Chapter 14 - Uncle Dave

Jami stormed out of the café.

---

His face was dark.

Steps heavy.

Anger barely contained.

---

"…That bastard…"

---

Behind him—

Scott sat comfortably, watching him leave.

---

Then—

He leaned back.

Smiling.

---

A slow, satisfied smile.

---

"…Fifty billion."

---

He picked up his drink and took a calm sip.

---

"Not bad at all."

---

Moments later, he stood up and walked out of the café.

---

The city lights of Fossen Grand stretched endlessly before him.

Ships flew across the sky.

Crowds moved like rivers.

---

But Scott—

Was only thinking about one thing.

---

Money.

---

"Fifty billion credits…"

he muttered, almost laughing.

---

That was no small amount.

---

Even among wealthy families—

That kind of money was significant.

---

And he had just earned it…

With almost no effort.

---

Scott chuckled.

---

"Humans really are greedy."

---

He paused briefly.

---

"…Though I'm not any better."

---

If anything—

He was worse.

---

Much worse.

---

But he didn't care.

---

In this world—

Power cost money.

---

And now—

He finally had some.

---

As he walked home, his thoughts shifted.

---

His eyes narrowed slightly.

---

"…Knife skills."

---

The Red Teeth Knife was a good weapon.

Sharp.

Fast.

Reliable.

---

But without proper technique—

It was nothing.

---

Scott knew this.

---

The stronger the skill—

The more expensive it would be.

---

Before today—

That would have been a problem.

---

But now?

---

"…That's not an issue anymore."

---

With fifty billion—

He could afford:

high-class martial arts

movement techniques

combat training systems

---

Scott's pace quickened slightly.

---

For the first time—

He felt like he had options.

---

Scott arrived home not long after.

---

He didn't waste time.

---

He activated his communicator and made a call.

---

His mother's holographic image appeared.

---

"Scott? Is everything alright?"

---

"I'm fine," Scott replied.

---

Then—

"I'll be leaving Fossen Grand for a while."

---

She frowned slightly.

---

"Where are you going?"

---

"Training."

---

A short pause.

---

"…Be careful."

---

Scott nodded.

---

"I will."

---

The call ended.

---

Scott exhaled softly.

---

"…Time to get stronger."

Not long after—

Scott boarded a ship.

---

His destination:

A nearby civilian planet.

---

When he arrived—

The view was breathtaking.

---

The sky shimmered with a soft glow.

A massive ring wrapped around the planet like a crown.

---

And above—

Two suns burned brightly.

---

"…Beautiful."

---

Scott stepped off the ship.

---

Unlike Cyris Prime, this planet was less structured.

More natural.

More alive.

---

But it was still large—

And full of opportunity.

---

Scott quickly boarded a transport airship.

---

His destination:

A martial hall

The building stood tall in the distance.

---

Massive.

Imposing.

---

Its surface shimmered with a bronze-like metal—

Ancient yet powerful.

---

Scott walked toward it calmly.

---

Then—

A voice called out.

---

"Hey! Little Scott!"

---

Scott frowned slightly.

---

"…What?"

---

He turned.

---

A man was waving at him from afar.

Running toward him.

---

Scott narrowed his eyes.

---

At first—

He didn't recognize him.

---

But as the man got closer—

---

"…Uncle Dave?"

---

The man burst into laughter.

---

"Haha! So you do remember me!"

---

He stopped in front of Scott.

---

"Getting old, huh? Couldn't even recognize your own uncle!"

---

Scott sighed slightly.

---

"What are you doing here?"

---

Uncle Dave grinned.

---

"What am I doing here?"

---

He spread his arms.

---

"I own this place."

---

Scott froze.

---

"…You what?"

---

For a moment—

He thought he misheard.

---

But then—

It made sense.

---

Uncle Dave…

Though a distant relative—

Was no ordinary man.

---

He had opened his ninth celestial gate.

---

An Eternal.

---

A being far beyond normal Veilborn.

---

Even among elites—

He stood at the top.

---

Scott exhaled slowly.

---

"…I see."

---

Uncle Dave smirked.

---

"So? What brings you here?"

---

Scott didn't hesitate.

---

"I need martial skills."

"Knife techniques."

Uncle Dave nodded.

"Good."

Then he turned.

"Come with me."

The interior was vast.

Spacious.

Orderly.

People moved in organized patterns.

Some trained,Some sparred,Some observed,Energy filled the air.

Scott looked around calmly with His eyes sharp. This was where he needed to be.

---

They walked to the counter.

---

Scott picked up a digital leaflet while Uncle Dave handled the rest.

---

"I'll get you a private training room," he said.

Moments later,Everything was set.

Scott entered the room.He activated the system and a holographic AI appeared instantly.

---

"Welcome to the Ninth Martial Hall."

---

"Please select your category:"

---

B-Class

---

Scott didn't hesitate.

---

"…Super Class."

---

The AI paused brieflyThen responded:

---

"Access confirmed."

---

Scott's eyes sharpened.

---

Immediately—

He selected:

---

The screen flickered.
