Chapter 160 - Chapter 160: Shaman

"Looks like your talk went smoothly?" Caleb crouched nearby and asked, watching Sejuani holding a large bowl as she ate her noodles.

He had already started cooking the second pot. However, there was not enough fuel, so Caleb simply added his own arcane energy into the process.

Caleb felt that he was now basically a peaceful, worldly-desire-free induction stove.

"It did go quite smoothly. Much easier than I expected."

Sejuani's expression had also become much more relaxed.

"Than you expected? What does that mean?"

Caleb was a little puzzled, but still gestured for Kai'Sa to fish the noodles out of the pot.

Once seasoning and side ingredients were added, it became a steaming bowl of Cajun seafood noodles.

That smell had even drifted all the way to the hearthbound camp, yet the Iceborn were complaining that it tasted bad while slurping it down with great enthusiasm.

"It's not good. Trust me, even the grass roots fed to livestock have more chew than this."

Olaf complained like this while drinking down the last of the remaining broth in big gulps.

"Another bowl!"

The shameless Olaf lifted his bowl and moved closer to the great cauldron again.

"Yeah… I mean…"

Caleb looked at the Iceborn coming up to refill their "bowls."

"What do you mean by smoother than you expected?"

Generally speaking, information between the various tribes was mostly passed on through divination and word of mouth.

Only that way could they learn about another tribe, especially information about a leading Warmother.

"Dreams."

Sejuani's words made Caleb freeze for a moment again.

"Honestly… if I didn't know your history went back so far, I'd really suspect you were a bunch of cavemen…"

Caleb could not help teasing helplessly.

"Cavemen who know magic."

Seeing Sejuani's stunned eyes, Caleb slowly added another line.

Mm… However, that addition did not seem very effective.

"Dreams are a symbolic manifestation of the spirit realm in the Freljord!"

Sejuani's expression was very serious as she continued.

"In many tribes, revelations in dreams have allowed them to choose their own path."

Sejuani was not joking. Within the spirit realm of the Freljord, there were influences from multiple demigods.

Because of that, those with talent would be chosen by the corresponding demigod or animal spirit.

In the Freljord, having a dream like that would be seen as a kind of summons.

"The dreams manifested by the Freljord's spirit realm must be interpreted."

"So…"

Caleb did his best to put aside the "biases" from his previous life and understand what Sejuani was saying.

"Yes. More than once, I dreamed that Ashe and I were at each other's throats."

"And in my original plan, once the first snow melted, the Winter's Claw would launch an attack against them."

Hearing Sejuani say this, Caleb stopped heating the empty pot.

"That is indeed a strange thing, isn't it?"

Following Sejuani's train of thought, Caleb also understood.

"Yes."

"The Freljord once gave you a revelation, but now things are different from what that revelation described?"

This time, Caleb also sank into hesitation.

He still knew a little of the backstory.

For example, the ancestral Warmother of the Avarosan tribe Ashe belonged to really had been named Avarosa.

Together with Serylda and Lissandra in the Frostguard Citadel, they had been the Three Sisters who once ruled the Freljord.

If "Sej" had received a revelation, logically speaking, it should have come either from an ancestor or from Bristle's demigod ancestor.

But if it was a revelation, why would it have a negative effect on the entire Winter's Claw?

After all, if the two sides could cooperate, based on their ancestral connection and the friendship from their childhood, Ashe and Sejuani should not have been so hostile toward each other.

Caleb felt that something about this was suspicious.

No, rather… extremely suspicious.

"Has the time been decided?"

Caleb looked toward the steep mountain peak in the distance. That was where the Ice Children's camp was stationed.

It was precisely because of the fortifications built around that terrain that they occupied the richest grassland and lakes, where they could graze their herds.

If they took down the Ice Children, then an ancient tribe like Avarosa would also gain an excellent camp.

And if they had resources, the Winter's Claw would also be able to survive this cold winter smoothly.

"Chief, someone has returned."

"One person?"

This time, not only Caleb, but even Sejuani frowned.

"Yes. That genius shaman, he's back!"

"That guy's destructive power is not even much worse than Olaf's."

Sejuani lowered her voice and explained to Caleb.

"He sounds very strong…"

Caleb had already seen what that iron-headed maniac Olaf was like.

If a chunk of ice the size of a truck smashed down, Caleb would definitely blink to a safe place or activate Shadow Step to move aside.

He would not be like Olaf, using his back to forcibly smash the ice into several pieces.

So, the moment he heard that it was a genius shaman, Caleb was also filled with anticipation.

It was not until that man arrived in front of Caleb that Caleb finally reacted.

"Is this a new champion?"

Caleb found this person very familiar, but for a moment, he could not remember him.

"Udyr. I heard you went across the sea, to Ionia."

Sejuani looked at the bare-chested shaman and spoke.

"What the hell!"

Caleb's intense reaction even startled Sejuani a little.

"This guy is the Spirit Walker?"

Caleb carefully examined Udyr, making both Sejuani and this genius shaman somewhat confused.

"Go on, go on."

Caleb suppressed his shock.

Was this thing really Udyr?

Had League of Legends' designers finally remembered that this thing was still a champion?

Had they found their conscience and given him a rework?

In any case, he did not look like that "power of the bear" thing Caleb had seen before.

"I trained in a temple in Ionia with a monk who followed the spirit dragon."

Seeing that Caleb's traveler's gear and foreign bearing carried a faint trace of Ionia as well, Udyr continued speaking.

"Until I heard the frightened calls of the chiefs. Only then did I return to the Freljord."

"You know that the current you cannot be trusted, right?"

Caleb looked at the two of them and tactfully went to find Kai'Sa for a bowl of noodles.

Although Caleb was no longer hungry.

But Caleb also did not want to listen to the two of them get tangled up in things like betrayal.

"Tomorrow, late at night!"

Sejuani called out toward Caleb's back.

Caleb understood. That was the time when the operation would begin.

"If you play an important role in this operation, you will be allowed to join the Winter's Claw."

The cold wind blew Sejuani's words to Caleb's ears.

That was not bad. With this genius shaman joining them, the night raid on the Ice Children would have even greater certainty of success.

"Are you bringing me this time?"

Yuumi looked eager to try. It seemed she had not had much contact with these high-level Iceborn either.

"That actually sounds pretty good."

Caleb smiled and nodded, but then looked toward Kai'Sa.

"It's all right. I understand."

Kai'Sa gently held Caleb's arm and spoke softly.

"I'll go too and do my part."

Caleb still wanted to say something more, but Kai'Sa shook her head.

So Caleb also smiled and began considering what food he should recommend to Kai'Sa next time.
