Chapter 42 - Chapter 42: The Superd Race?

"Y-yes! I will!"

Eris nodded hurriedly, picking up a small fork and clumsily stabbing a piece of toast. Her movements were awkward, clearly showing she rarely did things for herself, yet she learned with earnest focus. She chewed in small bites, her eyes filled with a newfound docility.

As Su Mu ate, he spoke as if making casual conversation. "Fu Hua and Hu Tao went out with Misaki and the others?"

The moment he had woken up, he had already sensed their locations.

"That's right, that's right!" March 7th immediately put down her fork, her eyes sparkling. "While you were resting, Hubby, I moved the apartment into a small alley outside! Everyone has been wanting to see the local scenery for a while, so Sister Fu Hua and Hu Tao took the initiative to accompany Misaki and the rest out."

She spoke rapidly, her tone brimming with excitement. The tips of her hair swayed gently with her movements, radiating vitality.

"Mm." Su Mu nodded slightly and added, "When they return, inform them that they can also use the apartment's functions here. After forming a party, they can hunt outside and teleport directly back to the vicinity of the apartment. Even if they aren't hunting and are just sightseeing, it's fine; their safety is guaranteed."

"Indeed." Himeko nodded gently, taking a sip of milk. Her tone was warm. "With the apartment functions as a safety net, everyone can feel more at ease."

"Yeah, yeah!" March 7th chimed in, a look of cleverness crossing her face. "Besides, while our levels have reached their cap, Emi and the others haven't. We can take advantage of this to level up while sightseeing—killing two birds with one stone!"

"Mm, very smart," Su Mu praised casually.

"Hmph, so perfunctory! You could at least try to sound sincere when praising yourself!" March 7th rolled her eyes at him. Despite her complaining, her cheeks flushed slightly; she clearly enjoyed the compliment. She took a large bite of toast, looking both charming and cute.

Breakfast ended quickly in a relaxed atmosphere.

Lilia was the first to stand, skillfully clearing the dishes with efficient, orderly movements before quietly retreating to the kitchen to keep busy. Not long after she entered the kitchen, Fu Hua and Hu Tao returned.

While outside, Fu Hua had already informed Emi and the others of their plan. This way, if they encountered any unexpected situations like yesterday's, they wouldn't need to make up excuses to hide their actions.

Su Mu looked at the ever-energetic March 7th and said, "March, go ahead and continue your main quest."

"Huh? Me again?" March 7th's face fell, her tone carrying a small whine as she put on a reluctant front.

"This world appeared, in a way, because of you. Naturally, you should be the protagonist," Su Mu explained.

"Eh? Protagonist?" March 7th's eyes lit up instantly, her previous complaints vanishing into thin air. Her tone was now full of glee. "Why didn't you say so earlier! This young lady is going out to champion justice right now!"

Before her voice had even faded, she stood up impatiently and vanished from the living room.

In the depths of a narrow alley near the Greyrat estate in the city of Roa, a faint glimmer of light flickered in the air. Clad in her signature fluffy coat and dress, March 7th's figure appeared as quietly as if she were a passing breeze.

The lingering warmth of the living room still clung to her fingertips. Her almond-shaped eyes scanned the street outside the alley with curiosity, but she soon frowned.

Compared to yesterday's orderliness, Roa had fallen into a state of oppressive chaos.

Pedestrians on the cobblestone roads walked with hurried steps, their faces filled with panic. The once-bustling shops had closed their doors, and only patrols of soldiers moved through the streets with heavy treads. The clanging of their armor sounded exceptionally harsh in the empty lanes.

When Fu Hua and the others had been out for a stroll earlier, they had been affected by this sudden, tense atmosphere and returned to the apartment after only a short walk.

The source of this chaos was known to everyone—the eldest daughter of the Boreas Greyrat family, Eris Boreas Greyrat, had disappeared.

Currently, the area outside the Greyrat estate was under heavy military blockade. A large number of soldiers in standardized armor were fanning out from the estate to search the entire city. Their sharp gazes swept over every corner as they interrogated passersby, turning the city-state upside down.

Additionally, several light-armored soldiers were galloping on horseback toward the Royal Capital. From the way the horses' manes flew in the wind, it was clear they were desperate to deliver the news to the currently absent Ghislaine Dedoldia.

However, given their pace, reaching the capital would take more than just three to five days. Even if they did make it, it was unknown if they would even see Ghislaine. That female swordsman, known as the Sword King, was notoriously defiant and was often assigned secret missions by the Kingdom. Her whereabouts were erratic; she might have already left for another land to execute an important task, making her impossible to find.

Considering this, March 7th nodded to herself—the Main Body didn't need to worry about this for the time being.

Even if Ghislaine eventually learned of Eris's whereabouts, given Eris's current situation, they might even be able to win the Sword King over and make her a new tenant of the apartment. As for Ghislaine's current state—since Paul was no longer the Paul from the original story, Ghislaine's fate, much like Lilia's, had likely shifted. There was no need for excessive concern.

Watching the escalating chaos in the city, March 7th subconsciously clenched her fists, her innate desire to play the hero bubbling up. But then she thought about it—Eris's disappearance was directly caused by them. To cause the accident and then show up pretending to be the "good guy" would be far too ridiculous.

She stuck out her tongue, suppressing her restless urges. "Forget it, forget it. I shouldn't get involved in this. I'll just go for a stroll outside the city."

To avoid being interrogated by the soldiers while leaving, March 7th's eyes flickered. Her body instantly shrank to the size of a palm. Like a nimble sparrow, she used the shadows of the buildings to move quickly, quietly bypassing the guards at the city gate and successfully reaching the wilderness outside.

Just as she stepped into the overgrown wilds, a series of urgent shouts broke the surrounding silence.

"Hurry! Surround them! Don't let her escape!"

A soldier who appeared to be a captain held a longsword, his face grim as he barked orders with desperate urgency.

"But... Captain, that's a Superd..."

A soldier looked terrified, the hand holding his spear trembling slightly, his eyes full of hesitation. The fearsome reputation of the Superd race had long since spread across the continent; their image as bloodthirsty warmongers was etched into the very bones of the people.

"It's precisely because she's a Superd that she's the most likely culprit for kidnapping the young mistress!" the captain retorted sharply, his gaze as keen as a blade. "Pick for yourself: do you want to face a Superd girl who looks like she has no skill, or do you want to face the wrath of Lady Ghislaine?"
