Chapter 65 - Chapter 65. Kira

  Chapter 65. Kira

When Lynn rushed to Ian's side, Ian had just been struck by a stun spell and collapsed to the ground.

The "person" who attacked him was a short, ugly, humanoid creature with pointed ears, large eyes, wrinkled and loose skin, and wrapped in a tattered sheet!

This creature looked very similar to a goblin, but there were many subtle differences.

Lynn knew more about the magical world than Ian, and he immediately recognized it as an old, terribly aged house-elf.

Now, this house-elf was facing away from Lynn, grabbing Ian's arm, as if to apparite him away.

  "Stop!"

  Lynn drew his wand.

The aged house-elf heard Lynn's voice and trembled violently as if startled.

He slowly turned around, his expression extremely sorrowful, his two eyes, the size of ping-pong balls, brimming with tears.

"My…my master told Kira to stop, and Kira stopped."

Lynn was startled when he heard it address him.

He still held his wand and slowly approached the house-elf named Kira.

"Who is your master?" he asked in a deep voice.

Kira knelt on the ground, holding its large head in its hands, and cried out uncontrollably.

"It's Lynn Bellok, Lynn Bellok is Kira's master!"

Kira's address basically confirmed one thing: at least one of its parents was from a pure-blood family, and an extremely ancient one at that.

Only a family like that would keep a house-elf.

After Lynn appeared, Kira seemed to have completely given up on attacking Ian or escaping. It knelt on the ground, crying incessantly.

"Were you the one who attacked Hubert and Raphael?" Lynn had already reached Kira's side, still vigilant, looking down at it with his wand pointed at its large head.

"They're insulting your bloodline!" Kira suddenly shrieked, "How dare they use such disgusting, lowly, and contemptible words to address you! And this person! They all deserve to die!"

Its voice suddenly lowered, and it sobbed softly, "But Kira doesn't dare kill them. If I kill them, Dumbledore will find out that Kira is doing bad things, and he will make things difficult for the young master..."

Lynn's heart sank, and he asked,

"Does Professor Dumbledore know about your relationship with me?"

"Kira doesn't know if Dumbledore knows, but Kira guesses he does!" Kira clearly harbored inexplicable hatred for Dumbledore, gritting its teeth as it spoke his name.

Lynn stared intently at it and said,

"You call me young master, then who is your old master? Or are you working for that family?"

Kira was trembling slightly, and suddenly went berserk, banging its head against the ground repeatedly!

"Kira can't tell! The old master ordered Kira not to tell the young master! Kira disobeyed the young master's orders! Kira is guilty! Kira is a bad elf!"

It wasn't putting on an act for Lynn; it was hitting very hard, and in just a few blows, its forehead was broken, and deep red blood flowed down its large head.

Lynn's face turned grim. Just as he was about to stop Kira's self-harm, the old house-elf suddenly stopped on its own, and then it disappeared before Lynn's eyes with a "snap."

Behind Lynn, a series of hurried footsteps sounded, and Cedric came running up, panting heavily.

He had been following Lynn all along; this was something the three of them had agreed upon beforehand.

Ian was in the open, while Lynn hid in the shadows. If anything unexpected happened, Lynn would quickly appear to help.

He was confident that he could even hold his own against an adult wizard for a while. At this moment, Cedric, who was also hiding behind Lynn, would immediately find a professor after hearing the commotion.

But Lynn hadn't fought Kira, and Cedric hadn't heard any noise from behind. Ian and Lynn hadn't continued their planned route back, so he ran over to check on them.

Seeing Ian lying unconscious on the ground and the remaining bloodstains, Cedric stared wide-eyed and asked,

  "What happened?"

Lynn's feelings were complicated. He shook his head and said,

"Let's use a dispel to wake Ian."

Cedric used a dispel to wake Ian from his unconsciousness. Ian rubbed his still-drowsy head and asked,

"What kind of creature was that? It looked a bit like a Gringotts goblin."

  "It was a house-elf, a wizard's vassal," Lynn replied.

"A house-elf?" Cedric looked incredulous. "You mean these attacks were all done by house-elves?"

  Lynn nodded.

"This is outrageous! I'd rather believe Professor Fawkes is the real culprit!"

Lynn didn't find it outrageous at all; it was precisely because of the house-elves' loyalty to wizards that they were capable of anything.

He suddenly remembered many things. No wonder the food that appeared before him since the start of the semester had always been more to his liking.

It turned out someone in the Hogwarts kitchen had been looking after him.

However, there were still some questions.

His conflicts with Raphael and Ian all occurred in the castle, but his initial conflict with Hubert took place in the Slytherin boys' dormitory.

How did Kira know? Did it have spies around him?

"What do we do now? Should we report this to the professor?" Ian asked.

They all turned to look at Lynn. Lynn hesitated for a moment, then shook his head.

"Let's wait a bit. There are some things I need to clarify."

Ian and Cedric exchanged a glance. They could tell that Lynn seemed to be in a bad mood, so they said no more, bid farewell, and returned to their respective common rooms.

On his way back, Lynn kept thinking about what Kira had said.

Now he was certain that Lynn's past life wasn't that of a Muggle orphan, but rather from a long-established pure-blood family. From Kira's tone, it was clear that this family had a grudge against Dumbledore.

Kira guessed that Dumbledore already knew about his relationship with Lynn, and Lynn felt that the Old Bee couldn't possibly be unaware.

Considering Dumbledore's previous attitude towards him, Lynn was unsure of his own thoughts.

He even suspected—no, not suspected—that Dumbledore definitely knew about his meeting with Kira.

So what should he do next?

  Lynn hesitated, pondering.

Should he…voluntarily confess to the Old Bee and try to get leniency?

Just then, the system notification that the mission was complete suddenly rang in his mind.
