Chapter 45 - Chapter 45 : The Truth That Cannot Be Denied

The sky could no longer hold its shape.

Not collapsing.

Straining.

Because what stood within it had begun to exceed it.

The commander stood within stillness.

Unchanging.

Untouchable.

Aditya Varma stood before him, blade in hand.

A presence that erased everything in its path.

They moved at the same time.

No hesitation.

No delay.

The blade cut forward.

The space resisted.

And then—

A fracture spread through the commander's absolute zone.

A single line, widening.

Aditya stepped through it.

Not forcing.

Passing.

For the first time, he moved back.

"…impossible."

The blade pulsed violently.

The blackened edge deepened.

The space around it was gone.

Aditya's body trembled.

Not from fear.

From overload.

The power surged again, but this time he held it.

Barely.

The commander steadied himself.

"…so you chose this path."

A pause.

"…then you deserve to know."

"…we are not invaders."

Silence.

"…we are survivors."

"…our world collapsed."

"…not from war."

"…not from destruction."

A pause.

"…from instability."

"…someone like you existed."

The words landed heavily.

"…they tried to fix everything."

"…again and again."

"…until reality could no longer hold."

"…so we learned."

A pause.

"…we remove the cause before it grows."

Aditya's grip tightened.

"…you're afraid."

The commander did not deny it.

"Yes."

"…you call it control."

A pause.

"…we call it survival."

Aditya stepped forward again.

The blade rose, the power peaked.

His body cracked slightly.

Not visibly, but internally.

The strain reached its limit.

They collided again.

The sky tore apart.

The ground below split.

The entire battlefield was on the edge of collapse.

Aditya forced forward through resistance, pain, and everything.

The blade cut through the remaining absolute space.

Clean.

Final.

The commander staggered back.

His perfect state was broken.

Everything stopped.

For a moment, nothing moved.

Aditya stood still.

Breathing heavier.

Body strained.

But standing.

The blade pulsed again.

Not violently this time.

Clearly.

"…you are close."

The voice echoed within him.

"…but not complete."

Aditya closed his eyes briefly.

"…then what remains?"

Silence.

Then—

"…your origin."

The battle had reached its peak.

The strongest opponent had been broken.

The world itself had nearly shattered.

And yet, the answer he needed was not ahead of him.

But behind him.

Buried in a death that had started everything.
