Chapter 66
GEORGIA'S POV
My face was burning, and I was suddenly profoundly grateful for the darkness of the garden—otherwise, he would have seen me lighting up like a flare.
A "friendly" date? In my head, that word felt invisible. Is that even a thing? I always thought dates were strictly for people in love.
"Jaime used to talk constantly about how pretty you were when you blushed," Nikolaj said softly. "I can't help but notice he was telling the truth tonight."
The heat in my cheeks intensified. "You can see me that clearly?" I asked, instinctively shielding my face with my hand.
"Don't let the word 'friendly' slip your mind," he teased, his voice full of amusement. "It looks to me like you've already discarded it and are dwelling entirely on the 'date' part."
I took a step back, wishing the shadows were deeper. Was the man a mind reader?
"Who said I discarded it? I didn't. So, what's the plan for this friendly outing? What are we actually doing?"
