her throat, but she didn't even have the strength to lift a hand in protest.

Su Mu ignored Eris and slowly turned his gaze toward Lilia.

The dim light fell across Lilia, casting her tense figure in a thin, fragile light. From the beginning, she had been huddled in the corner, her hands clasped tightly in front of her with white-tipped fingers. She had witnessed everything, her face a mask of fear and unease, even her breathing kept deliberately shallow.

Sensing Su Mu's gaze sweep over her, Lilia flinched as if she had been burned. Her feet stumbled, and she nearly lost her balance, hurriedly reaching out to steady herself against the wall behind her.

She didn't dare meet Su Mu's eyes. Her head hung low, and her voice carried an unmistakable tremor as she moved quickly to distance herself from the situation. "T-this Lord! Although I am a maid of the Greyrat family, in reality, I was sent here under the King's orders to monitor them..."

As she spoke, she seemed to remember the backing behind her. Her spine straightened slightly, and her tone gained a touch of misplaced confidence as she tried to exert pressure using her status: "Lord, I have the entire Kingdom behind me! If you do not wish to make an enemy of the whole nation, I ask that you—"

"Hehe, interesting." Su Mu let out a low chuckle. There wasn't a hint of fear in that laugh; instead, it was thick with a sense of mockery, as if he had just heard something hilarious. "If you hadn't said that, I might have kept you as a bargaining chip for later. But now, it seems I should deal with you early to take you down a peg."

Before his voice had even faded, Su Mu raised a hand and issued a cold command, every word carrying a crushing weight of authority: "Now, return to your Initial State."

"No... Lord! I didn't mean that! I was wrong!"

Lilia's face turned as white as paper, the color draining away completely as she shook uncontrollably. She waved her hands frantically in explanation, her voice full of terror and pleading, but her hands had already risen against her will, beginning to execute the command mechanically. She wanted to stop, she wanted to keep begging for mercy, but the control over her body was no longer hers. She could only watch in despair as she fell further into a passive state.

Su Mu clearly had no patience for her explanations. He watched her with a cold gaze, his fingers lightly tapping the edge of the table beside him. Each sharp click sounded like a hammer against Lilia's heart.

After a moment, Lilia's movements ceased. She had now completely returned to her Initial State.

Seeing this, Su Mu spoke flatly, his tone one of scrutiny: "Your name is Lilia, right?"

"Y-yes! This humble one is Lilia!"

Hearing that Su Mu hadn't issued any further commands, Lilia's frayed nerves relaxed slightly. She instinctively let out a sigh of relief, cold sweat sliding down her temple and across her cheek. She responded with utmost reverence, her head bowed even lower, not daring to show the slightest negligence.

"Tell me then, do you know a man named Paul?" Su Mu paused, then added another question, his gaze sharpening as if trying to pierce through her facade. "Or rather, are you truly in your 'Initial State' right now?"

"P-Paul... This humble one does not know him."

After a brief thought, Lilia answered the first question with certainty and immediately began pondering the second. Upon meeting Su Mu's scrutinizing gaze, her heart tightened. She hesitated for a long while, her eyes shifting between a struggle and sheer terror—if she lied and said she wasn't, she might temporarily avoid the shame, but she might also lose all value due to the deception and end up dead. If she spoke the truth, she would have to endure the humiliation, but she might save her life.
