Chapter 9 - TSF-TB: 009

Vidia turned to face Rosetta's angry glare with a haughty smirk.

Her wings were a constant blur of motion as she hovered proudly with her arms crossed.

"Oh please, Rosetta, what's all the fuss about." she drawled.

"It's not like you were..." She froze suddenly, her gaze sliding past Rosetta and locking onto Zenith.

Her eyebrows shot up in surprise. "Well, well. This must be the wingless wonder everyone's been gossiping about."

Vidia flashed toward Zenith in a blur of violet and silver, stopping just inches from his face.

Her sharp grey eyes raked over him for a second before snapping back to his face.

Zenith hadn't even flinched the entire time, he silently observed Vidia, flashing her a playful smirk of his own.

"Hmph. You're taller than I expected," she remarked, hovering slightly higher to compensate for the height difference.

She didn't like the feeling of being 'looked down upon'.

Her smirk returned as she circled him like a hawk that was sizing up its prey.

"So, the rumors are true. A wingless sparrowman who floats in a blue *bubble*."

Her smirk deepened as she halted before Zenith's face again. "How very... peculiar."

...

"Hey! give him some space, will yah'!" Rosetta shouted from the side.

It was only now that she finally reacted, not at all pleased with Vidia's antics.

She hurriedly fluttered her wings as she darted between them, her wings flaring protectively.

"Back off, Vidia!" The words came out sharper than she'd intended, laced with a venom that surprised even herself.

'Whoa, things are getting a bit heated.' Zenith thought silently, though he didn't try to ease the tension at all.

Vidia rolled her eyes, but floated backward just enough to satisfy the fuming Rosetta.

"Alright, alright," Vidia scoffed, tossing her hair over one shoulder. "No need to get so feisty, right."

But at that moment, Vidia's eyes suddenly narrowed as if she'd realized something.

"Wait, are you two living together?" Vidia's voice sliced through the morning air, her smirk twisted into something sharper, more intrigued.

"Ah, well that's," Rosetta's expression faltered, becoming slightly flustered.

She glanced back at Zenith, whose calm demeanor hadn't changed at all despite Vidia's interrogation.

"He arrived just last night," Rosetta tried to explain. "Queen Clarion had asked me to..."

"Wait." Vidia cut her off, "Isn't there already a..."

"Hush, shh. shh. shhh!" Rosetta hurriedly silenced Vidia before she could finish her sentence.

"There ain't no need for all that yappin'!"

Vidia's smirk turned positively wicked as she leaned around Rosetta's flustered form.

"Ohh, so *that's* how it is," she purred, tapping a finger against her chin.

"And here I thought that 'little-miss-petals' was all prim and proper."

"Shut up, Vidia!" Rosetta hissed, her cheeks burning crimson as she swatted at the smirking fairy.

Vidia dodged easily, her proud smirk not wavering for a second as she glided backward.

Rosetta's wings flickered with agitation, scattering golden dust in erratic bursts.

"It ain't none of your business anyway!" She huffed.

She finally turned back toward Zenith, her demeanor shifting instantly from flustered to apologetic.

"I'm sorry about all that," Rosetta muttered softly.

Zenith, who had been silently enjoying the show the entire time, finally said something.

"It's alright, there's no need to apologize." He said comfortingly, though inwardly he was dieing of laughter.

'It's seems that our cute Rosetta is a bit of a 'yandere',' Zenith thought, amused.

Rosetta sighed heavily. "Alright, come along now, we have places to be, unlike some people around here."

With that final remark, she boldly grabbed Zenith's wrist before flying off with him in tow.

...

Vidia was still hovering there, arms crossed.

Her expression was a mix of amusement and something sharper, like she'd tucked away a secret for later.

"Oh, this is too delicious," Vidia murmured, tapping her chin as she watched them leave.

"First there's Tinkerbell and now this... things really are getting interesting."

:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:

Rosetta was silent the entire time as they flew toward the sewing-talents' workshop.

The air between them hummed with tension, part embarrassment, along with something else entirely.

Zenith glanced sideways at her reddened cheeks; silently admiring her flustered expression.

Of course, he perfectly understood the reason for Vidia's pointed question.

Every talent guild should in fact have a place prepared to accommodate a new arrival.

This was done just incase the new recruit would end up as one of their own.

'Clank and Bobble had brought Tinkerbell to her new home in Tinker's Nook, so it's safe to say that the garden fairies had also prepared a house as well.' He thought.

Zenith smiled, Rosetta's decision to let him stay at her place was entirely of her own choice.

Although he already knew all this, he definitely had no intention of calling her out on it.

After all, who wouldn't want to be roommates with a beautiful pixie such as the charming Rosetta.
