Chapter 69 - Chapter 69: The Renowned Flame Witch and Scarlet Witch

The next day, when the sky was just turning bright, Harvey was woken up by the returning Wanda and Cho Chang.

"Except for that old hag named Madame Gao who could barely block our attacks, the other four leaders of The Hand were incredibly weak..."

"But Matt and the others said these ninjas can resurrect. I wonder if scattering their ashes to the wind with Fiendfyre actually works..."

The two women chatted as if no one else was there, stripping off their clothes and expertly walking into the bathroom, completely disregarding Harvey's feelings.

"Disturbing my sweet dreams, shouldn't you give me some kind of explanation for this?"

Harvey, suffering from a severe case of morning crankiness, decisively got out of bed and followed them into the bathroom.

Soon, the sounds of the two women's coquettish, blushing scoldings and breathy moans echoed from the bathroom.

...

By the time he was done getting his "explanation," it was nearly noon.

During lunch, Cho Chang and Wanda were still reminiscing about their righteous battle last night.

From what Harvey heard.

The Hand had deployed three hundred elite ninjas and five mysterious leaders last night.

The Defenders had deployed Jewel (Jessica Jones), Power Man (Luke Cage), Daredevil (Matt Murdock), and Iron Fist (Danny Rand).

Plus the Flame Witch (Cho Chang) and the Scarlet Witch (Wanda)—a full six superheroes.

The latter two monikers were self-proclaimed.

Harvey found it hard to imagine the cringe-inducing, "chuunibyou" scene of the two women announcing their titles to the enemy before a fight.

But that wasn't the point. The point was that the massive battle between the two sides last night had been earth-shattering, darkening the sun and moon, and leaving half of Hell's Kitchen practically in ruins.

Although justice ultimately triumphed over evil.

Matt and Jessica were severely injured during the chaotic, intense battle.

If Cho Chang hadn't generously brought out her healing potions, they would have likely been crippled, if not dead.

The two women had fought their hearts out in this battle. Not only were they able to unleash their full strength without restraint and test their own levels, but they even made the front page of the New York Times.

From now on, when they went out, Cho Chang and Wanda would also be superheroes with a name and a reputation.

"Wait, you said you made the front page of the New York Times? But the latest edition of the paper hasn't even been published yet. How do you know?" Harvey asked in confusion.

Wanda blinked her beautiful sapphire eyes and said with a face full of pride, "Because we accepted an interview from a reporter."

Harvey: "..."

"You didn't happen to not conceal your true faces, did you?"

Cho Chang said self-righteously: "Why should we hide them? Since we chose to be superheroes, we should present our true selves to everyone."

"Besides, we aren't worried about being attacked by terrorists. Not everyone is as cowardly as Tony Stark, the Iron Man."

"I heard that after his mansion got blown up, he announced he was quitting the Avengers last night."

"What a cowardly, incompetent guy!"

Cho Chang's words were filled with disdain for Tony Stark.

Suddenly hearing news about Tony Stark, Wanda's expression turned cold, and she echoed:

"A guy as timid as a mouse like him doesn't even deserve to be an Avenger. He only dares to bully ordinary people."

Anyone could hear the resentment in Wanda's voice. Clearly, she still harbored a deep grudge against the indirect murderer of her parents.

The atmosphere suddenly fell silent.

No one wanted to speak up to comfort Wanda; that would be tantamount to ripping open her scars to her face.

Harvey didn't know how to continue the conversation either, so he could only change the subject and say:

"You two were too careless. Rashly exposing your true faces means you'll definitely be targeted by people with ulterior motives from now on."

"There might even be people staking out near the house right now."

Cho Chang's delicate brows furrowed for a moment, but quickly smoothed out.

"With the Muggle-Repelling Charm active, Muggles won't be able to find this place. Furthermore, when we came back, I deliberately used the Apparition spell. We shouldn't have been followed."

"Foolish!" Harvey complained with a dark expression. "In modern society with so much public surveillance, from now on, as soon as you step out the door, you will be targeted 100%."

"Oh right, what do we do when we want to go shopping in the future?" Wanda, having adjusted her emotions, rejoined the conversation.

Harvey shot the two women an exasperated look. "Hmph, only realizing the troubles of being famous now? It's too late!"

Being reminded of this, Cho Chang also felt a bit of regret. When the reporter asked to interview her, she shouldn't have let her vanity get the better of her and agreed.

"How about I cast a large-scale Memory Charm? In ancient magic, there is a spell that uses rainfall to cast a Memory Charm. I could try that."

"Don't bother!" Harvey pointed at the LCD TV across the dining table.

The New York news broadcast was currently showing the exact scene of the two women giving a high-profile interview after their victory.

Seeing this news report, both Cho Chang and Wanda panicked slightly.

"Crap, this is real trouble. The interview footage has already been broadcasted. We couldn't take it back even if we wanted to."

Realizing the severity of the problem, Wanda put on an expression of utter regret.

Seeing the news footage also show Cho Chang cleanly casting a Blasting Curse, turning an enemy into ash, Harvey instead began to critique it with great relish.

"I didn't expect your combat skills to be this high, Cho. Every attack is fast, accurate, and ruthless. Your heroic and dashing silhouette, set against the backdrop of your enemies' agonizing screams, looks both cool and elegant."

Wanda said, feeling a bit jealous: "She clearly could have used a large-scale offensive spell to take out a huge group of enemies all at once, but Cho deliberately slowed down the rhythm of her attacks to torture the enemies."

"Sister's heart is truly ruthless~~"

Being shaded to her face like this, how could Cho Chang not understand Wanda's implied meaning?

"Don't talk nonsense. I had to divide my attention to cover the others, and I was afraid of catching my allies in the crossfire, so I could only use weaker spells."

Wanda put on a 'you're strong so you're right, I can't be bothered to argue' expression.

However, she stole a glance at Harvey and, seeing that he didn't seem to take it to heart, sighed inwardly.

Her plan to sow discord had failed. It seemed she would have to keep trying.

"Alright, you two stop bickering. Better think about how you're going to go out from now on. If all else fails, just use the Confundus Charm every time you leave the house."

Harvey offered a pretty good suggestion, though it was a bit troublesome.

Cho Chang and Wanda looked at each other in dismay. It seemed this was the only way.

After lunch, Cho Chang and Wanda went to the training ground in the basement to spar.

Harvey sat at the dining table, stroking his chin deep in thought. He had figured it out.

Wanda seemed to be harboring rebellious intentions recently. Openly and secretly trying to sow discord—it seemed that now that she had Chaos Magic, she wanted to trip up the other concubines and take the top spot for herself.

As expected, strength is the foundation of dignity. Good thing he had established an Unbreakable Vow in advance, so Wanda couldn't turn the world upside down.

"But at this rate, Wanda is going to clash with Hermione sooner or later."

The more Harvey thought about it, the more troublesome it felt.

"Although Miss Know-It-All's strength is quite good, she definitely wouldn't stand a chance against the Scarlet Witch. If I want to keep my backyard from catching fire, I have to stay vigilant at all times."

Thinking of this, Harvey sighed.

"When it comes down to it, I still lack the absolute strength to suppress everything. It looks like I need to go 'borrow' Wenwu's Ten Rings earlier than planned."

With this in mind, he changed into a set of wizard robes with protective capabilities and opened a portal leading to the Ten Rings' headquarters in the Middle East.
