Chapter 159 - Chapter 159: Plan (EC)

"No need to mobilize everyone."

Caleb's words quieted the already somewhat doubtful atmosphere of the meeting.

"This time, the first priority is seizing food. We only need a portion of elite warriors."

Once Caleb said this, the worry in Ashe's eyes grew even deeper.

"You should know that the mountain peaks where the Ice Children are stationed are mostly steep ranges and towering ridges. They are extremely difficult to climb."

"As long as one person can get up there, then naturally everyone can get up there, right?"

Caleb's body turned into a phantom, and he slowly stood in the middle of the large table.

"You can pass through mountain rock?"

Ashe's eyes also grew heated.

That meant if Caleb dropped ropes from above, all the elites could silently cross that "natural chasm" without the enemy noticing.

Even the Vulpine Wanderers who served as scouts could not run up cliff faces angled greater than ninety degrees.

But with a skill like Caleb's, as long as he had enough time, he absolutely could!

As long as there were ropes above, they could force the Ice Children to abandon the camp they were so proud of.

Then, while they fled in chaos, Avarosa could take their place!

After all, the Ice Children had indeed been growing stronger over the years, but the herds at the foot of their mountain had been seized many times.

However, because of the location they occupied, the losses they suffered each time were limited.

Once enemies entered the attack range of the mountain, the Ice Children could strike friend and foe alike without discrimination.

After all, one herd might only have two or three Iceborn among it. With their outstanding physiques, they would definitely survive under the protection of the hearthbound slaves.

If they could not, then they could simply go back down the mountain and raid again.

Because of this, although the Ice Children were infamous throughout the Freljord, there was not much anyone could do to them.

As for Lissandra's orders, they naturally obeyed them strictly.

If she told them to kill a certain Iceborn, they would not even blink.

Because of that, under Lissandra's protection, the Ice Children's tribe had slowly grown stronger.

"We don't need many people, but they must be elites."

Caleb thought for a moment, then continued.

"Basically, we will be fighting a larger force with a smaller one. Before the enemy calms down, we'll only have a short window."

Caleb continued speaking.

"So we need chaos. Major chaos!"

Caleb's words did move Ashe somewhat.

Avarosa took protecting the weak as its duty, while the Ice Children would raid weaker peoples from time to time.

Compared with the Winter's Claw, the Ice Children's method of raiding could be described as stripping everything clean.

For the captured people and their loved ones, it would be a disaster.

Iceborn who refused to surrender were treated as even less than hearthbound slaves.

At least the latter could still rely on selling their labor to scrape together food and warmth there.

The former could only be treated as resources, either exchanged or put to use.

So this operation was a double-edged sword.

Joining forces with the Winter's Claw would cause an uproar among the tribes that had once been raided.

However, destroying the Ice Children would be extremely convenient with the ability Caleb had shown.

"What do you say, Warmother Ashe?"

Sejuani finally understood how Caleb had crossed through the mountain rock before and moved so freely among that group of Ursine.

"I will definitely go."

Caleb added more weight to the scale. To Ashe, the words of a warrior from beyond the Freljord were more trustworthy than Sejuani's.

"Allow me to think."

Leanna, standing beside Ashe, looked somewhat surprised.

After all, judging from her chief's usual attitude, she did not really want to cooperate with the Winter's Claw.

However, after the other side truly arrived, aside from verbal sparks, no actual fight had broken out.

Compared with the brave Wildclaw Shamans and agile Vulpine Wanderers, the chief shaman who believed in the mammoth was closer to the aspect of protection.

So, when it came to Avarosa, Leanna had always taken a defensive stance.

She could also be considered the only woman with overwhelming strength who had never challenged Ashe's position as Warmother.

"It'll be fine."

Caleb was the first to walk out of the tent, leaving the meeting table to the two remaining sides.

The plan had already been provided. Caleb leaving now made one thing clear.

He would not participate in the distribution of benefits. He would leave that entirely to the two sides to consider.

However, once both sides began discussing how to divide things after the battle, this matter was more or less settled.

"How did the talk go?"

Caleb had just walked out of the tent and was about to sigh over how the temperature outside was actually a little higher.

Kai'Sa had already walked toward him head-on.

"It's basically decided. We're preparing to launch a late-night surprise attack on the Ice Children's tribe."

Caleb did not plan to hide anything from Kai'Sa, mm… aside from one thing.

He would tell her later. At the very least, once the Winter's Claw and Avarosa had officially joined forces.

Compared with the demigods, there was an even more important matter that had to be solved.

However, with the Freljord currently as chaotic as a pot of stew, even if they united in an emergency, they would still be lacking when it came to facing that thing.

That was also why the system wanted Caleb to unite the Freljord.

Without preparation, relying only on those Frostguards, Caleb did not feel that their odds of victory were very high.

The power of the Iceborn. The power of the demigods.

Even the power of Shurima, far to the south.

Caleb had to make use of all of it.

"Speaking of which, do you still have those noodles you mentioned before?"

Kai'Sa had apparently taken a liking to that strange dish.

It clearly did not smell very good, but the texture when eating it was wonderfully unusual.

"Why don't I cook a big pot today…"

Animal dung was actually often used as fuel by the people here.

So even if Caleb cooked Cajun seafood noodles, the smell was not all that overwhelming.

It could not compare to the impact it would have in Piltover.

Zaun, on the other hand, would probably enjoy treating something like this as a specialty.

Caleb borrowed a pot and took the necessary ingredients from his system inventory.

There was not much fuel left, so Caleb simply did as the locals did.

Flames rose from Caleb's fingertips, and the water soon came to a boil.

A strange smell quickly filled the entire tribe.

Caleb also took out a large clean spoon and stirred the Cajun seafood noodles so they would heat evenly.

"What the hell are you cooking? It stinks!"

Olaf, that reckless brute, followed the smell over. He had even tossed the meeting to the back of his mind.

The Avarosan and Seryldan tribespeople also pinched their noses and gathered around one after another.

Not for any other reason. They just wanted to know whether some bastard was cooking crap.

Anyone who contaminated a cooking pot would be beaten to death without exception.

Not long afterward, Sejuani and Ashe also came out of that cold great tent.

"This is certainly… unusual."

Even the usually good-tempered Ashe wanted to criticize Caleb for acting so at home here.

However, after everyone was handed utensils and a bowl of noodles, they all fell into the pattern of grumbling first and then eating with real enthusiasm.

"Whoa… It smells awful, but eating it is kind of addictive…"

Because Caleb had cooked the Cajun seafood noodles in the Iceborn camp area, one large pot was not actually enough to go around.

The two people who had originally planned to eat their fill did not end up getting that much either.

Each person only had one small bowl.

"Yeah… I knew this would happen…"

Caleb was not surprised. He held his own bowl, blew on it, then started eating.

Caleb's palm could automatically heat up, so he was not afraid of the noodles getting cold.

The other Iceborn, including Kai'Sa, were all wolfing it down.

"This seems to be the first time the two tribes have gotten along so well after meeting."
