Chapter 38 - Chapter 38: The Clock Tower Hack

While Zoro dealt with the 'Firewall', Amine, Vivi, and Nami were sprinting toward the massive clock tower that loomed over Alubarna like a silent executioner. The sky above was bleeding a sickly 'Error Red', and the giant [Upload Bar] was now at 92%.

"We're too late!" Vivi cried out, her voice nearly drowned by the roar of the sandstorm. "The cannon... it's going to fire the Deletion Code!"

"It's not a cannon anymore, Vivi," Amine said, his voice raspy with exhaustion. "It's a Server Link. If that thing reaches 100%, the 'Origin Author' will overwrite Alabasta's history. This whole country will become a blank page."

They reached the top of the tower, but the stairs were gone—replaced by a spiraling 'Logic Puzzle' made of floating stone platforms that vanished and reappeared in a rhythmic pattern.

"Nami! Use the Ink Cyclone!" Amine commanded.

Nami didn't hesitate. She swung her upgraded Clima-Tact, releasing a whirlwind of dark ink that solidified the floating platforms. "Go, Amine! Hack that clock!"

Amine scrambled to the giant mechanical heart of the tower. He didn't see gears and springs; he saw a massive, glowing Motherboard. The bomb was sitting in the center, a black sphere pulsing with red static.

[Warning: Narrative Eraser Armed. 120 Seconds to Execution.]

Amine plunged his golden stylus into the bomb's interface. Instantly, his mind was pulled into a digital labyrinth. He saw the 'Script' for the Alabasta war scrolling past him at light-speed. He saw the deaths of thousands of soldiers, the fall of the Nefertari line... all of it written in cold, uncaring ink.

"I won't let you finish this sentence!" Amine roared, his hands moving across the invisible keyboard of the system.

He began to rewrite. He wasn't just stopping the bomb; he was 'Repurposing' the energy. He took the 'Deletion Code' and started re-coding it into a 'Restoration Command'.

"What are you doing, Scholar?" a voice hissed. It was the Senior Editor, appearing as a giant, shadowy face in the clock's reflection. "You are wasting your life for a world that isn't even real!"

"It's real to them!" Amine shouted, his eyes burning. "And if I have to be the 'Error' in your perfect story, then I'll be the biggest glitch you've ever seen!"

He drew a final, glowing circle around the bomb. [Command: Convert 'Erase' to 'Illuminate'.]

The red static turned into a brilliant, golden light. The clock tower began to hum with a divine frequency.

"Nami! Vivi! Get down!"

The timer hit zero. But instead of an explosion of fire and erasure, a massive pillar of golden light shot into the sky, tearing through the 'Error Red' clouds. The 'Upload Bar' shattered into a million pieces of digital confetti.

The light didn't kill; it washed over the city of Alubarna, neutralizing the 'Sand Virus' and restoring the memories of the fighting soldiers. For the first time in years, the people of Alabasta looked at each other not as enemies, but as brothers.

Amine fell back against the cold stone, his stylus dull and his body trembling. He had stopped the erasure, but he knew the battle was far from over. Above them, in the distance, he could hear the sound of a giant 'Keyboard' typing—the Origin Author was already preparing his next move.
