Jace sat upright from the floor with a smile on his face.
"Is it done?"
A somewhat worried voice came from beside him. It was Nyx. She still had her gloved paw on him while healing him.
Jace smiled. "It's over, the advancement was successful. You can stop now," he said as he looked at her warmly.
The cat was relieved as she removed her hand from him, clumsily removed the glove, and threw it on the couch while walking away to a dark corner to sleep.
Jace chuckled. After spending two months with Nyx, he had realized that she was somewhat of a 'tsundere', but it suited her quite well as a cat, so he didn't mind at all.
Getting up, he started cleaning up after himself, and then finally he went into his bedroom.
Now that he had advanced, his powers from previous sequences had increased by thirty percent, just as he had anticipated.
The range of his fire jumping and fire controlling had widened, and the number of times he could use paper figurine substitution and wound transfer had increased.
The strength of his air bullet, the length of his air pipe in water, and even the quality of his illusions all had noticed a significant boost.
His divination and anti-divination had also become stronger due to the spirituality increase, and his body had gotten a little stronger as well.
With all of these improvements, his combat abilities were significantly better than before.
Then, there was his new power of Sequence 6: Shapeshifting!
One of the interesting things was that Jace could do now was change the color and length of his hair, meaning he didn't need to go to the barber anymore.
Other than that, he could also change the color of his eyes to literally any color.
Like now, he changed his hair color to white and made his eyes red; now he looked like the main protagonist of a novel.
He quickly reverted the small transformation and thought for a moment.
Now, who should he become first...
There was a certain face that came to his mind—the face he wanted to wear again.
He picked up the mirror on the desk, which was about his forearm's length, and held it with both hands before his face.
Recalling the face and then the body, he started shifting.
First was the bone structure; his height got taller by three inches and his shoulders widened a little. Then the skin tone, the facial features, the hair...
When it was all done, he looked at himself in the mirror.
It was a young man with plain but good-looking features, but his eyes were sharp and his hair was short.
Looking at himself in the mirror, he said, "Nice to see you again." His voice was different—a little deeper and more precise than before.
It was 'Jake Connors' from before he transmigrated into 'Jace'.
When he had transmigrated into Jace, he felt weird whenever he looked into the mirror, as half of him recognized the face and half of him didn't.
Now that he had taken Jake's form, he thought it was familiar, but then again not really, as he had gotten used to original Jace face.
He got up and moved around, feeling his old form.
This was good, though. The ethnicity of this face thankfully matched the ethnicity of the people in Backlund, meaning he could use it as a safe identity.
The next form he tried on was that of a middle-aged, good-looking man.
It was Edward Lane—the psychopath. With this form, he was going to take control of the dead Edward's property and take it for himself.
Now the time came to transform into a woman.
Though this was not exactly something he liked, he was kind of excited about it.
'Let's see... which one should I take?' When it came to taking the form of a woman, he only had a few people in his mind: Catherine, Natalie, and Sarah.
Catherine and Natalie were not possible.
Well, it was possible as he could take their face and height, but when it came to their figures, it was not possible; he could try to take their figure, but it would be incomplete and inadequate compared to the real thing, so it was a no-go.
Sarah, on the other hand, was different.
She was shorter than Jace, and though she had a great figure, it was still on the thinner side, so he believed he could perfectly take her appearance. And that's exactly what he did.
His height lessened and his figure became smaller. His waist narrowed as his chest swelled, his skin got fairer and softer, his hair became longer, and his features turned pretty and delicate.
"Ohhh..." Even the pitch of his voice turned high and soft.
Looking at himself—or Sarah—in the mirror, he couldn't help but feel that she was really pretty up close.
Jace was amazed.
Although he had taken just a few forms right now, the whole thing still felt quite strange and bizarre; he could actually shapeshift and take other people's appearanc—even a woman's at that.
Well, Jace didn't actually become a woman, but just took the form of one.
He still had his tool down below in his pants, but since he was taking a woman's form, he had deliberately made it smaller to portray the... 'flatness' of a woman.
He moved his hand, which was now dainty, feminine, and soft, and groped his own breasts.
Well, he didn't feel much of anything, which was a given since he had just increased their size and hadn't actually gained a woman's sensitivity, but they were pleasant and warm for his hands to touch.
On the other hand, he couldn't help but feel that even though he had perfectly taken Sarah's form and figure, the breasts were a little smaller.
The breasts he formed from his fat were only about a B-cup, while Sarah had C-cups. He tried again to move his fat and make them bigger, and he succeeded, but they still weren't quite there yet.
But it was fine.
Now that he was a Faceless, he could perfectly observe and recall people's appearance, voice, their physical traits, and even their body language, so he could act as them.
The same went for Sarah, and Jace knew Sarah well enough that he could pass as her for her acquaintances and even her family—if she had one.
But Natalie, who was a Beyonder as well as Sarah's lover, would be able to recognize him because of her enhanced Hunter senses and intuition.
Regardless, his appearance changed and returned to his original Jace appearance.
There were limitations to what Jace could take the appearance of, but still, it was impressive.
