In the dead of night, it truly did make out a hellish scene. Ace stay on the building, waiting for Richard to give the go ahead.
Everyone slid behind some form of cover before Richard pointed at the monsters.
"Attack."
In an instant, their rifles roared to life, with a vast array of blasts hitting Chitinous armor and blasting through it.
Ace took a deep breath before diving down, stabbing into a a goblin like creature with four arms. It died grabbing onto his blade.
His attention was then brought onto the remaining monsters that were being mowed down.
The main body of monsters were inectoid in nature. As they roared, Ace readied his blade.
'God, these things are ugly.'
He had to get rid of them quickly before they haunted his dreams.
Ace dashed forward and with his sleek black suit in this kind of darkness, one might barely see him at all.
He ducked under one claw of the beast before
Stabbing it and swinging upwards, splitting the beast down the middle.
Another Came close to him and he used his left hand to backhand it away to which Richard quickly blasted it to hell, using his lazed rifle to blow it away.
A few more of the creatures were quickly being reduced to aiming targets, blown down before Ace could get to them.
As he turned to the last monster, he saw a beautiful and curvy woman Slice its head off of its body with her staff.
She then turned and looked at him as she walked in his direction. "While you're quite good, I do wonder…who didn't you use the gift you were so confident in?"
"It's simple. I'm confident I didn't need it at the moment. If the time comes when I do, you'll see it. For now, our team has everything under control."
Everyone else walked up to them, as did Richard. "Well our lives could be in danger if we don't use your abilities to the best of our potential."
Ace turned around to look at him. "Are you so unsure of your own abilities that you're dependent on a Child to save the day? Or were you not just bashing the gifted that you've had previously for their arrogance?"
Richard simply looked at Hanna with pleading eyes. "Please try not to let him out of your sight."
Then he turned to ace. "This back and forth is over. I can't have any liabilities with me, let alone a kid who argues about every damn thought that comes to mind."
"Let's move."
Eventually, everyone began walking, with Ace and Hana trailing to the side.
As Ace turned to her, he was promptly hit on the head. "Damn it brat, why'd you have go and do that? Whats so bad about showing your powers?"
Hanna was clearly annoyed as she looked at Richard for a few seconds.
"Don't get mad at me. I know you like hi–ack!"
Chase leaned over as he was slapping upside the head once again. "Shut up kid. You don't know anything. Keep your voice down."
Richard turned around. "Do I have to check on something over there? What could possibly be so interesting?"
"Oh nothing!" Hanna had almost immediately perked up, a smile could be seen through her yellowish visor that covered her entire face.
Richard was even more suspicious, but he continued on. "The beasts are around here, based offf of my scanners, the beasts vitals signs are going crazy near a mall. Were walking in its direction right now but we should probably speed up. That is unless some of us are tired."
His eyes scanned everyone to see that they were straight faced and ready for combat.
Eventually Hana breathed a sigh's of relief
As she was about to grab Ace.
"If you touch me even one more time, You won't have a hand to do it again."
Hanna turned to look at him. He was straight faced and plain. But seeing his eyes casually looking at her hand for her next move, she certainly didn't doubt him.
"Just follow me then." She said, a bit creeped out.
Hanna darted, kicking up dust as she ran. Everything seemed to blur at the side as Ace followed her.
Eventually, Richard slowed down, he turned back to see his fellow soldiers not far behind him, jumping off of a building and gracefully and silently landing behind him.
Waiting a bit longer, he saw Hanna and Chase catch up as well. These two were obviously the physical dynamos besides him so why where they fucking around?
Turning his attention forward, he saw his objective. Multiple monsters, ranging from lizards to insects to blobs whatever the fuck.
Obviously corrupted, red eyes a key part of their features.
He turned around. "Everyone be careful. With swarms this big, their tends to be a leader. A creature powerful enough that these creatures trust it to lead them to victory.
We all have to come together to take it out. Avoid it if possible. Another thing, the mall is full of civilians. We have to kill the monsters, Avoid the leader until we all can face it and then save the citizens."
""Got it.""
Everyone said in response. Richard looked at Ace and Hanna "you two get in position to strike. They might have range that we don't know about."
Ace sighed before jumping upwards, casually crawling onto a building and as he ran across the brick and stone skyscraper, he jump to another, and then another with Hanna annoyed and following him.
"Slow down damnit!"
And then Richard wonders why they were late. The woman who wants to be his girl is lazy.
