Aria's POV
Mateo left and suddenly it was just me and Lucian alone in my cabin.
He sat down in the chair Mateo had been in and took my hand like it was the most natural thing in the world.
"You scared the sh*t out of me," he said quietly. "When Leah called and said you were burning up with fever and talking about your dead mother, I thought… I don't know what I thought. But I've never driven that fast in my life."
"I'm okay now."
"Are you?" He searched my face. "Leah told us what you were saying while you were delirious. About watching your parents die. About Miriam."
"It's all true. I remembered everything."
"I'm so sorry, Aria." He brought my hand to his lips and kissed it gently. "You didn't deserve any of that."
The kiss on my hand sent tingles up my arm and I felt my face get hot.
Kira purred in my head. "I like when he does that."
"Me too," I admitted.
