Chapter 43 - Chapter 43 : The First Blood of the Unbreakable

The sky trembled.

Not from chaos.

From impact.

Aditya Varma steadied himself mid-air.

The blade in his hand was alive, responsive.

But his opponent was unshaken.

No warning, no signal, just motion.

A step, and he was already there.

Aditya reacted instantly.

The blade rose, and the space bent.

The strike slipped through.

Not blocked, not deflected, bypassed.

The commander's hand passed through the distortion.

And struck Aditya directly.

A shockwave erupted.

The sky split outward.

And for the first time, Aditya Varma fell.

He crashed into the ground below.

The earth shattered beneath him.

A crater formed instantly.

Dust rose.

Silence spread.

No one moved.

No one spoke.

Because something impossible had just happened.

He had fallen.

At the center of the crater, Aditya lay still.

Then slowly, he rose.

A single line of red traced across his face.

Blood.

He touched it lightly.

Looked at it.

Quiet.

"…so I can still bleed."

Above, the commander descended slowly.

"…you were never invincible."

A pause.

"…just unchallenged."

Aditya stood fully now.

The pain remained, sharp, real.

But something else changed.

Not anger, not rage, clarity.

He stepped forward again.

This time it felt different.

The space didn't react immediately because he didn't force it.

The commander struck again—fast, precise.

Aditya didn't block.

He moved just enough.

The strike grazed past him, missing.

A small shift, but everything changed.

Aditya countered.

Not with power, but with placement.

The blade moved, and for the first time, the commander stepped back.

"…you're learning."

His voice carried a hint of something new—interest.

Aditya didn't stop.

Each movement refined.

Each strike was more precise, with less wasted motion.

The blade pulsed again—stronger, sharper.

The golden edge dimmed—not weakening, condensing.

The space around it became still.

Not aligned, absolute.

Aditya's grip adjusted slightly.

"…so this is the next step."

He moved again, faster than before, but not reckless.

The blade cut forward, and this time—

The commander raised his hand.

But the space around him flickered, just for a moment.

The blade reached him.

A shallow cut, but real.

Silence followed.

Because now, both had bled.

He looked at the mark on his arm.

Not surprised.

"…so you've begun to understand."

Aditya stood firm.

"…I don't need to overpower you."

A pause.

"…I just need to reach you."

The battle had changed.

No longer a clash between overwhelming force and absolute control, but something far more dangerous.

A fight between two beings, both capable of evolving mid-battle.

And now, for the first time, the outcome was no longer certain.
