"Let's start from the left side of the room towards the right."
She then pointed at the table on the left that was closest to her.
A young man with green hair and grey eyes stood up with a smile.
"Davin Baker, 18 years old, son of Count Baker, A rank potential lightning affinity."
Another young man that had black hair and brown eyes stood up next to him.
"Mark Tax, 18 years old, son of Viscount Tax, A rank potential Earth affinity"
Then continuing by the same rule, the rest continued.
"Calista Torres, 18, daughter of Count Torres, A rank potential Fire affinity."
"Larissa Trinity, 18, daughter of Duke Trinity, S rank potential Fire affinity."
"Lucius Tanner, 18, son of Baron Tanner, A rank potential water affinity."
"Lucas Torres, 19, son of Count Torres, A rank potential Fire affinity."
"Jessica Lux, 18, daughter of Duke Lux, A rank potential spatial affinity."
That got Calux's attention, as he knew spatial mages were rare, and most had awakened with a B rank or below talent, having an A rank one in the academy was definitely something to look up to.
"Max Cullingham, son of Duke Cullingham, S rank potential darkness affinity."
..
So it went, the rest of the students introduced themselves until we finally got to the most looked at table.
[A/N: I decided to introduce the people who are going to be most in the story, but the rest will be introduced as the story progresses.]
Finally, the beautiful Seraphiel got up from her seat and spoke.
"Seraphiel Orithis, commoner, B rank potential origin affinity."
As soon as she finished the whispers started, some talked about her potential, since it was unheard of to have B rank potentials in S class, others spoke about her commoner status, but the most intelligent ones questioned her affinity.
She didn't give them the time of day, and sat down.
"Calux Voidbane, son of Duke and Duchess Voidbane, S rank potential void and space affinity."
BOOM!
The whole class erupted into shocked chatter.
Void affinity? That was essentially annihilation incarnate.
But a double affinity with space and void at an S rank potential? Wasn't that too broken?
Students that originally mocked him for not awakening started sweating internally.
Those who didn't were looking forward to proving themselves against a strong opponent.
The professor however, she was interested, more than she had ever been.
This was the first time ever reported to have a double affinity, on top of that it was an extremely rare space affinity that had never appeared as an S rank, and an even rarer affinity that had never appeared, void.
This young man... I need to keep a watch on him, that element is extremely dangerous, and if provoked...
The little girl next to him is weird as well, what is origin affinity?
Forget it I'll ask when the Princess introduces herself..
"Quiet down! I'm sure everyone knows you, but please go ahead princess."
Karina stood up gently, looked at the room and spoke up.
"Karina Brax, daughter of the King, S rank affinity with water."
Then she sat down, and looked at Calux with her peripheral vision, not wanting to let anyone know she was looking at him.
What the hell, no one knew Calux had awakened a double affinity, at an S rank potential at that?! Oh father how you screwed your self over loosing the allegiance of a future powerhouse before he even started his power road..
But in her eyes and heart, she felt truly happy that Calux had awakened with such rare affinities and high potential, it meant that for all the wrongs he had suffered, he would no longer suffer any injustices.
"Now that everyone is introduced, I'm genuinely curious about you two."
She looked at Calux and Seraphiel.
"Seraphiel, can you explain your affinity?"
"No problem, origin affinity relates to the origin of everything, as for what my abilities thanks to my affinity... I can conjure constructs that have the strength of my same rank, and they are limited only by my imagination and mental control. I can create weapons of any type as long as I can visualize it, of course, I need to understand the origin of the weapon so that it doesn't collapse as soon as it is used, giving it a better durability, and here is were my origin affinity comes into play, I can understand the origin of any weapon as long as I get into contact with it and study it, and then recreate it as a construct."
No one spoke, even Amara, the professor was dumbstruck.
B rank potential? If this woman had S rank potential she could take over a kingdom with that affinity!
"Well.. That is certainly a very strong affinity, it just proves how strong you are and why you deserve to be in this class."
Seraphiel didn't speak any longer and just smiled and nodded towards Amara.
Then it was of course Calux's turn.
"In my case, space affinity is fairly self explanatory, but... When used with my void affinity it is honestly a broken existence since they can be used together, void is as you imagine, the absence of everything, truth be told, if I use void matter on anyone of my rank or below they can probably loose a limb or two in a few seconds, and when I mean loose, I mean literally."
Everyone shuddered at his words, some took it as a threat, others were amazed.
"Calux, you say then can be used together it is broken... Can you explain?"
Amara had never felt this curious before, she was even stalling the start of the class to learn about Calux's affinity.
"Well, I don't want to reveal all my secrets, but I can give you an example, what happens when someone with space affinity teleports professor?"
"Well based on spatial awakeners in history, you use point A, usually your self, and connect it with a point B, essentially traveling through the fabric of space which has no time, arriving at wherever your goal was, some see it as a folding a piece of paper in a cylinder and passing a pen through point A to point B."
"Well based on my affinity studies you are correct, but what if using my void affinity, after I use my space affinity to teleport I destroy the space between point A and point B?"
The class went silent.
Seraphiel wanted to chuckle at the display of incredulity that everyone was showcasing.
Destroy the space between point A and B?
Isn't that suicide?
Some of course opened their eyes wide.
This meant that there was no longer a distance between points, it was as if he just appeared at point B, on the surface there was absolutely no difference other than the fact it was instantaneous, but theoretically and scientifically... It was a whole different matter.
"Calux.. Your existence seems to break some concepts we have studied... As a mana theory professor, I would like to study your affinity further so forgive me if during our time together I ask questions about your affinity..."
She said apologetically, but you could see the excitement in her eyes.
If you focused, you could probably see little stars twinkling inside her eyes.
Yes, this professor was a total nerd.
