Klein witnessed all of that with his eyes raining down tears.
The pain that was coming back with his memories was something that could completely shatter a person's mind.
Ryuga released his hand and the boy staggered back and collapsed on his bed.
He gasped for air as if suffocating. Tears rained on his bed uncontrollably. Looking at him, Ryuga was blank.
It was like he was trying to see if he was broken or crying in anguish. Klein's hands clenched over his heart so hard his fingers could punch holes into his chest.
The man poured himself a glass of water and began sipping on it. He stood by the window and admired the sight outside.
"In case you don't know. Only two minutes have passed. I suppose it would confuse you as it might have felt like hours in your mind-scape." He informed the young lad.
"Aha... hahahaha.... hahahahahaha...! You must really find this amusing. Oh yes. It's just a game for your amusement. Do you really think, anything down there matters?" Klein's laughter was sarcastic. And his words were mocking Ryuga.
"Nothing really holds any meaning to me. What held meaning to me... is soon to perish from reality as a whole. I can make reality what I want. But I find it more fun and entertaining, when I give people the chance and ability to do as they want." Ryuga answered nonchalantly.
His eyes glimmered and the clear water turned into pure orange juice. He sipped and smiled, a little amused.
"What I am saying is that you Klein, can decide your reality. I will not control you, no god will. Only you will decide what you want." Ryuga raised his glass with a smile.
"I don't even know who the conspirators are. Nor do I know the deal we made. What exactly did you bring me back here for?" Klein composed himself as sat up.
"Who conspired against you? Well, that's easy. The former head of the Vauxhall family. As well as your old team member. He even claimed your head, Shiro." Ryuga imitated beheading with a hand and a tongue cluck.
Klein was once again struck by surprise. When he was regaining his memories, he had disregarded his own and current memories. Including the knowledge that Shiro Von-Vauxhall was the Vauxhall head.
But now he knows even more. He is the man who tried to bring permanent end to him.
"Looks like you're getting it already. That's nice. It means you're following. And yes, this entire family was in on this. They all played a role in the hero Eric's fall. That was the best way they could ensure their survival in this world." Ryuga said amused
He could see that slowly but surely, Klein's hatred was growing. While earlier it didn't have direction, this time it was towards his own.
Klein heathed a sigh and dropped his head in defeat. He loved his family with everything he had. With every cell in his body.
But now, he could feel the hatred brew from the deepest depths of his heart. Depths so deep he didn't know he had them. This was reality's horrible twisted game.
"And lasty, you must be confused as to why you were reincarnated into this family. That's because of your request."
"What do you mean my request? I'm not sure you understand how I'm feeling right now. That's why you're treating this like something in a novel." Klein was blunt.
"Don't blame me if I am." Ryuga jested. In truth, Ryuga was blunt. He cared very little for what he might be thinking or feeling. And he wasn't even trying to hide it.
"Now then, I need an answer. Will you continue with our deal. Or will you live this life I've granted you? You have until..." Ryuga released the glass from his fingers.
Instead of it dropping, it floated. As if the matter of the glass itself was being reshaped, it became an hour-glass.
The water began dropping from the top side and Ryuga released it to float on the bedside table.
"I will be back when the water in that glass fully runs out." He said in his same blunt voice. His figure became transparent and slowly disappeared into nothing.
Klein was now left alone. Despite his raging, conflicting and contradicting feelings, he had to get up.
Love against hatred. Revenge or peace. Accepting a painful and flawed reality, when you know what was done to attain it. Can a human heart overcome all of that so simply?
Klein may not have the body of an adult man, but his mind and memories are worth an entire lifetime.
He knew just how people behaved. He had hope and trust in people. And because of the love of his family, he most definitely must give up the past.
Yes, he will bury it all. He won't care about all of those anymore. Suppressing them all down, Klein prepared himself for his birthday.
It was peculiar.
For one, a noble like him has a servant that would come and attend to him every morning. As a matter of fact, he had his own.
But they left the moment he told them to leave even though it was his birthday. He didn't put much thought into it as he burst the doors open.
Three maids stood on sides of the door. One of them looked like a girl his age. Her head was dropped in shyness rather than respect or admiration that some servants had for him.
He approached the girl, raised her head slowly to lock eyes with her. The girl stood unmoving, as if a dozen statue was in a staring contest.
"Is she one of the new ones?" He asked calmly.
"Yes, young master Klein. This is Lucia. She was a slave in the market and and lady Brianne freed her. She was assigned to you because--"
"Because she is timid and can act as a good spy on me. For now they want her around me. In the future she'll be a weapon." Klein said without breaking the eye contact.
