Chapter 68 - Chapter 68: Fame and Fortune Are But Floating Clouds

Harvey wrapped his arms around the slender waists of the two women, brazenly adopting the posture of a man embracing a beauty in each arm, and sat down on the sofa to chat.

"Cho, Wanda, dressing like this, are you planning a crusade against me, your tyrannical and unreasonable husband?"

Sensing that someone's hands started wandering the moment he sat down, Wanda's body instantly went soft.

As the scene triggered memories of those shameful, highly erotic encounters, an enticing, drunken flush rapidly crawled up her cheeks.

"Don't move!"

Harvey's commanding tone made Wanda, who was still trying to dodge, instantly become as obedient as a little wife. Facing his increasingly outrageous demands, she could only endure them in silence.

Meanwhile, Cho Chang beside him also displayed her full seductive charm, tilting her small head to lean against Harvey's shoulder as she let out unconscious, breathy moans.

"No..."

Her eyes misted over with a watery haze, and her snow-white swan neck gradually flushed pink.

This enchanting posture of a beauty aroused by lust would make any man drool with desire.

Barring any surprises, Harvey was about to launch into an explosive, cannon-fire-filled battle of fucking.

But Cho Chang seemed to remember something. She suddenly jolted, her half-dazed consciousness waking up:

"Wait... darling, there's something we wanted to ask your opinion on."

Harvey paused his movements, his curiosity piqued.

"What is it?"

Cho Chang's delicate brows furrowed slightly. She adopted a calm tone and said:

"Wanda and I have joined the Defenders. There's a special operation coming up soon that requires our help..."

She had barely started when Harvey couldn't help but interrupt: "Hold on, the Defenders you're talking about wouldn't happen to be that idiotic group made up of street-level heroes in Hell's Kitchen, would it?"

Cho Chang asked in surprise, "Yes, you knew about them?"

Harvey couldn't figure out when these two women had gotten in touch with those street-level heroes from the Defenders.

Although he frequently hopped back and forth between the two worlds, he rarely saw Wanda leave the estate. Could they conjure friends out of thin air?

He scrutinized the two women with a dark expression: "When did you guys get in touch with those street-level heroes?"

Harvey's stern glare gave Cho Chang the creeps. Looking depressed, she answered honestly:

"Last month, when Wanda and I went out shopping, we ran into some blind thugs trying to rob us. Before we even had the chance to fight back, Jessica Jones and Luke Cage took care of them."

"And so we got to know each other because of that. Is there a problem?"

Harvey's initial instinct was to tell the two women to stop associating with those street-level heroes. Aside from wasting time, there was absolutely no point to it.

But just as the words reached his lips, he thought about how he couldn't keep Cho Chang and Wanda chained up at home for the rest of their lives.

They were both good girls with kind hearts. They just wanted to go out and be superheroes showing off in front of people; there was really no need to stop them over such a trivial matter.

After all, the two women were still young and loved the idea of being heroes in the spotlight. Give it a few years, once they matured, they'd realize being a superhero is a thankless, grueling job.

Taking all this into consideration, Harvey slowly spoke: "It's fine if you want to be superheroes, I won't stop you."

"But you have to understand that sometimes, doing a good deed won't necessarily be understood by people. A drop of kindness breeds gratitude; a bucket of kindness breeds resentment."

"One day, you'll encounter the Trolley Problem. I hope when that time comes, you'll be able to make a sufficiently rational decision and not drag yourselves down with it."

He laid out a whole set of grand principles, but unfortunately, neither Cho Chang nor Wanda took them to heart.

The two women promised in unison that absolutely nothing would go wrong.

Cho Chang said with a completely relaxed expression, "Don't worry, we're just going to help out. The Hand has been wantonly slaughtering people in Hell's Kitchen recently, it's simply too much!"

"We couldn't stand by and watch, so we wanted to help wipe out this ruthless gang organization."

Harvey nodded. Although he didn't know how much of his advice they actually absorbed, a low-level villainous organization like The Hand couldn't pose much of a threat to the two women.

"In this day and age, being a good person is hard. Do as you see fit. Just remember that I am your strongest backer. If you run into any difficulties, you can come to me for help."

The two women nodded repeatedly, each giving Harvey a kiss on the cheek, looking like they couldn't wait to run out the door.

"Hold on, before you leave, show a little tact."

Harvey tilted his chin up, giving them a 'you know what I mean' look.

As a result, the two women left behind a single sentence, "We'll reward you properly when we get back," and ran off without looking back.

From afar, Harvey could still hear them enthusiastically discussing what kind of resounding superhero monikers they should adopt.

Seeing the two women's excitement, he shook his head and sighed with emotion: "Sigh, being a superhero isn't that easy. You do the most dangerous jobs in exchange for uncertain gratitude."

"Once you get misunderstood by the world, you'll understand my well-intentioned advice."

As his horizons gradually broadened, he felt more and more that the creation of the wizarding world's Statute of Secrecy had its historical inevitability.

Wizards and Muggles were simply not the same kind of people. Why bother caring about the life or death of Muggles?

Especially since the threats in the Marvel Universe were as numerous as hairs on a cow. If one day he unfortunately capsized in a gutter, he probably wouldn't even have the chance to regret it.

"It's better to hide behind the scenes as a spectator. As long as it doesn't involve my core interests, I'll just honestly enjoy a corrupt, decadent lifestyle."

"As the ancient saying goes: If no one supports my soaring ambitions, I shall lie drunk in the mortal realm and laugh at the hardships of the world..."

After stroking an imaginary beard and reciting this rather evocative poem, Harvey felt that his entire ideological realm had been elevated.

But the thought of having to sleep alone in an empty room tonight caused his detached, open-minded smile to instantly collapse.

Harvey had long grown accustomed to falling asleep with a fragrant, soft little beauty in his arms every night. Without a woman beside him, his heart always felt empty.

And he didn't want to go back to Hogwarts for the time being.

Hermione was currently pondering how to modify the Portal magic into a new type of spell, making it adaptable for any wizard to learn and use.

She wanted to rely on this innovative spell to apply for the Order of Merlin.

Clearly, even Miss Know-It-All couldn't escape the temptations of fame and fortune.

This made Harvey sigh once again; people in this world who were as indifferent to fame and fortune as himself were truly too few.

The key issue was that Hermione didn't allow anyone to interrupt her while she was researching her innovative spell.

So, even if Harvey returned to Hogwarts, he wouldn't find anyone to alleviate his loneliness.

"It's a pity my junior, Ginny, is still too young, otherwise I could ask her out to go stargazing."

As for Luna, whose behavior had been getting increasingly bizarre and her personality increasingly eccentric lately, he didn't even consider it.

Because he was afraid that one day the crazy girl would actually go crazy and snip his dick off with a pair of scissors.

Harvey stroked his chin, wondering if he should hit up a nightclub to have some fun. Maybe he'd run into a blonde sweetheart?

He also wanted to experience the so-called 'love at first sight'.

But the moment he thought about the phrase 'Oh my, it's syphi-lis, the chance of infection is gonor-rhea', he shamefully chickened out.

"Better to behave myself. Tomorrow I have to engage in a battle of wits and courage with that old monster, Wenwu. I'll just stay home and study the Mind Scepter."

Since it was difficult for his total magic capacity to break through its bottleneck, Harvey had recently been researching how to rely on external objects to enhance his strength.

And he obviously wouldn't miss out on a treasure like the Mind Scepter, which could drastically increase his power.

Acting on his thoughts, Harvey took the Mind Scepter out of his spatial bag and walked down into the basement, which had been magically expanded and modified.
