Chapter 50
GEORGIA'S POV
I was reeling. Michaela was gay? She liked girls—actually, genuinely preferred them to boys?
My mind was officially blown. Between one child being systematically bullied and another hiding her orientation, I started to wonder how many more skeletons were rattling around in this "perfect" family's closet.
"I've known it since I realized how much I prioritized being with Katsha over anyone else," Michaela whispered, looking down at her hands with a soft smile. "She's just… mysterious. She's beautiful, kind, has this soothing voice, and she's the only person I feel I can truly rely on."
"Is that why you were so adamant about keeping her away from the Ysa drama?" I asked. She nodded.
"Well, she's in the thick of it now. They're drafting a restraining order because Ysa actually cornered Michael in the boys' restroom and wouldn't let him leave. Michael acts tough, but he couldn't win a fistfight against a first-grader."
