Your spells will randomly gain an increase in strength.]
[Inherited Bloodline (Value): 2, 50% chance of doubling the amplification.]
Putting everything else aside, the effect of the Inherited Bloodline talent did not disappoint Lynn.
Although the chance of doubling the amplification seems to be only 50% right now, this is only the effect at two talent points, and Lynn has high expectations for its future growth.
After returning to the boys' dormitory, Lynn immediately checked all his belongings to see if there was anything like a surveillance camera.
After searching for two or three hours, he found nothing.
Finally, he fixed his gaze on his pet—Xiao Mai.
Without saying a word, Lynn sat on the bed, holding the cage and silently staring at it.
Hamster Agent 007 was extremely nervous. She lay in her cage with her eyes closed, pretending to be dead, silently repeating to herself: "He didn't suspect anything, he didn't suspect anything, he didn't suspect anything..."
After reassuring herself for a long time, she had practically hypnotized herself, subconsciously believing that Lynn didn't suspect her. Then, she jumped up confidently, chirping twice, asking Lynn for food.
Lynn opened a box of cookies for her, breaking them into pieces and putting them in her small bowl as usual.
Little Umaru buried half her body in the bowl, routinely hypnotizing herself, and happily began to eat.
"This is meat, this is meat, this is meat..."
Suddenly, Lynn, who had been quietly watching her eat, spoke up abruptly.
"Eating this every day, it's not easy for you."
Umaru, who was enjoying her meal, suddenly froze, then pretended not to understand, poking her head out of the bowl with blank eyes at Lynn.
Lynn muttered something inexplicable but didn't probe her further. Even if Umaru really was Kira's spy, it didn't matter.
He had no secrets other than the system, and no one but himself could see the system.
The next day was Saturday. The older young wizards happily left Hogwarts, beginning their Hogsmeade weekend.
The castle became empty. Lynn declined Cedric and Ian's invitation to play wizard chess by the Black Lake and went alone to the vicinity of the Hufflepuff common room.
He had heard Cedric mention before that the entrance to the Hogwarts kitchen was near their common room; one side of the corridor had a painting of a silver bowl full of fruit.
If you scratched one of the pears in the painting, it would turn into a green doorknob, and opening the door would lead to the Hogwarts kitchen.
The Hufflepuffs' common room was right next to the kitchen; they could come to the kitchen whenever they wanted to grab food and have a party.
Lynn entered the kitchen, a large room bustling with house-elves. Seeing Lynn enter, one elf immediately put down its work to greet him.
"How can I help you, sir?" it asked, clutching its tattered sheet, its face showing some fear.
Lynn cut to the chase.
"Do you have a house-elf here named Kira?"
"Is it old Kira?" the elf replied weakly. "It did something recently, and Headmaster Dumbledore gave it a sock this morning and fired it."
Lynn frowned.
"Do you know where it went?"
The house-elf shook its head. "I don't know."
As it spoke, it suddenly became angry again.
"What a wicked elf! Headmaster Dumbledore gave it a sock, and instead of feeling ashamed, it threw it away, saying it had never truly served Hogwarts, and that Headmaster Dumbledore had no right to give it a sock!"
While the house-elf was still angrily cursing, Lynn had already left the kitchen.
He didn't go to the Black Lake to find Cedric and the others, but went straight to the stairs and climbed to the third floor.
The third floor was the entrance to the Headmaster's office, and Lynn went there intending to confess.
Dumbledore's dismissal of Kira at this time was essentially telling him, "I know everything about you; it's up to you what you do now."
Lynn was in a difficult position.
So he decided to throw the problem back at Dumbledore: "I've already confessed; you decide what to do."
A conspicuous stone beast stood in the corridor on the third floor. Lynn walked up to the stone beast, and the ugly stone beast suddenly opened its mouth and spoke.
"Password."
Lynn didn't know the password. He said, "I'm here to see Professor Dumbledore. Please inform him."
The stone beast remained silent, as if communicating with someone. Soon, it received the command and jumped aside, making way for Lynn.
Behind it was a spiral staircase. Lynn climbed the stairs, reaching about the eighth floor of the castle before reaching the top.
At the end was a gleaming wooden door with a bronze knocker in the shape of a griffin's head.
Lynn politely knocked on the knocker, and after hearing a "Come in" from behind the door, he pushed it open and went inside.
The walls of the circular office were covered with photos of past headmasters. They all looked very serious and smiled as they watched Lynn enter.
In the center of the office, a long-legged table was decorated with many exquisite silverwares, which spun and sprayed mist. Behind the table, on a shelf, was the Sorting Hat.
Behind the door, on a tall, gilded perch, was Fawkes, the phoenix.
Fawkes saw Lynn and, as if remembering him, nodded in greeting.
"Good morning, Bellok. Sit down. Hmm, what snacks would you like? Raspberry jam? Toffee? Or honey candy?"
Dumbledore put down his quill, looked up, his crescent-shaped eyes sparkling, and asked with a smile.
Lynn secretly swallowed, wanting to say "I want them all" in an adult tone, but this time he wasn't there to freeload; he was there to atone for his sins and confess, so he could only shake his head and refuse.
"Thank you, Professor, but I've already had breakfast."
He sat down in the chair opposite Dumbledore, and before he could explain his purpose, Dumbledore waved his hand again.
"Since you're not hungry, how about a sour soda?"
A glass of pale yellow soda suddenly appeared in front of Lynn, looking like lemon flavor. He picked it up and tasted it; it wasn't very sour, but very sweet, which pleased him.
Dumbledore smiled at him, his hands clasped together on the table, assuming a listening posture.
Lynn hesitated for a moment, then found a suitable opening to speak.
"Professor, I heard you expelled a house-elf named Kira today?"
