Chapter 52
GEORGIA'S POV
The sharp, clinical scent of iodoform and antiseptic was the first thing to hit me. Even before I opened my eyes, the smell of sterile soap told me exactly where I was. I've always loathed hospitals; they're synonymous with pain, low groans of discomfort, and the heavy air of illness.
Finally, I blinked my eyes open to a stark white ceiling. I sighed, taking in the IV stand and various medical equipment surrounding my bed. I was still in my clothes, which made me wonder exactly how long I'd been out of it.
I pushed myself up into a sitting position just as a maid entered. I couldn't understand why I was in a private room for a simple fainting spell.
"You're awake," she noted, tidying the bedside table. "You were only out for a few minutes. The doctor wants to run some labs to make sure there isn't a serious underlying issue."
