"Are you going to be in there forever?" Pearl's voice echoed faintly from the hallway outside.
"Just a second!" I called back, turning on the tap.
I washed my hands under the freezing water, leaning forward to stare at my reflection in the large glass mirror. I was still exhausted from the bizarre alchemy lecture.
Serena must think I'm stupid to just accept her as my friend. Hell no. She can't just turn into a saint overnight. There was definitely a catch.
Suddenly, the room seemed to tilt. A sharp wave of intense dizziness hit me, making my vision blur, followed immediately by a suffocating rush of heat that surged up from my chest. It felt like my veins were suddenly full of boiling water.
Panting, I lunged toward the exit, reaching out to grab the door handle just to get some air.
