Chapter 13 - back home

The spacecraft descended smoothly.

---

Through the window, the vast structure of Fossen Grand came into view—gleaming towers, layered highways, and streams of ships moving in perfect coordination.

---

Scott leaned back slightly.

"…Finally."

---

After everything—

The fights, the humiliation, the realization of his weakness—

Returning here felt… different.

---

Not comforting.

---

But familiar.

---

The ship docked.

Passengers began to disembark.

---

Scott stepped out calmly, his expression neutral.

But inside—

His thoughts were sharp.

---

Knight-Class…

Two essences…

---

"…Not enough," he muttered.

---

He walked through the terminal, blending into the crowd.

---

But just as he exited—

A voice called out.

---

"Scott!"

---

Scott paused.

---

He turned.

---

Rylan.

---

Standing a few meters away, waving with unusual urgency.

---

Scott raised an eyebrow slightly.

"…What now?"

---

Rylan jogged over, slightly out of breath.

---

"I've been looking for you," he said quickly.

---

Scott crossed his arms.

"…Why?"

---

Rylan didn't waste time.

He pulled out a small, sleek metallic box from his coat.

---

"This."

---

Scott's eyes shifted to it.

---

"…What is it?"

---

Rylan smirked slightly.

---

"Supergene fluid."

---

Scott's gaze sharpened.

---

He knew what that was.

---

Expensive.

Rare.

Powerful.

---

"…And?" Scott said calmly.

---

Rylan stepped closer, lowering his voice.

---

"These aren't the normal ones."

---

He opened the box slightly.

Inside—

Several vials rested neatly, each containing a faintly glowing liquid.

---

"These are designed for Veilborn," Rylan continued.

"They can push your strength to Tyrant-level… even before you reach it naturally."

---

Scott's expression didn't change.

---

But his eyes flickered.

---

That strong…?

---

"…Why are you giving this to me?" Scott asked.

---

Rylan hesitated for a moment.

---

Then smiled.

---

"Call it… an investment."

---

Scott stared at him.

---

Silent.

---

He wasn't stupid.

---

There was definitely something behind this.

---

But—

---

His mind calculated quickly.

---

If this is real…

Even selling one…

---

A faint smile slowly appeared on Scott's face.

---

"…Alright," he said.

---

Rylan blinked.

"…That's it?"

---

Scott reached out and took the box.

---

"I'll take it."

---

His smile widened slightly.

---

"Thanks."

---

Rylan let out a relieved breath.

---

"Good. Use it wisely."

---

Scott nodded.

---

"I will."

---

Rylan gave one last look, then turned and left.

---

Scott watched him go.

---

Silent.

---

Then—

---

"…He really thinks I'm going to use this."

---

A quiet chuckle escaped him.

---

His grip tightened slightly around the box.

---

"…Interesting."

---

Without wasting time, Scott activated his communicator.

---

A holographic interface appeared.

---

He tapped quickly.

---

Calling one person.

---

Jami.

---

A few seconds passed.

---

Then—

A loud voice burst through.

---

"SCOTT! Where the hell have you been?!"

---

Scott smirked slightly.

---

"Relax."

---

"I've got something for you."

---

Silence.

---

Then—

"…What kind of something?"

---

Scott's smile deepened.

---

"Something expensive."

---

Another pause.

---

"…Where are you?"

---

Scott glanced around.

---

"There's a café near the west district. Meet me there."

---

"I'm coming."

---

The call ended.

---

Scott exhaled.

---

"…Perfect."

---

The cafe

The café buzzed with quiet activity.

Soft music played in the background as people talked, laughed, and drank.

---

Scott sat calmly at a corner table.

---

A drink rested untouched before him.

---

Minutes later—

---

"Scott!"

---

Jami burst in.

---

He walked straight over and dropped into the seat.

---

"You better not be wasting my time," he said.

---

Scott leaned back slightly.

---

"…Relax."

---

Then—

He placed the box on the table.

---

Jami's eyes immediately locked onto it.

---

"…What's that?"

---

Scott opened it.

---

The glowing vials reflected in Jami's eyes.

---

Silence.

---

Then—

"…No way."

---

"Supergene fluid," Scott said casually.

---

Jami leaned forward.

---

"…You're joking."

---

Scott shook his head.

---

"Veilborn-grade."

---

Jami's breathing slowed.

---

"…How many?"

---

Scott tapped the box lightly.

---

"Enough."

---

Jami swallowed.

---

"…Price?"

---

Scott didn't answer immediately.

---

Instead—

He leaned forward slightly.

---

A faint smile forming.

---

"…How much do you think one is worth?"

---

Jami frowned.

---

"…These things go for… what… seventy billion?"

---

Scott nodded.

---

"Correct."

---

Then—

He leaned back.

---

"…I'll give them to you for fifty."

---

Jami's eyes widened.

---

"FIFTY?!"

---

Scott shrugged.

---

"Discount."

---

Jami stared at him.

---

"…You call that a discount?!"

---

Scott smiled.

---

"Compared to seventy?"

---

Silence.

---

Jami clenched his teeth.

---

"…You're robbing me."

---

Scott shrugged again.

---

"Then don't buy."

---

He began to close the box.

---

"Wait—!"

---

Jami slammed his hand on the table.

---

"…How many do you have?"

---

Scott smirked.

---

"…Enough to make you stronger."

---

Jami stared at him.

Long.

Hard.

---

Then—

He exhaled.

---

"…You're unbelievable "
