The integration of the Agent of Spring into the Northern Fortress took exactly ten minutes, and it was a complete and utter disaster for Lord Yuki's mental health.
"Put the silk on the left side of the room!" Haru chirped happily.
The ten-year-old girl was currently standing in the middle of the inner courtyard, directing her tiny paper shikigami. The little floating spirits were dutifully carrying boxes of her bridal gifts toward the guest wing.
"No!" Yuki shrieked, floating three feet off the ground in his twelve-year-old boy form. "Put the silk in the moat! She is not moving into the guest wing! She is a plant! She can sleep in the greenhouse!"
"But husband, the guest wing is right next to your room," Haru giggled, completely unfazed by his hostility. "We need to be close so our spiritual energies can mingle!"
"I do not want to mingle!" Yuki grabbed his own hair, his twin white tails lashing violently. "I want to be left alone with my fish!"
