"A child! Are you kidding me?" Touko practically roared out. Now she truly thought Asagami Fujino had gone mad.
"Relax, it's just a child. It's not like I'm asking you to give birth." Asagami Fujino laughed and held Touko down.
"What do you mean?" Touko looked at Asagami Fujino. If she hadn't quit smoking, she would really want a cigarette right now.
"Irisviel," Asagami Fujino said with a smile.
Touko frowned. "You want to use her as a Host Body?"
"What Host Body? That sounds awful." Asagami Fujino rolled her eyes.
"You should know that Irisviel, as a Homunculus, is still fundamentally a Homunculus even if your treatment has made her infinitely close to human, right?"
Touko nodded silently. Indeed, just as Asagami Fujino said, a Homunculus was a Homunculus. No matter how superb her technique was, she couldn't change the fundamental nature of Irisviel's body, unless she extracted Irisviel's consciousness, separated it from her original Homunculus body to form two individuals, then created a human body and placed the consciousness back into it.
"That's exactly my method. You noticed the Sorcery Crests inside Irisviel when you examined her, right?" Asagami Fujino squinted at Touko.
"Fujino, you want to use the Sorcery Crests inside her to have her conceive a new life for you using this body, then discard her original body and reconstruct a new one, right?" Touko took a deep breath, finding the idea somewhat insane.
"Close enough. Touko, you should understand that at my current Status, giving birth to offspring is nearly impossible." Asagami Fujino's tone grew heavy. After obtaining Migeiko, her Status had been elevated to a terrifying existence. Giving birth to offspring was incredibly difficult, though not absolutely impossible. One method was Self-Reproduction: using the power of her own Bloodline Power to conceive a child. However, this method was less about giving birth and more about creating a separate entity differentiated from her own blood. Besides this, there was another way: System assistance, but this ability could only be used once Asagami Fujino completely controlled the System.
"Whew, fine, what do you plan to do?" Touko looked at Asagami Fujino. "You should be very familiar with that Sorcery Crest, and you know perfectly well that it absolutely cannot support the fusion of your bloodline and Irisviel's bloodline to give birth to a child, right?"
"Yes, that Sorcery Crest cannot support it at all," Asagami Fujino said. "But there is one way to make that Sorcery Crest withstand my bloodline, and only Irisviel can do it."
"What method?" Touko asked.
"Irisviel's blood ratio will reach 99 percent, mine only 1. That's the limit the reworked ritual can bear. Finally, we fuse the spell with a pre-existing being perfectly compatible with Irisviel, and a child can be born," Asagami Fujino said earnestly.
"So after giving birth to a child carrying your blood, Irisviel's current body will collapse. You'll preserve her consciousness and place it into a brand-new body," Touko continued, her gaze complicated.
"Yes." Fujino nodded. This decision had been almost a whim—she had suddenly wanted a child. Of course, other motives were mixed in as well. (Fujino: Illya is super cute!)
"What's the success rate?" At this point Touko approved of the idea. A baby—surely adorable.
She had considered children before, using alchemy to blend their blood and create a homunculus. But the chance of success was low; Fujino's blood was too fearsome. Any fusion would see the other half devoured, making balance impossible.
"One hundred percent," Fujino smiled. Without absolute certainty she would never have brought it up.
"When do we start?" Touko asked, barely able to wait. A child inheriting even one percent of Fujino's power would still be terrifying—and surely adorable.
"Right now. Before the Holy Grail War heats up, let me bond with Alice." Fujino's eyes held anticipation.
"You'll probably have her in bed before the day's out," Touko teased.
"When that happens, do you want to join us and teach Alice a few things?"
"Get lost!"
